RWANDA : 10 Endroits qu'Il Faut y visiter à Tout Prix

KINGS PALACE - Nyanza, Rwanda!

Hey everyone, I am taking you on a trip to the Kings Palace in Nyanza, Rwanda in this vlog. The trip is about 2 1/2 hours away from Kigali, and you can also visit the Ethnographic museum (35 minute drive from Kings Palace). I highly recommend that you do both while you are in the area. Both museums are full of history regarding the monarchy, kings, queen, traditional homes, clothing, battle gear, etc. You will learn a great deal about Rwandan history on this trip alone. I thoroughly enjoyed both museums and will probably go back when family visits :)

The kIng's palace is filled with fascinating stories about Rwanda's recent past before it was a republic.

The Umurinzi tree was named so because, as the legend goes, there was a great hunter who once went hunting and was attacked by a buffalo and as he was tossed in the air, the umurinzi tree received him and he died there. The people started a religion around it as the tree was a protector. The word umurinzi actually translates to the protector
