Our visit Chiang Mai travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums, fascinating temples and the city by day and evening when Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) comes alive at night. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Chiang Mai tourism brochure, Chiang Mai city tour or Chiang Mai itinerary.

20 Things to do in Chiang Mai, Thailand Travel Guide Video Transcript:

Today we’re taking you around a city that we’ve been to many times before: Chiang Mai. Located in the heart of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a growing city with laid back vibes, temples sprinkled around every corner, and a foodie scene that will make you drool. This is a destination where you come to unwind and that’s exactly what we did during our month long visit. Now let’s get started with this tour of Chiang Mai (清邁) so you can see what this city is all about:

One of the best things you can do in Chiang Mai is ditch the map and get lost inside the old city. It’s along the quiet back lanes that you’ll find cozy cafes, terracotta gardens, unvisited temples, and a little flavour of the old Chiang Mai.

As you’ve probably figured out, we’re not really into nightlife, but Chiang Mai does have lots of bars where you can enjoy a drink or two. We kept things light with a Chang beer.

And that’s a wrap for our visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand. We hope this video gave you a little taste of what this city is all about. We’ll be the first to tell you that we barely scratched the surface in terms of everything Chiang Mai (清迈) has to offer, but that being said, the goal of our time here was to relax, eat well, see friends, and catch up on work. As always, if you have any other suggestions of things to do, places to visit, and restaurants to eat at, feel free to share those with fellow travellers in the comments below. Until next time!

This is part of our Travel in Thailand video series showcasing Thai food, Thai culture and Thai cuisine.

Phuket Thailand to Phang Nga: James Bond Island, Airplane Beach, Pan Yee Floating Village, Thai Food

Watch Our Bangkok Food Video with Adria and Ester here:

Our friends, Adria and Ester, came from Spain to visit us in Bangkok over the holidays! It was their first time in Thailand so we tried to plan a really fun two weeks to show them as much of Thailand as possible! We took them to some of our favorite places such as Railay and the Phi Phi Islands to see Maya Bay, however we also decided we wanted to take them to Phuket Old Town and Phang Nga! We rented a car in Phuket Old Town and drove from there toward the famous viewpoint in Phang Nga: Samet Nangshe. As our only plan was to go to Samet Nangshe, we made up the rest as we went.
At the beginning of our trip, Ester really wanted to stop by Phuket's upside down house as she had never seen one before. Unfortunately we arrived an hour before it opened! Since we had extra time, we decided to try to go to Phuket's Airplane Beach! We had seen pictures of it, but we had never been before. The plane spotting beach in Phuket is actually called Mai Khao Beach and it was really easy to get to! We arrived at Mai Khao Beach and followed the signs to the parking lot. Once you park it's actually 2km to get to the part of the beach that the airplanes go over to land at Phuket International Airport! Luckily there are many tuktuks right next to the parking lot that can take you the 2km for 20 baht ($0.60 USD) per person. We were surprised at how frequent the planes were landing! Some of them were as little as 5 minutes apart!! We were able to take lots of pictures with planes landing. There were also lots of street food stalls close by.
After the airplane beach we started driving toward Phang Nga and the Samet Nangshe viewpoint. We were still pretty early and we started to see lots of signs for James Bond Island, so we decided to make another pitstop and try to see the islands! We followed our GPS to a location called 'Pracharat Pier, Ban Koh Klang' which had signs for James Bond Island tours. Luckily when we arrived we were able to go on a tour right away! We paid 2,000 baht total ($61 USD) for a private long tail boat. The boat tour was so neat! It started going through the mangrove trees before opening up with views of all the amazing limestone cliffs of Phang Nga! It was unlike anything else we'd seen before!!! The tour first stopped by James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan) where we had to pay the national park fee (an additional 300 baht per foreign adult ($9 USD)). There were lots of people, but it was still so amazing to see! Next we had the option to kayak through the mangrove trees and limestone cliffs for an additional 300 baht each, but we were cold and didn't have too much time so we skipped the kayaking. After that we went to Koh Panyee Village or the Pan Yee Floating Island Village! It was another amazing place that we had wanted to visit but never had the chance to before! We were able to eat lots of amazing Thai food for lunch at a restaurant in the floating village! After that we walked around the village to find the famous floating football field!
Finally we returned to our rental car to drive the last 15 minutes to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint where we were planning on camping! This was one of our favorite trips and it's definitely a must do if you're in Phuket, Thailand! We should have part 2 of our Phuket Road Trip up soon!

First time in ISAAN Thailand(Buriram): Phanom Rung Historical Park, Isan Thai Food, Prasat Muang Tam

Book transportation to Buriram here:

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we head to ISAAN for the first time!! We decided to take a weekend trip from Bangkok to visit Buriram, Thailand! There was so much we wanted to do on this trip and we managed to get most of it done on our weekend away!
We arrived on a bus from Bangkok late Friday night so we went directly to sleep. When we woke up on Saturday we first wanted to rent a motorbike to drive around! Unfortunately most places didn't have any bikes available! We ended up talking to the motorbike taxi drivers by the Buriram bus station. They were SO nice and ended up calling a friend who delivered a bike to us that we could rent! ????????????
We drove an hour south of the Buriram city center to visit Phanom Rung Historical Park! It ended up being the most amazing temple visit! Phanom Rung is a Khmer monument that is similar in design to Angkor Wat in Cambodia! We had so much fun walking around the temple and exploring the grounds. The temple is actually built on top of an extinct volcano so there are nice views of the surrounding area.
When we purchased our tickets to Phanom Rung, we actually got joint tickets for both Phanom Rung Historical Park as well as Prasat Muang Tam! Prasat Muang Tam is another ancient Khmer temple only 10 minutes from Phanom Rung!
On the drive between them we stopped at a roadside Thai restaurant that we were driving past. It didn't look too special from the front, but the back was SO cute!! We wanted to try some Isan Thai food while we were in the area. We ended up ordering Isan som tum (papaya salad), as well as beef larb and some fried rice. The food was interesting.
Unfortunately the weekend we traveled ended up being the coldest weekend in the whole year we lived in Thailand! Which was made even colder because we were in Buriram!!! But we still had an amazing day!

Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss the next video in Buriram where we visit the Khao Kradong Forest Park (another Buriram volcano), the Buriram castle, the Chang International Circuit motoGP track, and finish the night watching the Buriram United game at the Chang Arena!

KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK Thailand Travel Vlog- 2 hours from BANGKOK, camping, waterfalls, night safari

In this video we head to Khao Yai National Park for the weekend! We actually took a minibus to Pak Chong where we then rented a motorbike and drove to the national park!
Khao Yai National Park is the third largest national park in Thailand, but it's the most popular because it's so close to Bangkok! You can even do a day trip from the city!
We stopped by different viewpoints, went camping in the Lam Ta Khong Campground (full of DEER!), went to the Haew Su Wat Waterfall (famous for being in the Leonardo DiCaprio movie The Beach), the Haew Narok Waterfall, and went on a NIGHT SAFARI!!! The night safari was SO cool! We saw wild deer, civet cats, foxes, and a huge porcupine! After sleeping in our tent, we did a little jungle trek at the visitors center and stopped by the observation towers which has the most amazing views!!!
We had SO much fun here!

Koh Samet: Best Tropical Island Close to Bangkok Thailand

Book a bus + ferry to Koh Samet here:

In this Thailand Travel Vlog, we head to Koh Samet - the closest paradise island to Bangkok! You can get there in just a few short hours by taking a minibus to Rayong, Thailand plus a 15 minute speed boat! We had a 3 day weekend and decided the day of to change our plans and head to this gorgeous beach for the first time!
As it was so last minute we really didn't prepare much! When you arrive on the Koh Samet pier, you need to pay the national park fee (cash only) to enter the island, motorbike rentals are 400 baht/day all over the island (luckily it includes gas) which is the most we've paid for a bike in Thailand, and the island only has 3 ATMs ALL OF WHICH WERE BROKEN THE ENTIRE WEEKEND!!! ???? Definitely make sure you take cash incase the same thing happens again! We were lucky we could use my Thai bank account still to pay for most things, however if we didn't have a Thai bank account we would've been in trouble!
Koh Samet (Koh Samed) is a small island. It's also very long. Right by the pier you can walk to many different restaurants, a 7 eleven, and a great beach! There are many other beaches you can get to either on a motorbike or by using one of the many songthaews. There was a cute little boardwalk area at the very bottom of the island.
Koh Samet is also cool at night! The entire beach transforms and is covered by beach chairs and bright lights. There are even fire shows on Koh Samet! We definitely recommend heading to this island is you're in Bangkok and you don't have much time to travel very far!

Pattaya Thailand Travel Vlog - Sanctuary of Truth, Thai Food, Nong Nooch Gardens, Walking Street

Book transportation to Pattaya here:

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we head to Pattaya - one of the most famous cities in Thailand that is only a couple hours from Bangkok! We started by trying to walk to the Sanctuary of Truth (which you cannot do from Pattaya Beach). We ended up taking a songthaew there and had the most amazing time! The sanctuary was a lot cooler than we expected! After the Sanctuary of Truth we ended up going to Terminal 21! We've been to the Terminal 21 mall in Bangkok many times, but we didn't know there was one in Bangkok until we drove by it on the way to the Sanctuary of Truth! We ended up eating lunch at the Terminal 21 food court (which is AMAZING) - complete with suki, noodles and chicken, and some Thai desserts! Carles had to stop for some shopping on the way home.....but we then headed out to the famous Pattaya Walking Street to try to watch the Barcelona football game! It was definitely an interesting experience.....and MUCH busier than when we visited Pattaya before!
The following day we visited the Nong Nooch Gardens - another famous tourist attraction in Pattaya! After the gardens we drove 10 minutes away to see the Pattaya Buddha carved into the side of a mountain. It was also a really cool place to visit! Overall we had SO much fun in Pattaya!!!

Wat Nong Wang, Phra Nahathat Kaen Nakhon Temple, in Khon Kaen, เทศบาลนครขอนแก่น , Thailand ...

Thanks, for dropping by the Coffee Chill TV Channel.

Amazing architecture, statues and art, augmented with a deep spiritual atmosphere, here. As always, when one visits an active place of worship, it should be done so, with a sense of respect. And, I left Wat Nong Wang in a highly reflective mood myself. I am extremely glad, that I was able to walk around this beautiful temple.
