Knapp 2000 Kilometer misst die Küstenlinie der Bretagne. Auf ihrem Weg rund um die westlichste Region Frankreichs nimmt sie jede Bucht, jeden Strand und jeden Hafen mit. Einmal die komplette Küste entlang reisen, war schon immer mein großer Traum. Da ich kein halbes Jahr Zeit für eine Wanderung auf dem GR34 – dem Küstenwanderweg – habe, nehme ich einen Mietwagen und fahre die versteckten Perlen der Küste ab. Immer auf der Suche nach den besten Naturhighlights.
Dieser Bretagne Roadtrip führt von Saint-Malo nach Guérande – von Nordost nach Südost, die gesamte Küste entlang. Unterwegs jagt ein Naturhighlight das nächste. Mit dem Fahrrad geht es durch Küstendörfer und verlassene Wälder, auf dem Kajak über Flüsse und zu Fuß auf einem der beeindruckendsten Wanderwege Europas entlang.
Zwischendurch geht es mal unter das Wasser beim Tauchen oder mit der Kraft des Windes beim Windsurfen übers Wasser. Diese Reise verspricht viele Aktivitäten, kleine Abenteuer und ist genau das Richtige für junge Aktivreisende.

AMOCO CADIZ IN PORTSALL|| ANCRE DE L'AMOCO CADIZ

Amoco Cadiz was a VLCC owned by Amoco Transport Corp and transporting crude oil for Shell Oil. Operating under the Liberian flag of convenience, she ran aground on 16 March 1978 on Portsall Rocks, 2 km from the coast of Brittany, France.

Aire de Kerros Ploudalmézeau Motorhome Area
Bienvenue à l'aire de Kerros, dans la commune de Ploudalmézeau. À noter quelques petits problèmes techniques, expliqués au début de la vidéo, et un remplissage d'eau un peu difficile, mais une aire très sympa et pas trop chère, très bien placée au bord de la plage.
7€ du 1er octobre au 31 mars et 10€ le reste du temps, plus 61 centimes de taxe de séjour par personne. Le site Park4night parle de 40 places... Ça me paraît beaucoup, mais je ne me souviens pas avoir vu d'informations sur le nombre de place. Les emplacements sont plus ou moins plats et sur de l'herbe. L'aire est délimitée par des haies et est très agréable. Même entrée et sortie, la borne de sortie n'est pas très pratique, trop prêt de la barrière. Il n'y a pas de WiFi, mais de l'électricité pour tout le monde. C'est calme et éclairé par la rue jusqu'assez tard. Puis ça s'eteind et se rallume dans la matinée. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour les poubelles dans l'aire et juste à côté. C'est très calme. La boulangerie ou la supérette les plus proches sont à environ 20-25 minutes de marche. Le GR34 passe juste à côté, et vous êtes aussi prêt de l'ancre de l'Amoco Cadiz.

Welcome to the Kerros area, in the town of Ploudalmézeau. Note some small technical problems, explained at the beginning of the video, and a little difficult water filling, but a very nice and not too expensive area, very well situated near the beach.
€7 from October 1 to March 31 and €10 the rest of the time, plus 61 cents of tourist tax per person. The Park4night site talks about 40 spaces... It sounds like a lot to me, but I don't remember seeing any information on the number of spaces. The pitches are more or less flat and on grass. The area is delimited by hedges and is very pleasant. Same entry and exit, the exit terminal is not very practical, too close to the barrier. There is no WiFi, but electricity for everyone. It's quiet and lit from the street until quite late. Then it goes off and comes on again in the morning. There is everything you need for rubbish in the actual area and just outside. It is very quiet. The nearest bakery or mini market is about a 20-25 minute walk away. The GR34 passes right next to it, and you are also close to the anchor of the Amoco Cadiz.

Parc du Thabor: This is a former garden of the monks of Saint-Melaine Benedictine Abbey. This was redesigned by Denis Bühler, a famous 19th-century landscape artist in 1868. The Parc des Gayeulles: This is the largest green space in Rennes. Located near the district of the same name, it offers an area of 100 hectares, including adventure sports, wooded areas, a barbecue area, shovel activities, water points!

West Coast of Brittany - France 4K Travel Channel
The west coast of Brittany undoubtedly belongs to the most beautiful in the world. Miles long sandy beaches alternate with bizarre rock formations. At low tide you find a flat beach, whereas towering wave often rage at high tide. Fishing boats and sparse vegetation give the landscape its unique touch.
The Route of our discovery tour leads from Brest to le Conquet, Ruscumunoc, the lighthouse of Trézien, the port of Porscav, Lanildut, Melon, Porspoder, Argenton and to the beach of Penfoul. Along the tourist coast to Portsall we drive to the beaches of Saint Pabu Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau and d'Erlearch. From there we return to Brest.
Le Conquet lies in the outermost west of Brittany. The bay offers the fishing boats a good protection from the elements. It is market day and we take the opportunity for a little walk through the small town. To the east of the city, at the end of the beach are beautiful biotopes which are home for various birds. We reach a fantastic sandy beach north of Le Conquet, la Plague des Blancs Sablons.
In Ruscumunoc à Trézien we explore the coast. It is characterized by rocky sections with huge boulders. After that we go to the lighthouse of Trézien which shall offer a marvelous vision but was closed because of the lunch break. Therefore we drive on directly of to the port Porscav.
Again, the same image; Sandy beaches, cliffs, fishing boats. However, it differs from the previous landscape and shows its unique character.
In Argenton a series of peninsulas lead into the sea. An old stone custom house reminds of past times
North of Penfoul, a bay with fine sand extends deep into the inland region. The bay is used for surfing, that's why you find a surf school here.
Along the tourist coast we reach the small port of Portsall.

Die Westküste der Bretagne zählt zweifellos zu den schönsten der Welt. Kilometerlange Sandstrände wechseln sich mit bizarren Felsformationen ab. Wo bei Ebbe flacher Strand zu finden ist, toben bei Flut oft turmhohe Wellen. Fischerboote und karge Vegetation geben der Landschaft ihre einzigartige Note.
Die Route unserer Erkundungsfahrt führt von Brest nach le Conquet, Ruscumunoc, zum Leuchtturm von Trézien, zum Hafen von Porscav, Lanildut, Melon, Porspoder, Argenton, zum Strand von Penfoul, über die Touristenküste nach Portsall, zu den Stränden von Saint Pabu Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau und d'Erlearch. Anschließend fahren wir zurück nach Brest.
Le Conquet liegt im äußersten Westen der Bretagne. Die Bucht bietet eine guten Schutz für die Fischerboote vor den Naturgewalten. Es ist gerade Markttag und wir nutzen die Gelegenheit für einen kleinen Spaziergang durch die kleine Stadt. Im Osten der Stadt, am Ende der Bucht gibt es wunderschöne Biotope, die einer Reihe von Vögeln eine Heimat bieten. Wir erreichen den nördlich von Le Conquet gelegenen phantastischen Sandstrand, la Plage des Blancs Sablons.
Bei Ruscumunoc à Trézien erkunden wir die Küste. Die sich durch steinige Abschnitte mit riesigen Felsbrocken auszeichnet. Danach besuchen wir den Leuchtturm von Trézien, der einen herrlichen Weitblick bieten soll, aber wegen der Mittagspause geschlossen war. Deshalb fahren wir direkt weiter zum Hafen von Porscav.
Auch hier wieder das gleiche Bild; Sandstrände, Felsen, Fischerboote. Dennoch unterscheidet sie sich von der vorherigen Landschaft und stellt ihren einzigartigen Charakter zur Schau.
Bei Argenton führen eine Reihe von Halbinseln ins Meer. Ein altes steinernes Zollhaus erinnert an vergangene Zeiten
Nördlich von Penfoul erstreckt sich eine Bucht mit feinem Sand tief in das Landesinnere. Die Bucht wird zum Surfen genutzt, was einer hier angesiedelten Surf-Schule zu verdanken ist.
Entlang der Touristenküste erreichen wir den kleinen Hafen von Portsall.

1001 Escapades: Le cairn de Gavrinis, Morbihan (56), la chapelle Sixtine du néolithique.
Construit il y a près de 6 000 ans, bien avant Stonehenge et les célèbres pyramides d’Égypte ou encore les Moaïs de l’île de Pâques, le cairn de Gavrinis est une architecture funéraire de pierre sèche, abritant une sépulture.
L’un des plus exceptionnels sites préhistoriques de France, avec ses nombreuses gravures qui ornent les pierres dressées, dont certains parlent carrément de la chapelle Sixtine du néolithique.

Vandaag rijden we naar Saint Cado in Bretagne. De camping daar is heel mooi gelegen, vlak bij het dorpje St. Cado. Het hoogtepunt daar is het eiland met het kerkje, een monument en vele leuke huisjes zonder dat het heel toeristisch is. Het eiland is met een vaste brug aan het land verbonden. Heel bijzonder is ook het huisje dat bij vloed helemaal door het water wordt omringt. Dit is een video die je moet zien en we vinden het leuk als je iets schrijft in de commentaren

Pour sa deuxième édition, Bannières d’Artistes proposait plus de 70 œuvres à découvrir en flânant librement dans les rues d'une cité médiévale de Bourgogne du sud.
Initiée en 2019, la manifestation prenait cette année de l’ampleur avec 38 artistes de 5 nationalités différentes, actifs tant au niveau régional que national et international, pour une durée de 4 mois.
Petit clin d’œil au Street Art et détournant un support habituellement utilisé par la publicité, cette exposition en plein ciel est l’occasion d’une jolie balade et d’un rare moment de proximité avec les œuvres d’artistes vivants.

Aire de Plougonvelin Motorhome Area (Finistère, Bretagne)
Alors, à #Plougonvelin, une super aire qui nous a été recommandée par des camping-caristes rencontrés à Formerie (voir notre vidéo sur cette aire bien sympa: Certainement la plus belle vue qu'on ait jamais eue sur une aire. Un plaisir de se réveiller avec la mer et le soleil, et des couleurs différentes tous les jours ! Que du bonheur ! Et bonus, une douche et des toilettes sur l'aire, et très propres. Il y a aussi un évier extérieur pour la vaisselle. Bonus pour nous, une panne de barrière ! Apparemment, ça fait un petit moment que c'est comme ça. Une dame de la mairie est passée pour collecter notre dernier soir et nous a seulement fait payer pour cette nuit là, 9€. Et apparemment c'est le prix toute l'année.
Les emplacements, en herbe, sont délimités pour certains par des haies, d'autres ne le sont pas, et nous n'avons vu aucun marquage, ce qui en haute saison, pourraient rendre le parking un peu plus difficile qu'en ce moment où il y avait peu de monde. Par contre, à peu prés tous les emplacements ont droit à la superbe vue. Pour ce qui est de l'électricité, les bornes peuvent être assez loin de certains emplacements, et je ne sais pas s'il y en a vraiment assez pour tout le monde. Pour ce qui est de la vidange, tout bien, mais pour le remplissage, le robinet est le petit diamètre, alors il faut prévoir le bon embout. Pas de WiFi.
Nous on a bien aimé, c'est pratique pour aller à Brest (on a pris le bus), il y a une super plage à 300m en contrebas, une petit parc, le Fort de Berthaume (et une tyrolienne apparemment qui doit marcher l'été), des locations de kayaks, jet ski, etc à la plage, un marché à Trez Hir le dimanche (20 minutes à pied avec une super vue tout le long du chemin), et des commerces dans la ville de Plougonvelin, et bien sûr le GR34 juste à côté. Ah, et on est allés à vélo jusqu'à Saint-Mathieu et Le Conquet. Petite balade sympa.
Et il y a des caméras de sécurité autour des sanitaires.

So, in #Plougonvelin, a great area which was recommended to us by motorhome owners we met in Formerie (see our video on that very nice area: Certainly the most beautiful view we have ever had on an area. A pleasure to wake up with the sea and the sun, and different colors every day! What a treat! And bonus, a shower and toilet on the area, and very clean. There is also an outdoor sink for dishes. Bonus for us, a barrier failure! Apparently, it's been like this for a little while. A lady from the town hall came by to collect our last evening and only made us pay for that night, 9 €. And apparently that's the price all year round.
The pitches, in grass, are delimited for some by hedges, others are not, and we did not see any markings, which in high season, could make parking a little more difficult than at the moment. where there were few people. On the other hand, almost all the spots get the superb view. As for electricity, the terminals can be quite far from some pitches, and I'm not sure if there is really enough for everyone. As for the dumping area, all good, but for the filling, the tap is the small diameter, so you have to provide the right nozzle. No WiFi.
We liked it, it's practical to go to Brest (we took the bus), there is a great beach 300m below, a small park, the Fort de Berthaume (and a zip line apparently which must be open in summer), rentals of kayaks, jet skis, etc. at the beach, a market in Trez Hir on Sundays (20 minutes walk with a great view all the way), and shops in the town of Plougonvelin, and of course the GR34 just next door. Ah, and we went by bike to Saint-Mathieu and Le Conquet. Nice little ride.
And there are security cameras around the toilets.
