10 Things That SHOCK Tourists about The South

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

The Five Boroughs of New York City: A Virtual Tour of the City's Diversity

Welcome to a virtual tour of the five boroughs of New York City - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. In this video, we will take you on a journey through the diverse neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and cultural institutions that make each borough unique. So, sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the city that never sleeps.

First up is Manhattan, the most densely populated borough of New York City. Known as the financial capital of the world, Manhattan is home to some of the most recognizable landmarks, including the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and Times Square. But Manhattan is much more than just skyscrapers and tourist attractions. It is a melting pot of cultures, with diverse neighborhoods like Chinatown, Little Italy, and Harlem. Take a stroll through Central Park or the High Line, and you'll see why Manhattan is such a beloved part of New York City.

Next, we head over to Brooklyn, the most populous borough of New York City. Brooklyn has undergone a transformation in recent years, becoming a hub for creatives, entrepreneurs, and foodies alike. From the trendy neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Bushwick to the historic brownstones of Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights, there is no shortage of things to do and see in Brooklyn. Be sure to check out the Brooklyn Bridge and the Coney Island boardwalk while you're here.

Moving on to Queens, the largest borough of New York City by area. Queens is a true melting pot, with over 170 languages spoken here. This diversity is reflected in the many ethnic enclaves, including Little India, Astoria, and Flushing. Queens is also home to some of New York City's most famous landmarks, including the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the iconic neon sign at the Pepsi-Cola sign in Long Island City.

Heading north, we arrive at the Bronx, known as the birthplace of hip hop and home to the famous Yankee Stadium. The Bronx is also home to some of the city's most beautiful parks, including Van Cortlandt Park and Pelham Bay Park. The Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden are also must-see destinations for visitors to the borough. But perhaps what makes the Bronx truly unique is its vibrant arts and culture scene, with institutions like the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture.

Finally, we make our way to Staten Island, the southernmost borough of New York City. Despite being only a ferry ride away from Manhattan, Staten Island feels worlds apart, with a slower pace of life and more green spaces than any other borough. Be sure to check out the historic neighborhoods of St. George and Tottenville, and don't miss a visit to the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.

As we conclude our tour of the five boroughs, we hope you have gained a new appreciation for the diversity and vibrancy of New York City. From the hustle and bustle of Manhattan to the laid-back charm of Staten Island, there truly is something for everyone in this incredible city. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you soon in the Big Apple!

SEEING IS BELIEVING! Discovering the Amazing Past and the Exciting Present of Pelham, Georgia USA!

The city of Pelham, located in Southwest Georgia, proved to be a treasure of unforgettable experiences. The early 1900 structures found throughout the city has many stories to be told, perhaps even hauntingly spine-tingling stories. And speaking of haunted, DON'T BE AFRAID of the length of this video, because I feel that it's flow will entertain you till the end! You don't want to miss the amazing opportunity to explore the 4-story downtown icon known as the Hand Trading Company building. If you're reading this, then you will also appreciate my tour through the Carnegie Library. And you also don't want to miss the final chapter of my adventure. It is where we visit the old Pelham City Cemetery. We will get to peek inside of its only walk-in style mausoleum. A city that started by being a train rest stop, has always strived to be an unstoppable driving force! JOIN ME IF YOU DARE!

I want to thank my brother and his grandson for being a part of my video.

I want to thank the friendly and helpful staff at the Pelham Chamber of Commerce for taking the time to tell me about some of Pelham's past. And thanks for the copy of The Building of a Town by Marion D. Rogers for helping me keep my facts straight.

And of course, I again want to thank all the staff of idp Properties for allowing to explore Pelhams greatest landmark, the Hand Trading Company building.

A few extra facts:
Larrabee Davenport Hand, J L Hand's son who is buried in the Hand Mausoleum died on 21 August 1991. He was a City Councilman from 1924 to 1948. He was also a charter member of the Rotary Club.

Judson Larrabee and Emma Graves Collinsworth Hand were married in 1877 and had 3 children: Florence, Irene and Judson Leland. Emma died on 27 February 1897 at age 38.
J L then married Florence Mae Hollis in 1898. They had 9 children: Virginia, Larrabee Davenport, Katherine, Frederick, Columbus, Benjamin, Henry, Alice and Clara. Florence Mae died on 10 Mar 1969 at 91 years of age.

The Hand Mansion, which was located just across Hand Avenue, was built by the Atlanta based Architect firm Hentz, Reid and Adler. The house was completed in 1885. This company built the Swan House which is located in Atlanta and was used in the movie The Hunger Games. So, there was no doubt that this structure was immaculate. Just what if it still remained. Now, just a memory.
