Namibia has been in my dreams for the past 4 years, and it was my first experience in southern Africa, an experience that has forever changed the way I perceive that part of the world. There's something incredibly powerful in Africa that I can't quite put in words.
We drove close to 3000km in just under 2 weeks, exploring a country that could easily be 4 or 5 countries in one. From the deserts to the mountains, the bush, canyons, and everything in between, Namibia is truly something else.
I tried to capture as much as I could, but also felt the urge to disconnect, put down the camera, and enjoy a feeling of quiet solitude with an intensity I've never quite felt before.
This is a short cinematic travel movie of my time in Namibia.

25 November 2020 is the day set for the holding of the regional council and local authority elections in Namibia.
Local and regional elections were held in Namibia on 25 November 2020 to elect new local and regional councils. The previous round of elections was held in 2015 and won by the ruling SWAPO party.
Thousands of Namibians cast their votes today to elect their local authority and regional leaders for the next 5 years.
Although Namibia has 1.35 million registered voters, only about 370,000 have voter cards that specify their area of residence, a requirement to elect local and regional councillors. A supplementary voter registration, also for citizens that have turned 18 and those who have relocated, was conducted between 7 and 15 September 2020, and yielded 188,000 registrations.
In April 2020, the Electoral Commission of Namibia announced that the national lockdown would not affect the election date. The elections will be conducted using paper ballots after the Supreme Court of Namibia ruled in 2020 that without a paper trail, usage of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in elections is unconstitutional.
While the ruling SWAPO party nominated candidates in all constituencies and for all local councils, four constituencies have no opposition candidates at all: Mankumpi, Nkurenkuru, Tondoro and Uuvudhiya. There the SWAPO candidate will be declared the winner.
The polling stations closed at 21:00, but all voters who were in the line at the close of polling stations will still be able to cast their votes. Only those who arrived after the close of polling stations will not be allowed to vote.
