Phek district is about 65 kilometres from Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Phek is the district headquarter and the other main town is Pfutsero.
Pfutsero can be reached directly from Dimapur by shared taxis but there is just one service in a day. Kohima has relatively more choices. A state transport bus plies between Kohima and Pfutsero but it leaves early in the morning.
There are shared taxis available from Kohima. It is better to check with the locals about the taxi stands as the location may change from the previous one.
Private taxis may be hired also but this is an expensive option unless few people are sharing the taxi.
Options for accommodation in Pfutsero are very limited, just a handful of guesthouses are there.
Tourist complex is a good guest house, below are the numbers for booking;

There is no facility to stay in the villages, the only way possible is that if anyone has any local contacts and the family is willing to host the person. These villages can be visited on a day trip from Pfutsero , although staying here will definitely be a wonderful experience.
These are very remote areas so the facilities are very basic. The wealth of this region lies in its nature and the people of this land.

In this vlog, I have visited the Coldest Inhabited Place Of Nagaland - Pfutsero where I met amazing people - Aato & Zechete and they showed me the incredible Pfutsero. Aato has shared his experience in this vlog. I am so thankful to Aato and Zechete for making my Nagaland adventures so memorable.
But I fell sick and because of that, I had to end my Nagaland trip. But I will visit Nagaland again and then I will explore the more unexplored parts of Nagaland.
Pfutsero is a hill station in Nagaland located at an altitude of 2134 meters above mean sea level on the Patkai range which is the longest mountain range in the state. A part of the Phek district, Pfutsero is 70 km away from the capital Kohima.
Pfutsero is surrounded by hills and a climate that can mesmerize any traveler. The natural beauty of the place is awesome as the hills are covered with greenery all around. Pfu-Tse literally translates in the Khezha language into “a new place”. Pfutsero is credited to be the coldest inhabited place in Nagaland as the temperature usually drops below zero during the nights.
