My Visit to King Jaja's Opobo Land
King Jaja of Opobo was among the most prominent leaders and successful businessmen during the early colonial era. His activities in the palm oil business in West Africa marked him out as one of the smartest businessmen to have come out of the African continent. Opobo land is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Nigeria where you get sights and sounds of the Kingdom from where Jaja controlled both local international trades and the sea shore from where thousands of giant canoes moved palm oil from Opobo to other parts of the world, including Britain.

Travel Vlog Day 56 in Africa - Bad Route by GOOGLE MAPS from Port Harcourt to Enugu in Nigeria
Day 56 in Africa, we are in Nigeria, Port Harcourt, after resting for couple days and taking it slow and easy we decided that it's time to keep moving and get somehow further into next countries, so we had some information regarding a boat from Calabar to Equatorial Guinea, but before that we have to return to Calabar and apply for the VISA at Equatorial Guinea
It was hard to say goodbye to many great people we met during these days in Port Harcourt, starting from the Hard Ridarz Bikers, to the Skylyte Boutique hotel staff and other people we met during these days here!!
So many good memories and we would love to return one day!
Eddy! We can't stop thinking about You! You're in our hearts forever! We miss you, and have dropped many tears because of the happy memories there, and many days after and still even now recently... God bless, protect You and Your family
After leaving Skylyte Boutique we follow Doggy most of the way until he showed us where to stop at local workshop to help out our bike after the crash couple days ago and change from street tire back to our Motoz GPS Tractianator just in case we encounter some bad roads again!
Huge thanks to everyone who helped us super fast and operative with the repairs, changing tire, chain, pads and more! It is hard to find trustful mechanics during our trip most of the way, and we are very thankful for their work helping us to be ready!
The guys also gave us warning on bad roads ahead because of delayed construction work and bad weather during the rainy season, but we learned our lesson driving back here, so we will not choose that route again...
Quickly fill up petrol and heading fast to Calabar, as soon we left outskirts of Port Harcourt, Daniel got a call from a biker we met here and he gave us information that he contacted Equatorial Guinea embassy, and that they will not issue a VISA regarding to our safety with piracy and kidnapping situation in these months.... So were in sh.. again, change of plans, couple calls and were heading north to Abuja, but before we will stop in Enugu as some bikers are ready to meet us!
Google maps, please direct us to Enugu, not so bad, only about 250km and saying a 4h 30 min drive... Lets gooo!!
In already first 10 minutes, suddenly already to gravel road, getting smaller, and deeper into the unknown areas, where we encounter our toughest challenge yet!
So much deep waters and mud , it was scary! I though this was the end for us or the motorcycle, but by some kind of miracle Daniel handled the bike without a single fall and though our KTM 790 Adventure was deep in the water higher than the knees , we managed to get through of hours riding this terrible road recommended by Google! I thought honestly that was the end and we would not make though as many warned us before, don't pass there! And let's remember, the bike + gear and us is over 350kg!
It was heaven as soon we noticed some dry gravel road, and lets say satisfying when we got back on tar for last 100 km to Enugu which was fast but again scary because dark!
Before Enugu we encountered many small cities and town on the way, where we felt very, very sorry for locals as we hear the stories of the corrupt governments and we see how the powerful people live, and how the most 99% people live outside main cities in the worst poverty possible, and actions have to be taken by government ASAP! :(
The so call non existent roads are covered with huge pot holes. when it's raining water has nowhere to go, it sits there and just stinks together with all the rubbish as the Garbage collective services can't keep up and government doesn't seem to notice this problem..
Thanks for Mr. President of Bikers Club Enugu for waiting us and organizing us our lunch very late and a really beautiful and safe place to stay overnight!
