Walking in Camarines Sur NAGA CENTRO Bicol Philippines [4K]
I'm back in Camarines Sur in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. I plan to visit some of the places that I filmed the last time I was here, as well as some new places. Please bare with me as I will be doing a lot of travel these next few months and beyond. The biggest issue is the internet which is not as common or fast as it is in the Metro Manila area. At any rate, it's great to be back in Camarines Sur Bicol Region, so stay tuned for some content, because we all know that Metro Manila can get old fast, it's always nice to see new places in the Philippines =) Enjoy!

We escaped the city of #Naga to spend the day at a beautiful beach about an hour's drive from the city. The roads to #Pasacao Beach are in good shape, so it is easy to get there by car or jeepney. The quiet beach offers plenty of Cubos and a Sari-Sari store, where you can buy drinks and snacks. Sometimes local fishermen offer their fresh catch and even prepare it for you if you ask them to. The town’s name was also said to have been derived from “Pasok kayo”. This came from a native as an answer to a Spanish soldier’s query of the name of the place. Misunderstanding clouded the native’s remark when he meant to say that the soldier come up or come in.
The port of Pasacao is rich in stories on how it got its present name. Since the part is a bustling area, dock guards were stationed to maintain peace and order. These guards would usually shout “Pasa ikaw, Pasa ikaw” as instructions to passengers. This Spanish-Tagalog mixed up “pasa-ikaw” was mistaken by the passengers as the name of the place – Pasacao.
In a similar story as the first story, Pasacao came from “Pasa ikaw”. Some Spanish settlers while walking along the shore met a native. The settlers asked the native to pass on by saying “Pasa”. The native, on the other hand, wanted the Spaniards to go first by saying “ikaw”. Through a convenient usage, it became Pasacao. Still another story gives credence to the word “Pasangkay” as the origin of the town’s name. The travelers and traders often used it en route to Manila to ask owners of the sailboats along the shore of the village to let them ride. Pasangkay means the request of the people to get into the boat to travel. From the above-mentioned short atories, the name of the town Pasacao must have been derived from them. The Fil-American or Spanish law recognizing the legal existence of Pasacao believes.
Another story went around that fisherman who was asked by a Spanish sentry what were the contents of his basket. The fisherman answered “pasa-pasa”, the name of the fish, and simultaneously offered some by saying “ikaw” meaning to say if he wanted some. The sentry on the other hand interpreted the words “Pasa-pasa ikaw” as the name of the place. For long, the place was known among the soldiers as Pasa-pasa ikaw until it shortened to a more convenient Pasacao.

This is one of the resort of the Summer Capital of Camarines Sur..Surfers Paradise is good..pwede mag-overnight..if you have tent you can bring it and you can sleep sa gilid ng dagat..cottages are good..walang problema sa tubig..malakas yung tubig..yung room with 3 beds will cost you around P3,500 + Pesos/head na entrance fee..may tindahan sa loob if you want to buy something..I can Grade this Resort around 8 from scale of 1 to 10..sulit naman dito..mura na you can enjoy pa..yung medu mataas yung roon pero malaki naman,,,thanks for watching..
