Saarbrücken is the capital and largest city of the state of Saarland, Germany. Saarbrücken is Saarland's administrative, commercial and cultural centre. he city is situated next to the French border at the heart of the metropolitan area of Saarland. Saarbrücken was created in 1909 by the merger of three towns, Saarbrücken, St. Johann, and Malstatt-Burbach. It used to be the industrial and transport centre of the Saar coal basin. Products included iron and steel, sugar, beer, pottery, optical instruments, machinery, and construction materials.
Historic landmarks in the city include the stone bridge across the Saar (1546), the Gothic church of St. Arnual, the 18th-century Saarbrücken Castle, and the old part of the town, the Sankt Johanner Markt (Market of St. Johann). Twice in the 20th century Saarbrücken was separated from Germany: in 1920–35 as capital of the Territory of the Saar Basin and in 1947–56 as capital of the Saar Protectorate.
Some of the closest cities are Trier, Luxembourg, Nancy, Metz, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe and Mannheim. Saarbrücken is connected by the city's public transport network to the town of Sarreguemines in France, and to the neighboring town of Völklingen, where the old steel works were the first industrial monument to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994 — the Völklinger Hütte. The city is served by Saarbrücken Airport (SCN), and since June 2007 ICE high speed train services along the LGV Est line provide high speed connections to Paris from Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof. Saarbrücken's Saarbahn (modelled on the Karlsruhe model light rail) crosses the French–German border, connecting to the French city of Sarreguemines.

A urban exploring video made with the gopro hero 7 form an abandoned coal mine in Belgium.
Some history:
The Coal mine du Gouffre (No. 10) is the main and last colliery company of Charbonnages du Gouffre. It is located at Châtelet Belgium, Walloon Region in the province of Hainaut. It was operated from 1916 to 1969. The concrete building is built in 1934. After closure, the site was converted into a zoo between 1979 and 1982 before becoming a site vehicle dismantling.
It could extract 145 000 tons every year.
In the sixties, the capacity of the coal mine No. 10 has been reduced : in 1963, it could only extracts 83 000 tons per year. It has been definitively closed on March 31, 1969. The seat No. 7, the last of the compagny, has been closed on July 15, 1969.

Saarbrücken - Sehenswürdigkeiten der Landeshauptstadt des Saarlandes
Auf unseren Rundgang durch Saarbrücken schauen wir uns u.a. das Rathaus St. Johann mit Phönixbrunnen, die Basilika St. Johann, das Saarländische Staatstheater, das Schloss Saarbrücken und die Ludwigskirche in Alt-Saarbrücken an. Bei der von Martin Gropius entworfenen Bergwerksdirektion endet unser Besuch in der Universitätsstadt an der Saar.

Ökosee Dillingen Saar | toller Rundwanderweg | Saarland
Der Dillinger See (auch Ökosee Dillingen) ist ein See in Dillingen/Saar im Landkreis Saarlouis. Der 23 ha große See liegt im ca. 80 ha großen Vogelschutzgebiet, am Westrand der Stadt zwischen dem Stadtteil Pachten und der Saar in einer ehemaligen Auenlandschaft. Der See verläuft von Süden nach Norden entlang der Saar. Im Norden des Sees befindet sich eine etwa 2 ha große Insel. Im Süden begrenzt die L355 den See. Der See ist dicht von Bäumen und Büschen umwachsen und hat ausgeprägte Schilfzonen.
Der See dient vielen Vögeln als Lebensraum. Neben Höckerschwänen, Enten- und Gänsearten kommen auch Kormorane und diverse Reiher, Störche, Greifvögel, Dommeln, Rallen und Möwen sowie zahlreiche Singvogelarten vor. Auch zahlreiche Insekten- und Fledermausarten sowie Amphibien und Reptilien nutzen den See als Lebensraum. Zu den seltenen Arten der Pflanzenwelt zählen der Rions Wasserhahnenfuß und die Zerbrechliche Armleuchteralge.

Wir beginnen unseren Besuch in St. Ingbert (rund 36.000 Einwohner - Saarland) in der Kaiserstrasse. Dort schauen wir uns u.a. die katholische St. Engelbert Kirche und den Bierbrunnen an. Später steht die neogotische Kirche St. Josef und die Alte Brauerei von 1810 auf unserem Programm.

I took the SNCF Ouigo train from Paris to Strasbourg in France. The cheap ticket was 22 euros for a one way trip. SNCF is the French national railway. A Petite-Rosselle, le Parc Explor Wendel est situé en plein cœur du bassin houiller lorrain.
Musée Les Mineurs Wendel
Les espaces d’exposition du musée Les Mineurs Wendel sont installés dans l’ancien bâtiment administratif du siège Wendel, au cœur du hall des mineurs, des bains douches, des salles des pendus, de la lampisterie ...
Ces lieux évoquent l’histoire du charbon en Lorraine entre le XVIIIe et le début du XXIe siècle, la vie quotidienne des mineurs, les politiques sociales des compagnies minières ainsi que les métiers du jour et du fond.
Près de 160 objets du quotidien, machines, maquettes, films, témoignages et photographies mettent en lumière l’univers si particulier des mineurs de charbon en Lorraine. Les visiteurs suivent le parcours du mineur avant sa descente dans les différentes salles conservées dans leur état d’origine, la compréhension des lieux étant assurée par des bornes sonores. L’ensemble du parcours est traduit en allemand et en anglais.
La Mine Wendel
La Mine Wendel présente une reconstitution fidèle des différentes techniques d’exploitation du charbon utilisées jusqu’à la fermeture de la dernière mine de charbon française, La Houve, en 2004.
Tout au long de leur visite « au fond », les visiteurs découvrent les galeries de creusement et d’exploitation, les machines monumentales et du matériel en situation. Ils sont ainsi immergés dans l’ambiance du travail des gueules noires, sous la protection de sainte Barbe qui les accueille à l’entrée des galeries.

Last 15th September 2021 I have visited Stiring-Wendel in France. Stiring-Wendel is a neighbouring city of France and Germany. I have spent there almost three to four hours. I have seen the residential area of Stiring-Wendel and also seen one school. It’s a nice and clean city but I think it’s the poor city to compare with Germany, although I didn’t visit any city in France.
