Le château de Champs-sur-Marne est caractéristique des maisons de plaisance du XVIIIème siècle bâties à la campagne, permettant un nouvel art de vivre. Construit de 1703 à 1708 par les architectes Pierre Bullet et Jean-Baptiste Bullet de Chamblain, à la demande du financier de Louis XIV, Paul Poisson de Bourvallais. Le château présente de somptueux décors rocaille, ainsi que des décors de chinoiseries peintes au milieu du XVIIIème siècle par Christophe Huet.
Un château meublé. Ses 900 pièces de collections et son mobilier estampillé des grands noms de l'ébénisterie en font un des châteaux les plus magnifiquement meublés d'Ile-de-France.
Il accueille d'illustres locataires : la princesse de Conti, les ducs de La Vallière, la marquise de Pompadour au XVIIIe siècle, et des hommes de lettres tels que Diderot , Voltaire, Chateaubriand et Proust.
Une restauration exemplaire. Le banquier Louis Cahen d'Anvers achète le domaine en 1895 et entreprend une importante campagne de restauration qu'il confie à l'architecte Walter Destailleur. Il complète cette restauration de collections et mobiliers de grande valeur. Charles Cahen d’Anvers, son fils donne le château à l’Etat en 1935. Aujourd’hui, la présentation des collections reflète l’art de vivre de la famille Cahen d’Anvers.
Une résidence présidentielle. Dès 1935, le château devient une résidence officielle de la Présidence de la République. Dès 1959, des chefs d'Etat étrangers y séjournent, sur l'invitation du général de Gaulle.
Des jardins remarquables. Ses jardins de 85 ha inspirés de Le Nôtre, dessinés vers 1710 par Desgot, sont restaurés en 1895 par Henri et Achille Duchêne. Ils sont labellisés jardin remarquable.
DÉCOUVRONS LA CASCADE À PÉRIGNY-SUR-YERRES (VAL-DE-MARNE ) 4K
La cascade de Périgny se trouve en bas du village, à proximité du moulin de Périgny, ouvrage médiéval et ancienne tannerie de peaux de lapin, aujourd’hui transformé en maison de campagne. La cascade servait à recueillir les eaux du ru Saint-Leu. Le site a été réaménagé en 2005. On y accède depuis le chemin du moulin, à Périgny-sur-Yerres.

The Bike's Ride #5 - La côte de La Rochelle à Fouras, un littoral sauvage et balnéaire ! | LPR
C'est parti pour la saison 2020 de The Bike's Ride avec un tout nouvel épisode destiné cette fois-ci à la côte sud de La Rochelle en partant du quartier portuaire sud de La Rochelle - Les Minimes afin de longer la côte Atlantique de communes en stations balnéaires avec au programme pour aujourd'hui la traversée d'Aytré-Plage avant de poursuivre par la Pointe du Chay pour arriver ensuite au charmant village d'Angoulins-sur/-Mer.
Nous poursuivrons par Châtelaillon-Plage, LA station balnéaire préconisée par les nombreux touristes venant sur La Rochelle et sa longue plage de sable.
Notre route continuera en longeant la côte de l'ancien quartier ostréicole typique Les Boucholeurs avant de quitter la Communauté d'Agglomération de La Rochelle avec le Marais d'Yves.
Enfin, nous terminerons notre long voyage en arrivant à la presqu'île et station balnéaire de Fouras-les-Bains rendue célèbre par le personnage du même nom dans l'émission Fort Boyard !

Ground floor
The main entrance for this house is currently from the covered terrace to the gable end of the house, and directly into the dining kitchen (25 sq m). With its tiled floors, range of fitted units and appliances the kitchen is practical and ready to use.
A door leads through to the spacious sitting room (47 sq m) which has ample space for both relaxing and more formal dining. With a wood burning stove and glazed doors opening to the garden this reception room suits entertaining in all seasons. From here there is a door leading though to the adjoining garage (35 sq m), where there is a WC and the possibility to create a separate entrance hall and further accommodation, should you wish to.
To the right of the kitchen, as you enter the house, is a smaller lounge (15 sq m) which would be equally well suited as an office space. From here the stairs rise to the first floor.
First floor
The 1st floor landing gives access to each of the four double-bedrooms. The master bedroom (15 sq m) also boasts an en-suite shower room with WC (4.5 sq m) and the three further bedrooms (16, 12 and 10 sq m) share the family bathroom (6.5 sq m), which is well appointed with bath, shower WC and washbasin. All the bedrooms are carpeted, and offer garden views, either to the front, rear or side of the property.
Exterior
To the side of the house is a 10m by 5m swimming pool with roman steps, the property has previously been rented out for summer holidays and so the pool fully conforms to modern safety regulations. An outbuilding runs along side one edge of the pool and this house the pump house, as well as ample storage for wood and gardening equipment.
Additionally there is a two-roomed cottage with WC and washbasin. This cottage could make a lovely guest annex with very little further work (it is already connected to a septic tank).
The rest of the ample garden runs to the rear of the house, and is in two parts, the part nearest the house is laid to lawn and has a variety of mature specimen trees and shrubs, a small stream boarders this garden from the rest of the land, which is fallow, and runs down to a second stream.
The house was recently re-roofed. The property is located in the heart of the village, but also manages to have open land to the rear, with a small shop located just a few minutes walk away, and the well equipped town of Matha a few minutes drive away, this property would make an ideal second home with high season letting potential.

The Sèvre Niortaise river and its mills
This charming little waterway is actually a coastal river that we invite you to explore here in a video. Out of all of its many mills, we stop to spend time at the one by which this tour starts: Moulin l’Abbé mill, the mechanisms of which are still working.
You are here at the edge of the Sèvre Niortaise river, which has its source around 15 kilometres away in the town of Sepvret. What looks like a small river here is actually a coastal river that runs for more than 158 km before flowing directly into the ocean in the Bay of Aiguillon, north of La Rochelle. In Melle, the Sèvre Niortaise is still winding and not especially deep. It becomes navigable downstream of Niort, where it and its tributaries form the main artery of the Marais Poitevin, the second largest marshland in France.
The strength of this water was used in the Middle Ages to free up the human workforce and put to agricultural use. The Moulin l’Abbé mill bears witness to this history.
Created in the 11th century by monks from the Saint-Maixent abbey, it was mentioned in 1654 as a bark mill. This means that it was used to grind oak and sweet chestnut bark for use in tanning hides. It then became a wheat mill around 1700.
During the French Revolution, there were no less than 120 wheat mills in a league’s radius around La Mothe-Saint-Héray. These mills produced a very high-quality flour called “minot”. This was transported on the backs of mules to Niort, then on boats to La Rochelle in order to feed the French fleet.
Around 1920, the Moulin l’Abbé was transformed into a flourmill with the installation of a complex mechanised system that stored all the elements. The grain, taken through the stages by a system of bucket chains and pallet conveyors, was separated, the chaff and impurities were removed and it was then ground and sieved until it produced flours of different millings. The mechanised system is listed as a historical monument (Monument Historique) and is still fully functional.
