Ayutthaya is the most beautiful old capital of Thailand and a must visit during your trip to Thailand. We take a taxi from Bangkok and visit the most beautiful ancient temples in Ayutthaya. We first take the bike and then the tuk-tuk to Wat Chai Watthanaram, Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Sanphet, Wat Mongkong and the large reclining Buddha. We will also visit the famous Night Market of Ayutthaya to try the local specialties. Go on an adventure through the ancient Siamese Empire!
We are visiting Thailand on a one year world tour and we may even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands and Brazil. Thailand is already our fifteenth destination. Follow us on this world trip, first in Thailand and then to many more beautiful destinations! We also cross to Oceania and Africa! The most popular floating market is Damnoen Saduak, which is about a 1.5 hour drive from the city center of Bangkok.

King Boromracha Ii (1424-48) Had Wat Ratchaburana Built In Memory Of His Elder Brothers Ay And Yi, Who Were Killed In A Duel Over The Succession To The Throne. Columns And Walls Of The Wiharn Still Stand, As Do Some Ruined Chedis. The Large Prang, With Its Fine Figured Stucco Portraying Nagas Supporting Garudas, Is Exceptionally Well Preserved.

Ayutthaya is one of Thailand's most important historical attractions and yet not that many tourists actually know anything about it. Just an hours drive outside of Bangkok lies the incredible ancient city that was once Thailand's (formerly known as Siam) capital city. Unfortunately when the Siamese army lost to the Burmese army, the city was left for ruin. Thankfully over time it began to be restored and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. If you are visiting Bangkok, I would highly recommend taking a day or two to visit this incredible place because it is like stepping back in time to the kingdom of Siam.
