Adventure of Sugar, top tourist attraction in Mauritius
We visited the famous tourist attraction the Adventure of Sugar or L'Aventure du Sucre, as it is officially called. As one of the top must-do tourist attractions in Mauritius, we were expecting big things and boy did it deliver. Starting from the outside with a train and huge sugar mill equipment I was like a kid in a candy store. The adventure comes to life in the museum, it is very well done, taking you from the beginning of Mauritius all the way through the history and actually letting you walk through the internal workings of a mill until you finally leave, with sugar and rum tasting.

LA PIROGUE MAURITIUS 2022 - A Sun Resort • Mauritius • Flic en Flac • Garden Bungalow [4K]
In search for that perfect, affordable tropical summer destination lead us to the beautiful island of Mauritius.
We stayed for 7 nights at La Pirogue, A Sun Resort along the breathtaking sunset coast of Flic en Flac. There was a wide aray of land- and water-based activities that we enjoyed during our stay. We tried the kayak, SUP and pedal boat. We also played badminton, mini-golf, ping-pong and chess.
We ended our weeklong stay with a relaxing couples massage at their sister resort Sugar Beach. It was a vacation to remember.

Mauritius, one of the Indian Ocean island nations, is famous for beaches, lagoons, and reefs. The mountainous interior of Mauritius includes Black River Gorges National Park that has waterfalls, rainforests, hike trails, and animals like that of the flying fox. Capital Port Louis has sites like The Champs de Mars horse track, Eureka plantation house, and the 18th-century Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens.
The island has more Mauritius than beaches or fancy hotels. Mark Twain touched on that rough interior, and John Gimlette, writing for Telegraph Travel in 2015, wrote: Although only the size of Surrey It has the potential of the Alps. Massive ridges of granite hung above, at times higher than 2,600 feet. Within these mountain peaks, deep gorges have been created, as well as an amazing landscape of waterfalls, woodlands, and pine forests. One river is the tallest of the Statue of Liberty, and the other - at Grand Bassin - we came to a mountain lake, where the eels had grown to 6 feet long. The reason for all this beauty was evident in an explosion cataclysmic in nature. Nearly eight million years ago the bottom of the Indian Ocean ruptured, pouring basalt up into the sky. After the calm, an amazing new world was created, populated by bizarre plants and fantastical creatures.

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, is a popular botanical garden located in Mauritius. It is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the Southern Hemisphere and covers an area of around 37 hectares (91 acres). The garden is named after Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, who was the first Prime Minister of Mauritius.
The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden is known for its diverse collection of plant species, including indigenous and exotic plants. One of its main attractions is the giant water lilies, known as Victoria amazonica, which have enormous leaves that can grow up to 2.5 meters (8 feet) in diameter.
Visitors to the garden can explore various sections, including the palmier section, spice garden, talipot palm grove, and a collection of medicinal plants. The garden also features an old French mansion known as Château Mon Plaisir, which houses a museum showcasing historical artifacts.
Apart from its rich botanical collection, the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden also serves as a green oasis where visitors can relax and enjoy the peaceful ambiance. It is a popular tourist attraction in Mauritius and offers a glimpse into the country's natural heritage and biodiversity.

One short stop at a national monument, the tower windmill and ending in Grand Baie (Grand Bay). Blue water, white sand, palm trees, and great street food. This trip takes in some of the best and most scenic beaches in the extreme north of Mauritius. Some of the greatest photo opportunities of islands beaches and seas, and the worlds most photographed church, the red roofed church. We also eat samosa (samoosa), chilli bites (gateaux piment) and a great roti.

Welcome to a very beautiful and relaxing place, the Mandir de Médines on the west coast of the island of Mauritius. This is a really big temple and even has live peacocks and an amphitheatre. There are beautifully decorated buildings and incredible works of art. Entry to the temple is free and really worth a visit. You can reach the temple by road from the village of Flic en Flac, or from the village of Bambous around the avenue of Flamboyan. There is plenty of parking.
Other popular places on the island of Mauritius: Port Louis, Tamarin, Le Morne, Chamarel, Casela Nature Parks, Black River Gorges National Park, Tamarind Falls, Grand Bassin Temple , Mauritius Postal Museum - blue and red mauritius stamp , China Town, La Vanille Nature Park and many waterfalls.

Měli jsme k dispozici krásný a dobře vybavený byt 2+1 v přízemí. Stačí udělat 5 kroku a jste u bazénu. S dítětem to opravdu nemá chybu.

Z Prahy přímé lety na Mauricius nelétají. My jsme zvolili Air France s jedním přestupem v Paříži.
Cesta trvá cca15 hodin a více.
Ceny letenek se pohybuji cca od 14 000 Kč.
Cesta z letiště do městečka Mont Choisy trvá cca 60 minut.
Měli jsme předem domluvené taxi, které vyšlo cca na 1000 Kč.
Doporučujeme pronajmout si na pobyt auto! Nezapomeňte, že na Mauriciu se jezdí vlevo! Dá se na to zvyknout velmi jednoduše. Jen jsem místo blinkrů pořád stírala přední sklo :-D.

Welcome to Paradise Cove in Mauritius. We chose this hotel for our mini-moon, and it was a little slice of paradise. A adults-only boutique hotel with colonial style decor, it's a hideaway designed for couples. We had the all-inclusive and honeymoon package, and were able to enjoy experiences such as rum tasting and a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach. The vibe is relaxed and perfect for those wanting to get away from the everyday hustle.
