LES BAUX DE PROVENCE ???? France ????Un des plus beaux villages de France
Je vous propose une visite des villes et villages Français dont certains sont remarquables et font partie des Plus Beaux Villages de France
Les Baux-de-Provence sont une commune française, située dans le département des Bouches-du-Rhône en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
Situés dans le massif des Alpilles, Les Baux sont aujourd'hui principalement un site touristique plus qu'un lieu de vie. Ils adhèrent à l'association Les Plus Beaux Villages de France et accueillent plus d'un million et demi de visiteurs par an. La commune compte 450 habitants, dont 22 vivent encore dans l'enceinte des Baux.
La commune est centrée autour d'un village situé sur un éperon rocheux, début d'un plateau — premier contrefort de la chaîne des Alpilles — qui surplombe de 200 m la campagne des environs.
La commune est dominée par une vaste forteresse, le Château des Baux, aujourd'hui en ruines, ouvrant une large vue sur les plaines du sud, vers Arles et la Camargue proche.
Les capacités défensives des Baux en font depuis toujours un site attrayant pour l'habitat humain. Des traces d'habitat ont été retrouvées et datées de 6000 av. J.-C.
Au Moyen Âge, il devint la place forte d'un domaine féodal contrôlant 79 villes et villages des alentours. La forteresse fut construite du XIe au XIIIe siècle sur une vaste étendue de sept hectares.

Exterior
With a large interior courtyard on the east side and a large garden on the west side, the 2200 m² of this property have several charming corners to enjoy the outdoors from sunrise to sunset. You can enjoy an aperitif in the summer lounge in the shade of the plane tree, or enjoy dinner under the shaded terrace, or even relax by the pool with a glass of rosé.
Pool
The large 10 x 5m swimming pool will delight young and old alike. With a large terrace where you will find sun lounges and parasol, it is surrounded by greenery and flowers for a peaceful landscape during your swim.
Interior
This Mas of 250m² is on three floors. On the ground floor, you will find on your right a large well-equipped kitchen, with a scullery and direct access to the first summer terrace. On your left, you will find a first reading room and its fireplace, then a second leisure room with a television.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, both of which overlook the garden and pool. On the second floor, you will find two other spacious bedrooms, which share a common bathroom, and benefit from the same view of the garden.

BARGING THROUGH FRANCE - VAUCLUSE
Host Richard Goodwin continues his adventure through France by river. In this episode, Richard travels to undiscovered Vaucluse.
Pernes Les Fontaines has over forty fountains, four of which are classified as historic monuments. One of these is the Cormorant Fountain and well worth a look if you are ever in the area.
Not far away lives a very amazing woman who repairs 'boutis' which are embroidered bedspreads. Nadine describes boutis as sculptures on cloth. As she stitches she explains that the work she does is extremely calming because she says our life should be at the speed of our hands. The bedspreads get their name from the needle used. The top layer of the bedspread is cambric and the bottom layer is hemp and the 'sculpture' is made by stuffing the gaps with cotton. Nadine really knows her stuff about the boutis she repairs and if you want to know how to do this she is the one to follow and you'll find out most things from this video.
In the little village of St Didier they still make nougat in the traditional way. The Silvain Brothers grow their own almonds and then they make this delicious concoction the way their grandmother made it at Christmas time. One of the brothers handles the bees and produces the honey that goes into the nougat. This is a really worthwhile product and I very much hope people still have the chance to munch on this delicacy in a hundred years time.
Another treasure living and working in this little village is a fourth generation bird whistle maker. Bernard Raymond used to be a professional musician and now he makes 120,000 bird whistles a year. He has many visitors to his little workshop and to keep them amused and to explain what he is doing he has developed a show where he plays all the whistles and shows what you can do with them. We see his show and then go out to local lake where he demonstrates his whistles and how they work. Bernard is a very talented man and well worth the visit if you are fortunate enough to be in St Didier.

[EN] Vacqueyras is a Provencal town located about 30 km north-east of Avignon and 10 km north-west of Carpentras. It's mostly known of the production of the white and red wines (Vacqueyras AOC) - there's a huge vineyard area which surrounds this town. The town itself is small, but worth visiting, if you are nearby. There's a castle from 14th century located on the topmost place of the town. Nearby you can find interesting, old church.
