Palitana is very famous for the Jain Temples and every year thousands of peoples visits this holy place.
There are almost 3600 steps which you can to climb to reach at top of the hill and then you can visit number of Jain temples there.

Steps leading to Jain temple complex in Palitana, Gujarat, India.
One of the popular pilgrim centre for Jain's in India, the Palitana Jain Temple complex is situated at Shatrunjaya hill in the city of Palitana in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. It is said that the temple complex consists of around 863 marble-carved temples. The main temple of Palitana is dedicated to Rishabhanatha, the first Tirthankara; it is the holiest shrine for the Svetambara Murtipujaka sect of Jainism.

Palitana is a religious Jain city, in Bhavnagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located 50 km South-West of Bhavnagar city.
The Palitana temples of Jainism are located on Shatrunjaya by the city of Palitana in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. The city of the same name, known previously as Padliptapur, has been nicknamed City of Temples. Along with Shikharji in the state of Jharkhand, the two sites are considered the holiest of all pilgrimage places by the Jain community. As the temple-city was built to be an abode for the divine, no one is allowed to stay overnight, including the priests. Every Jain believes that a visit to this group of temples is essential as a once in a life time chance to achieve nirvana or salvation.
This site on Shatrunjaya hill is considered sacred by Jains and have hundreds of temples. There are approximately 863 marble-carved temples on the hills. It is said that 23 tirthankaras (a human being who helps in achieving liberation and enlightenment), except Neminatha (a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma), sanctified the hill by their visits. The main temple is dedicated to Rishabha, the first tirthankara; it is the holiest shrine for the Svetambara Murtipujaka sect. Digambara Jain have only one temple here.

We Almost Made it to the Top of Palitana ???????? | Solo Travel India | Gujarat Travel Vlog (Ep. 20)
I met a friend in Bhavnagar - and we took his Royal Enfield on a journey to Palitana. We attempted to climb to the top of the Shatrunjaya Hill, but we didn’t make it all the way to the top.
We turned back and went do visit a couple different nearby dams. We were invited in for tea by one of the dam employees.
We had a lot of fun - cruising around Palitana on the motorcycle and soaking up the views. Pretty cool day!

(EN) Palitana is a religious Jain city, Bhavnagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located 50 km South-West of Bhavnagar city and is a major pilgrimage centre for Jains. Palitana is the place where millions and millions of Jain sadhu and muni got salvation. The Palitana temples are considered the most sacred pilgrimage place (tirtha) by the Jain community. There are more than 1300 temples located on the Shatrunjaya hills, exquisitely carved in marble. The main temple on top of the hill, is dedicated to 1st tirthankar lord Adinath (Rishabdeva). On the top the Shatrunjai Hill is a cluster of Jain temples, built by generations of Jains over a period of 900 years, from the 11th century onwards. The temples are managed by the Anandji Kalyanji Trust of the Kasturbai Lalbhai group. From the foot of the hill to the top there are 3,800 and odd stone steps cut to facilitate climbing

જૈનો માટે પાલીતાણાના દેરાસરો સૌથી પવિત્ર તીર્થ મનાય છે.શત્રુંજય પર્વત ઉપર સુંદર કારીગરીતી સુશોભિત ૧૨૫૦ આરસના દેરાસરો છે. ડુંગરની ટોચ ઉપર રહેલું મુખ્ય દેરાસર પ્રથમ તીથઁકર આદિનાથ (ઋષભદેવ)નું છે. ભગવાનને માટે જ બનવેલા આ દેરાસરસંકુલ નગરમાં જે પર્વતની ટોચ ઉપર છે તેમાં કોઇપણ વ્યક્તિએ રાત રહેવાની છુટ નથી. પૂજારી પણ નહીં.
મોટેભાગના જૈનો ઝારખંડ (સમેતશિખર), માઉંટઆબુ કે ગિરનાર કરતાં પણ પાલિતણાને વધુ અગત્યનું માને છે. એવી માન્યતા છે કે દરેક જૈન વ્યક્તિએ એના જીવનકાળ દરમ્યાન એકવાર તો પાલીતાણાની યાત્રા કરવી જ જોઇએ.
ગોહિલ રાજ્પુતોના રજવાડાનું પાટનગર પાલીતાણા હતું. આ શહેર પરદેશીઓ માટે દેરાસર સંકુલ ના બેજોડ સ્થાપત્ય માટે આકર્ષણ જમાવે છે.પાલીતાણા શહેરમાં પણ ઘણાં દેરસરો અને હવે તો આધુનિક સુવિધાઓ વાળી ઘણી ધર્મશાળાઓ અને ભોજનશળાઓ છે.

Hastagiri is almost 17 kms far from Palitana and one of beautiful hill around the Shetrunjay river.
This temple is believed to be of the period of Dada Adinath Bhagwan and also one of the peaks of the Mt. Shatrunjay. Dada Adinath had visited here a number of times. It is said that Sri Bharat Chakravarthy who was his son founded this shrine. At that time, certainly a beautiful temple might have been constructed. The temple also might have been renovated later, several times.

The Palitana temples of Jainism are located on Shatrunjaya by the city of Palitana in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. The city of the same name, known previously as Padliptapur, has been nicknamed City of Temples. Along with Shikharji in the state of Jharkhand, the two sites are considered the holiest of all pilgrimage places by the Jain community. As the temple-city was built to be an abode for the divine, no one is allowed to stay overnight, including the priests. Every Jain believes that a visit to this group of temples is essential as a once in a life time chance to achieve nirvana or salvation.
This site on Shatrunjaya hill is considered sacred by Jains and have hundreds of temples.There are approximately 863 marble-carved temples on the hills. It is said that 23 tirthankaras (a human being who helps in achieving liberation and enlightenment), except Neminatha (a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma), sanctified the hill by their visits. The main temple is dedicated to Rishabha, the first tirthankara; it is the holiest shrine for the Svetambara Murtipujaka sect. Digambara Jain have only one temple here.

Palitana is located in Guarat near Bhavnagar and it is one of the holiest religious places of Jainism. There are more than 900 Jain temples located in Palitana. Some of the famous temples are Rishbanath temple, Hastgiri temple, Rohishala and many more. Most of the temples are located on the mountain range called Setrunjay Mountain.
Salangpur is a small village located near Bhavnagar in Gujarat. There is a very big, holy and famous Hanuman Temple known as Salangpur Kashtbhanjan Hanuman Mandir. Its a big premise which has many different temples along with rooms for accommodation, restaurant, bhojanalaya and some small shops.
