If you’re looking for jewelry, unique souvenirs, healing crystals or home decor this is the best store in Brazil. Brazil is the worlds largest producer of precious stones, crystals and minerals. They are beautiful and in abundance here. Legep Mineração has everything you can think of. The store is amazing by itself and made a great field trip for my kids. We watched a few YouTube videos on how crystals and gemstones are formed in the earth. Then we went to Legep and had a treasure hunt where each of the kids had to find 10 different gemstones. We had fun, learned a lot and saw some amazing huge gemstones. A must see if you’re in Rio.

Worlds Best Selfie Location Has 6 Hour Long Wait Queues
Nestled away off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is Pedra do Telégrafo, which is portugese for Telegraph Stone, which is one of the most popular photo opps in South America.
This particular hanging rock over a cliff, is constantly flooded by tourists who wait in line to take pictures while hanging off the stones edge.
But the cliff isn't actually a cliff at all, in truth, the rock is about 2m above the ground, even if you fall, nothing serious will happen.
But when a photo is taken from the just right angle, cropping out the rocky ground below, it can fool people into thinking, that the people in the photo took a great risk just to get that shot.
Pedra do Telegrafo is atop a 354mtr hill and can take about an hour to hike up to the rock, which is located in Pedra Branca State Park in Rio, which is about an hour’s drive west from the tourist area of Rio de Janeiro.
►How to Get to Pedra do Telegrafo, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)
To get there, you can take a bus to Barra de Guaratiba, walk a distance to a rather inaccessible area, find your way through a run-down neighbourhood, getting frustrated with the lack of English speakers, hike up the hill, to find a long queue already formed (it was reported that the queue can get up to 6 hours long).
1. From your neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, take a bus to Terminal Alvorada.
2. Find a blue express bus to Malto Alto station.
3. Take the local bus 867 towards Barra de Guaratiba.
4. Alight at Barra de Guaratiba and walk towards the yellow church.
5. Take the stairs besides the church to an alleyway.
6. The alleyway is the start of your hike.
7. Follow the yellow painted footprints.
8. Take your highly sought-after, extremely deceiving shots!

Buzios is definitely a must if you come to Brazil. This beautiful and affluent beach town is just a 3hr drive from Rio de Janeiro and has been visited by celebrities from all over the world. The town sits on a peninsula with over 20 beaches, great restaurants and the best nightlife in the surrounding area. Pedra da Gávea is the tallest mountain in the world that ends in the ocean. We hiked to the top with our good friends the Mac’s Explore. Check out their amazing adventures and incredible photography.

Gávea is a difficult hike but once you’re at the top the views are seriously breathtaking.
The last 30 yards of the climb is straight stone jetting out at the top. For this part you need a guide or an experienced climber to get to the very top. There are climbing hooks embedded in the rocks and usually experienced people to help you up.
It’s about three hours up and three hours down. The view is absolutely worth it! Pack a lunch and relax at the top for a while.
I have climbed Gávea twice! Both times were incredible! I highly recommend it.
