Explore with me Füssen as I walk through the streets of this beautiful town. Füssen is a Bavarian town in Germany, just north of the Austrian border. You can stop by this town before or after you visit Neuschwanstein castle.
✅ How do you get to Füssen?
If you are coming from Munich, take a train from Munich Central Station to Füssen. There is a direct train every 2 hours. There is also an additional connecting service that operates every two hours as well, requiring a change of trains in Kaufbeuren. Both the direct train and the other train with a connection in Kaufbeuren take approximately 2 hours to reach Füssen.
Füssen train station is about a 10-minute walk from the city center.

Border Crossing Germany to Austria | Driving Through Fussen Tunnel
This is the border tunnel from Germany to Austria the tunnel is named Fussen. Grenztunnel Füssen connects the town of Fussen with the Austrian town Pinswang.
Its a famous crossing to get into the Tyrol region of Austria and onwards to Innsbruck.
The road also continues to the Fern Pass in Austria.

Füssen is a town in Bavaria, Germany, in the district of Ostallgäu, situated one kilometre from the Austrian border. The town is known for violin manufacturing and as the closest transportation hub for the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. As of 2018 the town has a population of 15,508.
Füssen was settled in Roman times, on the Via Claudia Augusta, a road that leads southwards to northern Italy and northwards to Augusta Vindelicum (today's Augsburg), the former regional capital of the Roman province Raetia. The original name of Füssen was Foetes, or Foetibus (inflected), which derives from Latin Fauces, meaning gorge, probably referring to the Lech gorge. In Late Antiquity Füssen was the home of a part of the Legio III Italica, which was stationed there to guard the important trade route over the Alps...... (wikipedia)

Hello, today's tour is from Füssen, one of the most beautiful towns in Germany. A Bavarian town with almost one kilometer from the Austrian borders and 2 hours from Munich by train. A colorful and calm town on the Lech river. It is very close to many Germany's well known attractions. Just few Kilometers to the two of the most famous castles in Germany. Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles are just 4 km from the town.
In this tour, we will discover the beauty of the town and walk through its streets and walk by the Lech river side and enjoying the great view of the surrounding mountains. We also will walk to the Lechfall, which is a beautiful waterfall near the town, in addition to many other sites in Fussen.

GERMANY: Füssen town & castle, Allgäu/Bavaria 4K
Füssen is a town in Bavaria, Germany, in the district of Ostallgäu (East Allgäu), situated one kilometre from the Austrian border. The town is known for violin manufacturing. The castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are located nearby. Füssen is located on the banks of the Lech River, which flows into the Forggensee.
The High Castle (German: Hohes Schloss), 13th-16th century, is the former summer residence of the prince-bishops of Augsburg. It houses a branch gallery of the Bavarian State Collections of Paintings, which focuses on late Gothic and Renaissance works of art.
St. Mang's Abbey (German: Kloster Sankt Mang Füssen) was a Benedictine monastery, below the Hohes Schloss, founded in the 9th century and dissolved during the post-Napoleonic secularisation of Bavaria.
The Museum of Füssen is located in the southwest wing of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang, which was built in the early 18th century under the architect Johann Jakob Herkomer after Venetian model. The museum displays the history of the abbey and the town, particularly of the traditional manufacture of lutes and violins in Füssen. It is also possible to view the Baroque reception rooms of the abbey in the museum.

Walking in KAUFBEUREN / Germany ????????- Old Town in Allgäu - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Kaufbeuren is a town in Bavaria. Surrounded by the district of Ostallgäu the old town has the typical Bavarian flair with winding alleys.
We start our tour (October 2020) in the old town near the salt market and circle the St. Martins Church. We walk a bit towards the eastern edge of the old town with larger streets with more traffic. There we get to the Art Hall (Kunsthalle) with the Sywollenturm. We walk a bit further north along the old city walls, which was built in around 1200. We slip right through a small door in that wall back into the old town.
We check out more streets around the fruit market (Obstmarkt) and are back at the Kaiser-Max-Straße which leads us to the town hall. The Fünfknopfturm - a major attraction of Kaufbeuren on a hill - was closed so we have to skip the climb for another visit. The main parts of the old town however were now all visited so as an extra we once again head out of the city center. This time walk south .. to get back to the city hall once more from a different direction.
At last we leave the old town behind. On our way back to the train station we basically head for the city park. We reach that nice little park after a few minutes, where we end our Kaufbeuren tour.

Travel Germany - Füssen, Neuschwanstein Castle & More
Füssen is most famous for two historic castles, (and a third, even older castle, can be found tucked-away in the old town).
Neuschwanstein Castle was built by the reclusive King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who died in 1886 before the monument was completely finished. It immediately became a popular tourist attraction.
Nearby an older palace, Hohenschwangau Castle, provides a more realistic glimpse of royal life. The old High Palace in Füssen retains it's medieval character, and houses part of the Bavarian State Collection of Paintings.
The city itself is charming, and is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

GERMANY: Alpspitz mountain & cable car, Nesselwang -Allgäu 4K
The Alpspitz-Kombibahn is located in Nesselwang, district of Ostallgäu (East Algäu) in Bavaria, Germany. The only two combined lifts in Germany (cable car and chairlift) take you up the mountain up to 1500 m. If you want you can walk to the Alpspitz Gipfelkreuz (cross, 1575m).
AlpspitzKICK. The zipline consists of two sections. The start is at the mountain station at around 1,500 meters. Followed by 1.2 kilometers down into the valley. Speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour are reached.
AlpspitzCOASTER. After the ascent from the valley with the 680 m long integrated mountain lift, you whiz down 1110 m on the rail-guided toboggan run over waves, jumps, roundabouts, bridges and tunnels back into the valley.
