BILZEN, BÉLGICA: Una de las ciudades más bellas de Limburgo | Joyas de Flandes
Bilzen es una pequeña ciudad Belga de la provincia de Limburgo que se encuentra entre Hasselt y Maastricht. Los hallazgos arqueológicos de la época prehistórica y romana confirman un asentamiento temprano en esta región. La ciudad fue reconocida como tal a mediados del siglo XIII y fue también en esa época que se fundó un beaterio a lo largo del rio Demer. Además, la ciudad pasó a formar parte del Principado de Lieja en 1366. Finalmente, aunque haya sido objeto de reiteradas destrucciones a lo largo de su historia hoy en día posee un acogedor centro histórico. Es una ciudad muy conocida por su gran centro comercial, su festival de Jazz y el castillo Alden Biesen, que hemos recorrido en un video anterior cuyo enlace es el siguiente:

Belgian Grocery Store trip!
Going to the grocery store in Belgium isn't quite as easy as it is in the US.....
Aalst (B) I Winterfoor 2023
Wat een prachtige dag vandaag met een helderblauwe lucht. We trokken terug naar Aalst om de kermissfeer nog eens gaan op te snuiven. De kermisattracties waren nog bijna allemaal gesloten. Ze zullen waarschijnlijk openen als de scholen dicht zijn.
Nog enkele dagen en het is daar carnaval, op zondag 19 februari.
Speciale dagen tijdens de Winterfoor :
-vrijdag 10/02: opening van de Winterfoor vanaf 18 u tot max. 0 u 30
-donderdag 16/02: Dag van het Kind. Verminderd tarief tussen 13 u en 18 u. Prikkelarme kermis met gedimde lichten en verminderd geluidsvolume. Kermis open van 13 u tot max. 22 u.
-zondag 19/02: Carnaval in Aalst

Eng: What a beautiful day today with a clear blue sky. We headed back to Aalst to soak up the fairground atmosphere once more. Almost all the fairground attractions were still closed. They will probably open when the schools close.
A few more days and it's carnival there, on Sunday 19 February.
Special days during the Winter Fair :
-Friday 10/02: opening of the Winter Fair from 18:00 to max. 0:30 p.m.
-Thursday 16/02: Children's Day. Reduced rate between 1pm and 6pm. Low-incentive fairground with dimmed lights and reduced sound volume. Fair open from 1 pm to 10 pm max.
-Sunday 19/02: Carnival in Aalst

Wedstrijd te paard.
Met ons kleine reisgezelschap kwamen we in Marokko terecht in een wedstrijd. Hier streden verschillende dorpen te paard tegen elkaar. De kunst is het om gelijktijdig te rijden en te schieten en vooral geen achterblijvers.

Het Hallerbos is misschien wel één van de bekendste bossen van België. Jaarlijks is dit bos in de lente bedekt met wilde hyacinten.
Het stond al jaren op mijn planning om naar dit prachtige bos te gaan om te fotograferen. April 2022 was het dan zo ver: ik ging met vrienden fotograferen in het Hallerbos.

The Hallerbos is perhaps one of the most famous forests in Belgium. Every year in the spring this forest is covered with wild hyacinths.
It had been on my schedule for years to go to this beautiful forest to photograph. April 2022 was the day: I went to photograph with friends in the Hallerbos.

Le Bois de Halle est peut-être l'une des forêts les plus célèbres de Belgique. Chaque année au printemps cette forêt est couverte de jacinthes sauvages.
Cela faisait des années que j'avais prévu d'aller dans cette belle forêt pour la photographier. Avril 2022 était le jour : je suis allé photographier avec des amis dans les Bois de Halle.

Der Hallerbos ist vielleicht einer der berühmtesten Wälder Belgiens. Jedes Jahr im Frühjahr ist dieser Wald mit wilden Hyazinthen bedeckt.
Es war seit Jahren auf meinem Plan, in diesen wunderschönen Wald zu gehen, um zu fotografieren. April 2022 war es soweit: Ich war mit Freunden im Hallerbos zum Fotografieren.

Geocaching In Brugge - Day Four 15/04/2013
This is the final day of our four day geocaching trip to Brugge, in Belgium. We did some mopping up in Brugge and then on our journey home, we stopped off in Brussels for a quick cache! A great time was had by all!
