I proudly present you the Top 10 most beautiful waterfalls of Switzerland: As a landlocked country, there may be no dreamy beaches in Switzerland, but with Alps, this country hosts some of the most beautiful landscapes. Switzerland is often considered the reservoir of Europe, as there are many glaciers from which the rivers originate. Each of them gets fed with water from the many creeks present in the Swiss Alps. The water sometimes has to quite find its way to reach the next larger river, it needs to pass gorges, forests or drops from the rocks down into the valleys. Where can you find the many waterfalls of Switzerland? There are countless of them, plenty in the wonderful Bernese Oberland (Berner Oberland), around lake Brienz, in the many valleys, such as in the Simmental and of course in the Lauterbrunnen valley. In only that valley, there are 72 waterfalls! Among these 72 waterfalls you may find the Staubbach Falls of Lauterbrunnen, which are considered an Instagram wonder of Switzerland. They are one of the most photographed subjects. But there are 71 more waterfalls in the Lauterbrunnen valley to explore: Mürrenbachfalls, Mattenbachfalls, Trümmelbachfalls and many more! Fascinating! Other wonderful waterfalls are scattered all around Switzerland, central Switzerland, canton Uri, Ticino and northern Switzerland, where the world famous Rheinfall (Rhinefalls) are located. Is Rhine Falls worth visiting - Switzerland's most beautiful Rainfalls
Switzerland Rhine Falls is the most powerful waterfall in all of Europe and one of the most popular places to visit in Switzerland. This popular tourist attraction has over one million visitors each year, who all come to see not only the Rhine Falls in Switzerland but the stunning landscape and villages that surround the Rhine River.The Rhine River Falls is found on a stretch of the Rhine River known as the High Rhine. This is where the waters cascade down to a lower level, creating the picturesque Rhine Water Falls. The falls are just a single drop waterfall, however with a width of 150 metres and a height of 23 metres, its size is impressive. Visitors are blown away by the sheer power of the Rhine Falls, particularly during the summer, when the water flows at an impressive rate of 600,000 litres per second. During the winter the falls still flow at a rate of 250,000 litres per second.

From Schaffhausen to Rhine Falls in Switzerland
We start our trip in Schaffhausen, northern Switzerland. The population of this city is about 37‘000. You can see in the video the Munot fortress above Schaffhausen.
We walk along the banks of the Rhine River in about 2 hours to the Rhine Falls.
The Laufen Castle overlooks the river and the falls.
The Rhine Falls is one of the most visited spots in Switzerland.
There are two railway stations near the Rhine Falls: Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall. Travel time to Zurich is about 1 hour.

The Rhine Falls in Switzerland is the biggest waterfall in Europe by volume. Because pictures don’t do it justice, so I put together this video to experience it up close and personal. Whether you want to visit the Rhine Falls from Zurich or anywhere else in Europe, you’ll find all the information you need right here.
➢ Schloss Laufen Basic Information
Ticket prices:-
Adults: CHF5
Kids 6-15: CHF 3

08:00 – 19:00 (June, July, August)
09:00 – 18:00 (April, May, Sept, Oct)
09:00 – 17:00 (Feb, March, Nov)

➢ Rhine Falls Boat Ride :-
TOUR--SHORT DESCRIPTION--PRICE
1) Yellow Rock Tour:- Stops at the Rheinfall Felsen where you can get off and climb to the top of the rock.(Price:-CHF 20)
2) Red Ferry to Laufen Castle:- Fast way to cross the river if you want to see the falls from both sides.( Price:-CHF 3 (One Way) & CHF 5 (Return))
3) Blue 15-Minute Round-Trip:- Short boat ride in the Rhine Falls basin, getting close to the spray. (Price:-CHF 7)
4) Pink 30-Minute Audio tour:- Longer boat ride in the basin and a few hundred metres downstream, listening to interesting facts.(Price:-CHF 11)
Rhine Falls Boat Ride Dates & Times
You can enjoy a Rhine Falls boat ride from April to October. The opening times are as follow:
April and October – 11:00 – 17:00 hrs
May and September – 10:00 – 18:00 hrs
June, July, and August – 09:30 – 18:30 hrs
Here are directions for the three fastest routes.
Rhine Falls Address:-

Southern Bank address: Areal Schloss Laufen, 8447 Dachsen.
➢ Rhine Falls From Zurich by Train
If you’re not joining a Rhine Falls tour from Zurich, the train is the easiest way to get there on a day trip. Most trains take just under or just over an hour, depending on which Rhine Falls train station you choose to get off at. There are three possibilities:
➢ Train from Zurich To Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall
The Rhine Falls train station at Schloss Laufen is the perfect start and end to the short circular hiking trail around the biggest waterfall in Europe.
There are several trains from Zurich to Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall, direct or with one stop in between, every day. The journey is never longer than an hour.
➢ For example, if you take the S12 from Zurich Hauptbahnhof in the direction of Schaffhausen at 09:16, you’ll get off at Schloss Laufen at 10:06. The RE that leaves Zurich at 09:06 will get you there even quicker by 09:50, even with one change to the S12 when you get to Schaffhausen.
➢ Train from Zurich To Neuhausen Rheinfall
If you’d rather start your visit on the Neuhausen side of the Rhine Falls, then that’s where to get off.
This Rhine Falls train station opened in 2015 for the sole purpose of dropping tourists close to the falls on the Neuhausen side. From the station platform, there are bridges and lifts to take you to the river bank.
A good direct connection from Zurich Hauptbahnhof to Neuhausen Rheinfall is the S9 that leaves Zurich at 09:07 and arrives at the falls exactly an hour later.

Info about the place-The easiest way to reach Rhein Falls is either by own or rented car ( one has to have valid European licence) or taking a train to either the train station called Neuhausen Rheinfalls or Schloss laufen am Rheinfalls which isnon the other side of this river.
I have visited this place two times and both times i have travelled by car as it is near from Germany where i was residing.
Both the train stations are just next to the falls. It takes 45-60 minutes from Zurich to get there.
This is the waterfall where Raj Kapoor's movie song from Sangam had been filmed.
