Alessandria is a city and comune in Piedmont, Italy, and the capital of the Province of Alessandria. The city is sited on the alluvial plain between the Tanaro and the Bormida rivers, about 90 kilometres southeast of Turin. Alessandria is also a major railway hub.
Alessandria was founded in 1168 with a charter as a free commune; it was sited upon a preexisting urban nucleus, to serve as a stronghold for the Lombard League, defending the traditional liberties of the communes of northern Italy against the Imperial forces of Frederick Barbarossa. Alessandria stood in the territories of the marchese of Montferrat, a staunch ally of the Emperor, with a name assumed in 1168 to honor the Emperor's opponent, Pope Alexander III. In 1174–1175 the fortress was sorely tested by Imperial siege and stood fast. A legend (related in Umberto Eco's book Baudolino, and which recalls one concerning Bishop Herculanus’ successful defense of Perugia several centuries earlier) says it was saved by a quick-witted peasant, Gagliaudo: he fed his cow with the last grain remaining within the city, then took it outside the city walls until he reached the Imperial camp.

Alessandria railway station, opened in 1850, forms part of the Turin–Genoa railway. It is also a junction for six other lines, to Piacenza, Novara, Pavia, Cavallermaggiore, Ovada and San Giuseppe di Cairo, respectively.

Camping For FREE In Italy ????????
Italy has a good network of area sosta (camper service areas). These provide free or low-cost camper-van camping in almost all towns as well as rural spots. Some areas are service points only and do not permit overnight stay and then there are areas which permit (or tolerate) overnight parking where there might be no service whatsoever. In France, they are called 'aires de service' and there's an even bigger network than in Italy. Note that the standard Area Sosta is not suitable for tent campers.
Some of the Area Sosta is paid for and even privately run. Others are run by the local municipalities and are used as a gateway to encourage tourism to the area. If it's charged for it's usually very cheap and we have found these ranging in price from Free to 8 EUR per day. Usually, the following is provided:
- Off-street parking area
- Means of disposal of grey water and chemical toilets
- Water fill point
- Electrical hookup (not everywhere though and usually at a fee)

Tagliolo Monferatto is a small village situated in the Piedmont region of Alessandria province in Italy.
There were about 1499 population in this village as mentioned in 2004.
The land area of this village is about 25.9 sq.km. The nearest city to Tagliolo is Ovada. If you visit Tagliolo, you have to come via Ovada.
This attractive village is about 315m from the sea level. You can see the historical palaces and the buildings in the older version. They are still as it is.
The town of Ovada is on the border of the Stara valley at the foot of the Apennine mountain range. The old city of Italy is still in place. The population of the city is approximately 11484 and this 35sq.km. the town is located 186 feet above sea level.

Ovada e il Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG | TG del Turismo Syusy e Patrizio News
La terza tappa dell’itinerario enoturistico progettato da #SyusyBlady e #PatrizioRoversi nel Monferrato alessandrino è a #Ovada, terra del Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG. Un vino pregiato che ha ottenuto la DOC nel 1972 e la certificazione DOCG nel 2008. A dispetto del nome non è un vino dolce, ma, parlando nel gergo dei sommelier, è vinoso. Il suo gusto particolare dipende dal terroir, ovvero la combinazione di clima, ambiente e territorio: Ovada si trova in linea d’aria a 25 km dal mare , da cui spira il vento marin, e la sua terra è sia rossa argillosa che bianca calcarea. Il rosso dà corpo e colore al vino, il bianco mineralità e acidità.
Syusy poi è affascinata dalla storia dell'antico monastero cistercense di Santa Maria di Bano sul Monte Colma, a #TaglioloMonferrato, dove nel 2000 sono stati scoperti i resti di un convento cistercense femminile rimasti sepolti sotto la terra, i rami e le foglie per, pensate un po’... Seicento anni! Un convento dimenticato, ma protetto dal bosco! Gli scavi archeologici sono ancora in corso, ma le mura del convento, parte del chiostro e la sua vasca sono ben visibili.

[4KHDR] Driving in Italy: Autostrada dei Fiori A10 E80 from Genova to Savona
In this video you can drive along on the Autostrada dei Fiori A10 E80 from Genova to Savona. This famous Autostrada on the Ligurian coast is almost 160 kilometers long and connects the port city of Genova to the border with France in the West.
First opened in 1967, this Autostrada must have been one of the most challenging to construct in Italy and probably cost a pretty penny. Navigating through the mountainous coastal area of Liguria, this motorway is almost solely built on bridges and tunnels. It's all toll road and in an effort to keep cost at bay, the amount of exits was kept at a minimum.
Starting from the A7 North of Genova, we drive West on the A10. The first bridge we cross you might notice, it's the recently re-constructed Ponte Morandi which in part collapsed in 2018 leaving 43 people dead. Following a few tunnels, it takes quite a while before we are out of the Genova metropolitan area. Genova is Italy's biggest port and quite a large city. Because of its geography, it's really spread out across various valleys.
Savona is the next larger city when driving West. It's where the A10 meets the A6, connecting the Ligurian coast to Turin and the Alps. I will feature that Autostrada in a future video.
