Maardu - a likable small city with good infrastructure for pedestrians located near Tallinn (15 km)
Maardu is small but a likable city close to Tallinn. I was positively surprised by the wide pedestrian paths, many trees, green areas, and children's playgrounds.
You can rent an electric car like the one I used and many more from ELMO rent

HOLIDAY VILLAGE Pullijärve in Võru County | South Estonia
Pullijärve Holiday Village is located in wild nature, in Misso village at Võru county, southeast of Estonia. It’s a perfect vacation place for everyone who loves nature and spending time in the fresh air.
There are many activities at holiday village: one kilometer long walk path, playing volley ball and soccer on the grounds and stadium, playing footgolf, tennis or petanque, swimming in Pullijärve Lake, riding canoe, boat or water bike and fishing pike, perch, tench and eel. Pullijärve is the best place for summer or winter corporate parties, celebrating anniversaries and recreational time with your family!
Pullijärve Holiday Village is 10 km from Latvian and Russian borders on the Riga-Pskov highway next to Misso village from Riga side. By the legend the lake (Pullijärve means Bull Elk Lake) was named after the bull elk that was killed by the wolves on the ice of the lake. Our own legend has happy ending. “And if the bull is still alive, you can see it occasionally riding the boat on the lake…”

Vastseliina Episcopal castle and more, visiting the highest point in Estonia- Suur Munamägi
Suur Munamägi is the highest point in Estonia. With a 50km range view on all sides, the panorama is incredible to include a vast area of forest land and the closest town Võru. The access to the top of the observation tower is through a stairway or through an elevator. A café on the bottom of the hill: Kohvik Suur Muna is the perfect spot for a lunch. Vastseliina castle is a medieval themed complex with a museum, pilgrim house, castle ruins and nature trails. The fortress dates back to the 14th century which unfortunately is not in its best shape. Since the miraculous event from the 13th century, there have been pilgrimage trips from all over Estonia to this place. The museum houses a good collection of pieces explaining the history of the area and its happenings, the bonus to me was the possibility to touch and even try on some of the pieces like the sword.

Tallinn the capital of Estonia, nestled just off the Baltic Sea, in the gulf of Finland. Tallinn was an unexpected jewel with its' fairytale architecture, cobbled streets and friendly people.
St Petersburg is only 200 miles to the West, and the Russian influence can be seen in its Russian Orthodox Church and history of occupation. Tallinn dates back to the 1100s and Estonia only became a republic in 1990.
Despite its quaint laid back charm, Tallinn is a digital hub and the birthplace of Skype, and also the capital of culture in 2011.
With pavement cafes and bars at every-turn there are plenty of opportunities to sample local fare and watch the world go by.
I loved exploring the shops, which were full of beautiful treasures.
We visited the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and while an overzealous parishioner tried to get me kicked out for just holding a camera, Dan took these video shots in peace :)
Nestled within its ancient city walls, with its gatehouse towers still standing, it’s no surprise Tallinn’s old town is a world heritage site.

The Paide castle began construction in 1265 and was the centre of the stronghold in Paide village. It became a symbol of the village as well as Järva County and is even part of the county coat of arms.

TALLINN, Estonia - One Of The Most Beautiful Cities In The World!
Here are some of the short film snippets I took with my digi camera and phone, merged together to make one ten-minute video showing just some of the highlights of what, to me, is one of the most gorgeous cities on the planet, Estonia's beautiful capital city Tallinn (there's no commentary or music added - I wouldn't even know how to add that - just the sights and sounds of the city!) I absolutely love Tallinn and hope to return when I'm able. These clips are mostly from my stay there in March 2019, with just a few clips from my first (quick) visit there last September (2018). Tallinn is such a clean, laid back, relaxing city to visit. It's easy to see the old town on foot (although those old cobbled streets can be a bit tough on your feet!) but there are lots of buses and trams to travel around other parts of the city easily.
Tallinn really has everything - a gorgeous medieval walled town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) that is like something out of a fairy tale, along with very modern quarters with all the big stores, a large ferry port which is great to watch all the ferries coming and going from (you can take ferry daytrips to Helsinki). It has a zoo that is really cheap to visit (check out their new polar bear exhibit), wonderful castles and palaces (Tsarina Catherine's Kadriorg Palace is a must), excellent museums, tasty food, cheap, efficient transport systems, lots of great value hotels and the most gorgeous cakes I've ever eaten!!
There's such a range of differing architectural styles, from it's medieval days, with such beautiful Gothic and Baroque buildings everywhere, various remnants from it's Soviet occupation days and all the great modern buildings since the Iron Curtain fell. Plus, lots of those gorgeous quaint wooden houses you see all across the Baltic States. They're so pretty!
The nearby beach suburb of Pirita is also a must. A gorgeous soft sandy beach, beautiful woodlands and lovely marina.
Anyway, if you get the chance to go to Tallinn please do, you'll love it, I assure you! There is much more to Tallinn than I've included here, I just didn't get around to filming it all (I just took pics in some places). I also visited other towns around Estonia, like Haapsalu, Pärnu and Narva, which are all lovely, fascinating places. There's still plenty more I want to see in this great country, should I get the chance to return. :)

Estonia, is one of the smallest countries in europe, the capital city is Tallinn, Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. The Estonian capital was not always named Tallinn. Before 1918, when the country gained independence, it was known as Reval, thought to be of German origin. Tallinn’s medieval fort dates back to the 14th century. Originally it was 2.4km long, up to 16 metres high and three metres thick with 46 watch towers. It is so well preserved that today 1.9km remains, along with 20 observation towers.

We (Kadi-Liis & Merlin) took a tour around Tallinn to find the finest cakes and cutest cafés. And boy did we find some good ones!
Tallinn is filled with pretty and elegant cafés and bakeries, each one lovelier than the last. The café culture in the city has German influences (obviously due to the history). While in town, you must visit the local eateries, where delicious cakes are waiting for you!
