Owned by the Riverside Metropolitan Museum, this 1891 Victorian showplace depicts life in turn-of-the century Riverside. An elegant reminder of the affluent homes which once graced Magnolia Avenue, Heritage House began as a project of the Riverside Museum Associates, a volunteer support group of the Riverside Metropolitan Museum. Restored and maintained in a manner reflective of its nineteenth-century construction, this grand house is now a meticulously researched example of historic tastes, values, and lifestyle. Mr. and Mrs. James Bettner settled in Riverside in the late 1870s, within a decade of the young town's founding.

Escape to the Castlemaine State Festival with V/Line
V/Line is tipping a surge in patronage to the Goldfields region during the 2013 Castlemaine State Festival from 15 to 24 March.
With just 16 days until the festival begins, there is growing demand for show and V/Line rail tickets.
Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said travelling with V/Line to Castlemaine was one of the easiest ways to experience the festival with most major shows and acts within easy walking distance of the station.
When regional towns and cities offer high quality attractions and events, Melburnians love to get there with V/Line.
This was demonstrated last year with Bendigo's Grace Kelly Exhibition. I have no doubt it will be the case with the 2013 Castlemaine State Festival.
The State Government is a major sponsor of the biennial festival through Arts Victoria.
During the 2011 festival more than 3400 people travelled to Castlemaine on the train.
V/Line has continued its partnership with the festival and is the principal sponsor for the 2013 event.
V/Line's Acting CEO Ross Pedley said: V/Line is proud to be part of the event, bringing loyal, new and larger audiences from Melbourne and beyond to experience all that the festival and the region have to offer.
Regular trains allow people to travel to and from Castlemaine on the same day, but many festival goers choose to stay overnight or a few days before returning home.
Castlemaine State Festival Director Martin Paten said the 2013 festival would have something for everyone.
We have more than 800 artists in the Festival from local areas and across the globe. Set against the stunning backdrop of the goldfields region, events, exhibitions and performances utilise historic buildings and the breathtaking bush landscape -- the Festival is a truly unique experience. Mr Paten said.
The Castlemaine State Festival runs from 15 -- 24 March.

In April of 2022, AAPRCO organized an all private car and rare mileage excursion on the U.S. Sugar Corporation's South Central Florida Express Railroad.
SCFE had acquired and rebuilt a steam locomotive, the #148 Sugar Express, a retired former Florida East Coast Railway locomotive. The historic private cars traveled from Miami, FL, as an Amtrak special train and was handed over to the SCFE at Sebring, FL. The cars moved to Clewiston, FL, and spent several days traveling around the railroad.

The Waverley Cemetery, The self funded and iconic graveyard in Sydney
The Waverley Cemetery is located on top of the cliffs at Bronte in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The first interment occurred on 4 August 1877 and noted for its largely intact Victorian and Edwardian monuments. The size of 41 acres bounded by Trafalgar, Boundary and St Thomas streets. The cemetery is self-funded, deriving its income from interments – including burial, cremation, memorials and mausolea – of which there has been over 86,000. It contains the graves of many significant Australians including the poet Henry Lawson, Jules Archibald, founder of The Bulletin and benefactor of the Archibald Prize, nineteenth century poet Henry Kendall, the American actor William E. Sheridan, poet and author Dorothea Mackellar and author Ethel Pedley.
More than 137 years of operation remains a 100% self funded and with inspiration drawn from the reform movements occurring in London and Paris. It has never been funded by the public purse or council ratepayers, with individual graves maintained for a fee. The cemetery was a location in filming of the movie The Pyjama Girl Case in 1977, Spyforce in 1972, and in 1979 the cemetery was a location in filming of the movie Tim starring Mel Gibson. The cemetery has also been used for TV shows such as an Australian long-length episode of Baywatch and the Australian television series Home and Away. It was also used for filming of the movies Dirty Deeds and Bollywood Blockbuster Dil Chahta Hai.
This is one of Ken Unsworth's 'skeleton cyclist on a pole' variations for Sculptures by the Sea, titled 'there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip'. In daylight, the skeleton is white and the stash is in a big red bag. The background is Bronte Park and left (and out) of picture is Waverley cemetery.

Took a Metrolink San Bernardino Line westbound train 377 from San Bernardino station to Upland station (20-minute ride) and walked about 2.5 miles (4 km) on dark streets for an hour from Metrolink Upland station to Amtrak Ontario station (September 26, 2021)
