Entre los objetos encontrados, destacan ofrendas para aluxes, esta especie de duendes en los que los mayas aún creen, los guardianes de las milpas.
Se llega por la carretera que va desde Progreso a Telchac Puerto, al pasar por la Laguna Rosada (parada recomendada para ver flamencos) se encuentra la desviación a Xcambó.

Discovering southern Mexico in 10 days (HD)
Well known Mexican regions - Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Campeche. We started in Cancun - city and beaches all around are destroyed by mass tourism - mostly accesible only with hotel clubcards - don't expect any true culture experience locals are cumulated at one beach out of 50. One of the wors places is very busy triangle Cancun - Chitzen Iza - Tulum (run run run away! and find your own way). If you travel further from this triangle (Merida, Uxmal, Rio Lagartos, Peto) you will experince real culture, nature, and nice local people.

This time we land in Mérida, Yucatán.
When leaving Cuba we had a flight booked back to Cancun but noticed there was a flight to Mérida just two hours later. With a bit of luck and persistence we were able to change our flight! The airport in Havana isn't exactly a technological wonder so there was a lot of waiting in line, shuffling of papers and crossing of fingers. Thankfully we had JUST the right amount of CUC left over and on hand to pay the fee to switch flights. Paying by card isn't a thing yet in Cuba
.
Mérida, the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatán. We spent three nights in this super-charming, colonial city. Delicious food, friendly locals, and a really cool place to visit for a day or two.
We lucked out and happened to be there on a festival weekend so the streets were alive with dancers. But we hear there are so many things to do in Merida all year round that chances are you'll also luck out and be able to see some kind of cool festival for yourself on any given month.
The Plaza Grande was a great central spot where many Meridians and tourists alike congregate to relax day and night. At night it is so beautifully lit up, it feels magical.
Palacio Municipal, Merida, the long, shaded balcony of the municipal building was a great place to capture a nice panoramic view of Merida’s Plaza Grande and chill out in the shade and enjoy the sound of the birds. It is such a beautiful balcony.
The Lucas de Galvez market is something that should be experienced! We discovered the most delicious tortas ever in that market. So good that we went back for breakfast again and again. The name of the place was, Taqueria, “El Amanecer”.

Colonia Juárez is one of the better–known neighbourhoods in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City. Built as an aristocratic enclave of 19th-century mansions, Colonia Juárez today is a dynamic area that draws both punks and young professionals. Todays walking tour is approximately 1 hour.
As we walk we we cross the busy and lively Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico Cities major avenue. On the other side we enter Roma Norta on Calle Genova, a famous Mexican street that is home to gay-friendly businesses, sidewalk bars and lively nightclubs. This area is one of Mexico City's primary shopping districts as well as nightclub areas.
After making our way through the bustling district we take a walk below Zona Rosa's major transit terminal into the Glorieta de los Insurgentes Circle. Glorieta de Insurgentes is a large roundabout formed by pedestrian walk around, Metrobús loops, Underground Metro, automobiles and heavy transport meeting at the same point.

Nos va ha enseñar cómo elaboran los Tamales en su pequeño restaurante ¡Valen la pena porque son exquisitos!
La palabra tamal proviene del Náhuatl tamalli y significa envuelto.
El tamal es un alimento de origen mesoamericano preparado generalmente a base de masa de maíz o de arroz rellena de carnes, vegetales, frutas, salsas y otros ingredientes. Son envueltas en hojas vegetales como de mazorca de maíz o de plátano, bijao, maguey, aguacate, canak... y cocida en agua o al vapor. Pueden tener sabor dulce o salado.
En la era precolombina , los mexicas comían tamales con estos ingredientes: pavo, flamenco, rana, ajolote, tuza, conejo, pescado, huevos de pavo, miel, frutas, calabaza y frijoles, así como sin relleno.
Existe evidencia de que las culturas predominantes en toda la región de Mesoamérica que llevaron el maíz a otras culturas y regiones también llevaron consigo platos y formas de cocinar el maíz. Como el tamal es un método sencillo de cocción del maíz, es posible que haya sido llevado desde esta región a América Central y del Sur. Sin embargo, según los arqueólogos Karl Taube, William Saturno y David Stuart los tamales podrían datar del año 100 a. C. Ellos encontraron referencias pictóricas en el Mural de San Bartolo, en Petén, Guatemala.
