PARAISÓPOLIS, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL - Part 3 of my 2022 Brazil Travel series comes from Paraisópolis, one of Brazil's largest favelas with a population estimated to be between 80-100k, located in São Paulo, Brazil's MEGACITY!
Yes, you read the title correctly - foreigner goes to a favela alone and this is what happened! Note that I do NOT advise visiting a favela solo. It is best to visit a favela on an organised tour OR with a local who can show you around. These areas are somewhat if not totally neglected by local governments, therefore they are generally run by cartels or other organisations, meaning as a foreigner, you may be in danger. Is Brazil dangerous? Is Brazil safe? We should ask these questions and remember our risk tolerances are different. I have been filming in places like this for years, you may not feel as comfortable as me.
The intention of this video was to quash misconceptions of favelas or slums (or less affluent areas - the word favela or slum can come across as derogatory) and to highlight a real POSITIVE going on right now. Brasil Favela Xpress is a company set up by Giva Pereira, a delivery service set up during the Covid-19 pandemic to allow access to deliveries and to create employment opportunities for locals. A FANTASTIC initiative! We also have some AMAZING Brazilian food, Pastel de Queijo!

???????? SANTOS! | BRAZIL'S BEST Lesser-known BEACH City? | Coffee, PELÉ and SCOTTISH streetcars!
???????? SANTOS, SÃO PAULO, Brazil - Today for episode 6 of my 2022 Brazil Travel series, we're visiting one of Brazil's lesser-known beach cities - Santos! The home of coffee, football legend Pelé and Scottish streetcars!
There are lots of things to do or activities in Santos to keep you occupied, such as the Monte Serrat funicular, awesome views, the coffee museum, Pelé museum and much more. It's the most pretty city to be honest, and from what I saw the beaches aren't spectacular, but it's still a welcome break from more commonly visited beaches in Rio. There's some great architecture and history though, especially if you're interested in the brazilian coffee trade or you are a football fan! If you're thinking about where to go in Brazil, Santos could be a good idea for your Brazil itinerary!

???????? SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL - Welcome to the beginning of my 3 MONTH trip travelling Brazil and day one in the insanely diverse São Paulo! This is the first video of (probably) over 30, starting off in the megacity of São Paulo (in the state of the same name). I'm a British/Polish guy who first visited São Paulo in 2009 and has been documenting life as a full-time traveller since 2016 - what are my impressions second time around?
If you've seen my previous videos, you'll know this isn't any old travel channel or Brazil vlog where we pretend to be surprised or only talk about positives to pander to locals for views. We look at reality! Plus, insane Brazilian food (comida brasileira such as the famous Mortadella Sandwich at the Municipal Market, Coxinha, Pasteis, Brigadeiros and more), history, architecture and REAL-LIFE issues affecting us all (sometimes difficult to discuss!).
In this video we take a general walk around and explore this insane Brazilian Megacity and explore central areas such as Centro, Liberdade and Avenida Paulista which all have to be on your itinerary for your Brazil trip. In future videos (as you can see in the intro), there are many more awesome videos to come including Interlagos and the history of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna, and a trip to a favela!

One of the best things about being in Brazil is the nature. Surprisingly, the huge metropolitan city of Sao Paulo has some of the most beautiful nature parks I've ever seen. In this video, I visit the Parque da Água Branca. Many locals have said this is one of the most beautiful parks in Sao Paulo. After visiting the park, I went out for food at a Retro 1950's style restaurant, Zé do Hamburger.
Uma das melhores coisas de estar no Brasil é a natureza. Surpreendentemente, a enorme cidade metropolitana de São Paulo tem alguns dos mais belos parques naturais que já vi. Neste vídeo, visito o Parque da Água Branca. Muitos moradores dizem que este é um dos parques mais bonitos de São Paulo. Depois de visitar o parque, saí para comer em um restaurante estilo retrô dos anos 1950, o Zé do Hambúrguer.

O pico fica a 1.519 metros de altitude e o visual lá de cima é deslumbrante, de onde é possível visualizar diversas cidades do Sul de Minas e do Estado de São Paulo.
O lugar reúne os apaixonados por voo livre, pois é perfeito para a prática dessa modalidade esportiva. Por ali é realizado campeonato anual que reúne atletas de todo o País.

???????? PINHEIROS & Vila Madalena - Welcome to São Paulo, Brasil for Part 4 of my 2022 Brazil Travel series! This time I'm in the 'bohemian areas' of Pinheiros and Vila Madalena, home to amazing street art, restaurants, nightlife, and the INSANE Beco do Batman (Batman Alley), a street art area dating back to the 80s full of colourful murals, particularly the Batman one!
In this Brazil travel video we also check out some awesome comida brasileira (brazilian food) such as mini Pão de queijo (cheese bread) and the ultimate chocolate extravaganza, BRIGADEIROS, which have an amazing story behind them!
We also visit the awesome Luz Station (although the area surrounding is not so awesome), a train station which was originally constructed in Scotland! If you're looking for things to do or activities in Brazil and São Paulo, Pinheiros and Vila Madalena are ideal opportunities to see a different side of this multi-faceted city.
