ISLA DE LA PLATA DAY TOUR - BLUE FOOTED BOOBIES AND PUERTO LOPEZ // ECUADOR TRAVEL VLOG
We could not believe how many blue footed boobies we saw during our tour of Isla de la Plata! Our goal for this tour was to see how it compares to the Galapagos Islands, and we think it held up pretty well considering the price! Before even arriving to the island our boat was surrounded by dozens of dolphins, so we knew we were in for an epic day of animal sightings. The moment we arrived to the island we found the iconic blue footed boobie and quickly discovered that we couldn't look anywhere without spotting one! What surprised us most about this tour was the frigate birds that we saw for the first time on the island - they are very strange looking creatures.
After a quick lunch we jumped into the water to go snorkelling with sea turtles, just like you would do on the Galapagos Islands! Catching them on camera was nearly impossible, but it was an awesome experience to know these giant beauties were swimming among us.
