Oneida Nation History | Know Your Wisconsin
The Oneida Nation reservation is located in parts of Brown and Outagamie Counties. While people may enter the reservation without even realizing it, from the air, it’s hard to miss; with turtle shaped round-a-bouts and a turtle shaped school – in honor of one of the Nation’s clans.
But to truly understand the Oneida people, one needs to know their history. The tribe originated in upstate New York; but European settlers eventually pushed them out of the area, effectively splitting the Nation into three factions: one in New York, one in Canada, and one in Wisconsin.
Wisconsinites can learn more about the rich Oneida history, traditions, artifacts, language and customs when they visit the Oneida Museum in De Pere, which opened its doors in 1979 and houses over 8,000 artifacts within their permanent collection.

The worlds smallest chapel is in Oneida, NY in a little pond
This has been on the list of places to see for a little while and we’re glad you could join! Who knew the worlds smallest church would be located just outside of Oneida, New York? This little gem sits all alone right in the middle of a pond. This church, which sits three is only accessible by rowboat. You don't have to walk anywhere to see it and the shoulder of the road is an okay place to park, but there is a parking lot of sorts at the closest intersection.
The chapel was built in 1989 and is available for tours apparently but I thought it would just be cool to see from the side of the road. Would this be a good place for a wedding do you think? I'm under the impression that leaving someone at the altar would be something a little more serious here, as if you take the rowboat, they had better know how to swim.
