???????? Korea: #DUMUJIN (#두무진) #Baekryongdo- Ongjin INCHEON- Must watch!! [Tour Part 2]

Dumujin Coast on Baengnyeongdo Island, Ongjin
Dumunjin (두무진), which means ‘shaped like the head of a general,’ is made up of coastal cliffs that have been carved into windbreaks by tidal erosion, as well as an array of uniquely shaped rocks that have been weather beaten over many millions of years.

Dumunjin Coast is so beautiful that some Koreans call it the “Haegeumgang of the West Sea.”

Incheon to Daecheongdo - 대청도여행

#Daecheongdo #incheon #island #korea #travelvlog #traveling #vacation #beautiful #beach #대청도 #인천 #대청면 #소청도 #여행 #한국

* Daecheongdo - 대청도
------------------------------------
Daecheong Island or Daecheongdo (Korean: 대청도 big blue island) is a 12.63 km2 (4.88 sq mi), 7 km (4.3 mi) long and 6.3 km (3.9 mi) wide island in Ongjin County, Incheon, South Korea, near the Northern Limit Line. The 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement which ended the Korean War specified that the five islands including Daecheong Island would remain under U.N. and South Korea control. This agreement was signed by both DPRK and United Nations Command. Since then, it serves as a maritime demarcation between North and South Korea in the Yellow Sea (also called West Sea).
The island is 19 km (12 mi) from the coast of South Hwanghae Province in North Korea.
Daecheongdo Island is thought to be first inhabited during the Neolithic Age (9500–4500 BC), but there are definite signs of culture from the Goryeo Dynasty (918–1392), during which time the island was used as a place of exile for criminals. The Chinese Emperor Toghon Temür (1320–1370) was exiled there by the Mongol Yuan Dynasty for conspiring in a plot arranged by his stepmother. Legend says he arrived at the island with a court and 100 relatives, then built a palace. The island was generally uninhabited until 1793, when King Jeongjo, of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), imported farmers to cultivate the land. During the Japanese occupation of Korea between 1910 and 1945, there were as many as 10,000 people living thanks to its large port. Today, the island only has approximately 1,500 people who sustain a living from tourism and fishing.

Best gorgeous island in South Korea(selected by CNN) - Mok Island | 선재도 목섬

Have you heard about Mok Island in South Korea? This is a weekend destination for people living in the metropolitan area.

Located on the west coast. It takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes by car from Seoul. You can also go by public transportation.

Mok Island is the best gorgeous island in South Korea selected by CNN. I think the reason is due to the beautiful natural phenomena that can be seen around this island.

You can walk to this island only at low tide. When the tide comes, the island is locked in the sea. It must be a fun and mysterious place.

You can also experience the tidal flats here. Korea's west coast is one of the 5 largest tidal flats in the world. If you go to Mok Island, I recommend you to try this fun experience.

4K Korea Drive | West Sea Islands road trip, Oido to Yeongheungdo 서해 드라이브 여행(오이도-시화방조제-영흥도)

4K road trip with GPS overlay and Landmark tags!

In this video, we drive around the islands of the west coast of Korea, including Sihwa Seawall.
(Oi Island-Sihwa Seawall-Daebu Island-Seonjae Island-Yeongheung Island)

| Oi Island |
In this video, we visit four islands located on the west coast of Korea. First, we start our drive on the Oi Island(Korean: 오이도; Oido). Interestingly, Oi Island is not an 'island'. Oi Island was a small island about 4 km from the mainland. However, in the 1920s, the tidal flats around Oi Island were reclaimed to create salt fields. And in the 1980s, an industrial complex was built in this salt fields area, making it became completely inland. Therefore, It can be said Oi Island remains only as a name of a place. Today, a marine park has been established on Oi Island and serves as a tourist spot for visitors.

| Sihwa Seawall |
Next, we go to the second island, Daebu Island along the Sihwa Seawall. Sihwa seawall was completed in 1994 and is 11.2 km long. As the result of the construction of the Sihwa Seawall, an artificial lake, Sihwa Lake, was created. Originally, Sihwa Lake was planned as a freshwater lake to supply water for surrounding farmland or industrial complexes. However, the water quality of Sihwa Lake rapidly deteriorated due to the inflow of pollutants. Finally, in 2000, the Korean government gave up on the desalination of Sihwa Lake and declared that it would be made into a seawater lake. And today, the world's largest tidal power plant is in the middle of the seawall.

| Daebu, Seonjae, Yeongheung Island |
After passing the Sihwa Seawall, we arrive at Daebudo Island. Daebu Island and the surrounding islands are famous tourist destinations. Especially Daebu Island, Seonjae Island, and Yeongheung Island are all connected by bridges, so you can visit them all at once just like in this video. We finish our drive at Janggyeongni Beach at the north-western end of Yeongheung Island.

Please enjoy the scenery of Korea's countryside, islands, and sea in this video!
