Hamilton, New Zealand

Hamilton (Māori: Kirikiriroa) is the seat and most populous city of the Waikato Region, in the North Island of New Zealand.

The city encompasses a land area of about 110 km2 (42 sq mi) on the banks of the Waikato River, and is home to 153,100 people, making it New Zealand's fourth most-populous city. Hamilton City is part of the wider Hamilton Urban Area, which also encompasses the nearby towns of Ngaruawahia, Te Awamutu and Cambridge.

Initially an agricultural service centre, Hamilton now has a growing and diverse economy and is the third fastest growing urban area in New Zealand (behind Pukekohe and Auckland). Education and research and development play an important part in Hamilton's economy, as the city is home to approximately 40,000 tertiary students and 1,000 PhD-qualified scientists.

Les Batkin Reserve & Tuakau Bridge, Tuakau, Waikato, New Zealand

Well, I was just passing by, I found Tuakau Bridge interesting so I thought to stop by and capture some drone shots of this bridge, alongwith Waikato river and lush green Waikato plains.

Les Batkin Reserve is a good picnic spot from where you can launch your boat, do fishing or some other water activity. For more info, visit:

The market consistently draws crowds of up to 20,000 people throughout the day, showcasing the vibrant multicultural scene of the Pacific and Asian continents.

ROTORUA: KIWI HATCHERY, KUIRAU PARK & ROTORUA MUSEUM /// NEW ZEALAND TRAVEL VLOG

Rotorua is one of the must-visit places in New Zealand. It's famous for geothermal valleys, extreme activities, Māori culture, beautiful scenery, parks, history, food and lots of other things. Rotorua is often called 'Rotovegas' and there is a reason for that. Watch our travel vlog to discover the attractions of this amazing part of New Zealand and start planning your visit!

Rotorua is located 3 hours drive from Auckland, 5.5 hours from Wellington and just a short one hour drive from Tauranga. We've been to Rotorua on several occasions and have quite a handful of videos about this region, make sure to click on the link in video or below. There is so much to see!

Every time we come to Rotorua, we try to see something we haven't seen before. So during this visit, we decided to see Rotorua Museum and Government Gardens, Kuirau Park and the National Kiwi Hatchery Aotearoa located in Rainbow Springs Park. And it was enough to make us occupied for the whole day and not to get super tired afterwards.

Rotorua Museum is a gorgeous historic building located in the very heart of the city. Unfortunately, it's closed to the public at the moment due to reconstruction and strengthening. But you can enjoy its architecture from outside while visiting the Government Gardens. It is a beautiful place to have a walk, to read a book on a bench or to do a picnic. There are also free guided tours available at 11am and 1pm if you would like to learn more about the history of this place.

Kuirau Park is a local geothermal park. It is very beautiful and there is a nice walkway. It will take you through the park, so you can see steaming ponds and mud pools, and take lots of pictures. If you're in Rotorua on Saturday morning, make sure to check Kuirau Park Farmers Market - there are lots of amazing local producers and food trucks for you to discover. Another cool activity to do in Kuirau Park is to have a dip in Foot Bath. There are two located near the main carpark.

Rotorua is also home for one of the most amazing parks - Rainbow Springs. A very special facility is located there - the National Kiwi Hatchery Aotearoa. This is the place where you can see small kiwi birds - just a couple of days old. There is also a nocturnal house where you can see a grown-up kiwi bird and learn more about these amazing birds. Guided tours are available (please check working days and hours on their website, they are not open every day).

Hakarimata Summit Walk - Can we make it?

In this video we struggle up the thousands of steps towards the summit of the Hakarimata Ranges.

It's not an easy feat, and can be very disheartening when a jogger breezes passed you, not once, but five times as they run up and down it for training.

The Walk starts in Brownlee Ave, Ngaruawahia, just 20 minutes drive north of Hamilton, New Zealand.

If you manage to make it to the top, the views are stunning on a nice day.
