Are you looking for some great places to visit in Utah?

Utah is full of beautiful things to see and do, but it can be hard to decide where to go. In this video, I share the 10 best places that are perfect for a day trip or weekend getaway. From scenic drives in Zion National Park to exploring the Great Salt Lake, these destinations have something for everyone!

Zion National Park is one of the most popular national parks in Utah and for good reason! The park is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, with towering red rock cliffs and canyons, lush green valleys, and clear blue skies. It's a great place for hiking, biking, and camping, or just to take a scenic drive and enjoy the views.

Utah is a state that is located in the western United States. The name Utah comes from the Ute tribe of Native Americans who lived in the area. The state was admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. It is the 45th state to join the United States.

Utah has a rich history that goes back centuries. The first people to live in the area were Native Americans, including the Ute tribe who gave the state its name. The Spanish were some of the first Europeans to explore and settle in Utah, and they founded missions and settlements in the region.

In 1847, Brigham Young and his followers arrived in what is now Salt Lake City and founded the Mormon Church. Over time, other groups of settlers arrived in Utah and helped build this beautiful state.

map of Utah

Utah (/ˈjuːtɑː/ YOO-tah, /ˈjuːtɔː/ (audio speaker iconlisten) YOO-taw) is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. Utah is a landlocked U.S. state bordered to its east by Colorado, to its northeast by Wyoming, to its north by Idaho, to its south by Arizona, and to its west by Nevada. Utah also touches a corner of New Mexico in the southeast. Of the fifty U.S. states, Utah is the 13th-largest by area; with a population over three million, it is the 30th-most-populous and 11th-least-densely populated. Urban development is mostly concentrated in two areas: the Wasatch Front in the north-central part of the state, which is home to roughly two-thirds of the population and includes the capital city, Salt Lake City; and Washington County in the southwest, with more than 180,000 residents. Most of the western half of Utah lies in the Great Basin.

Utah has been inhabited for thousands of years by various indigenous groups such as the ancient Puebloans, Navajo and Ute. The Spanish were the first Europeans to arrive in the mid-16th century, though the region's difficult geography and harsh climate made it a peripheral part of New Spain and later Mexico. Even while it was Mexican territory, many of Utah's earliest settlers were American, particularly Mormons fleeing marginalization and persecution from the United States. Following the Mexican–American War in 1848, the region was annexed by the U.S., becoming part of the Utah Territory, which included what is now Colorado and Nevada. Disputes between the dominant Mormon community and the federal government delayed Utah's admission as a state; only after the outlawing of polygamy was it admitted in 1896 as the 45th.

Slightly over half of all Utahns are Mormons, the vast majority of whom are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), which has its world headquarters in Salt Lake City;[10] Utah is the only state where a majority of the population belongs to a single church.] The LDS Church greatly influences Utahn culture, politics, and daily life, though since the 1990s the state has become more religiously diverse as well as secular.

Utah has a highly diversified economy, with major sectors including transportation, education, information technology and research, government services, mining, and tourism. Utah has been one of the fastest growing states since 2000, with the 2020 U.S. Census confirming the fastest population growth in the nation since 2010. St. George was the fastest-growing metropolitan area in the United States from 2000 to 2005.[] Utah ranks among the overall best states in metrics such as healthcare, governance, education, and infrastructure.[ It has the 14th-highest median average income and the least income inequality of any U.S. state. A 2012 Gallup national survey found Utah overall to be the best state to live in the future based on 13 forward-looking measurements including various economic, lifestyle, and health-related outlook metrics. Utah is known for its natural diversity and is home to features ranging from arid deserts with sand dunes to thriving pine forests in mountain valleys. It is a rugged and geographically diverse state at the convergence of three distinct geological regions: the Rocky Mountains, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau.

Utah covers an area of 84,899 sq mi (219,890 km2). It is one of the Four Corners states and is bordered by Idaho in the north, Wyoming in the north and east, by Colorado in the east, at a single point by New Mexico to the southeast, by Arizona in the south, and by Nevada in the west. Only three U.S. states (Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming) have exclusively latitude and longitude lines as boundaries.

One of Utah's defining characteristics is the variety of its terrain. Running down the middle of the state's northern third is the Wasatch Range, which rises to heights of almost 12,000 ft (3,700 m) above sea level. Utah is home to world-renowned ski resorts made popular by light, fluffy snow and winter storms that regularly dump up to three feet of it overnight. In the state's northeastern section, running east to west, are the Uinta Mountains, which rise to heights of over 13,000 feet (4,000 m). The highest point in the state, Kings Peak, at 13,528 feet (4,123 m),[42] lies within the Uinta Mountains.

At the western base of the Wasatch Range is the Wasatch Front, a series of valleys and basins that are home to the most populous parts of the state. It stretches approximately from Brigham City at the north end to Nephi at the south end. Approximately 75 percent of the state's population lives in this corridor, and population growth is rapid.

Western Utah is mostly arid desert with a basin and range topography. Small mountain ranges and rugged terrain punctuate the landscape. The Bonneville Salt Flats are an exception, being comparatively flat as a result of once forming the bed of ancient Lake Bonneville. Great Salt Lake,. mapa de Utah

Nephi is a city in Juab County in Utah and part of the Provo–Orem, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. Eighty-four miles south of Salt Lake City, 40 miles south of Provo, 60 miles north of Fillmore, and 42 miles northwest of Manti, Nephi is located. Nephi is in central Utah, between I-15 and S.R. 132.

The town of Nephi is centered in a spectacular high desert valley at the base of Mount Nebo, Utah's highest point in the Wasatch Range. When you leave the Wasatch Front’s suburban settlements and enter vast stretches of Utah desert and mountain foothills on I-15 south from Salt Lake City, Nephi represents one of the last glimpses of civilization.

This sets Nephi in an excellent location: on the outskirts of the frontier, with easy access to some of Utah's most beautiful wilderness and just a short drive from the state's largest cities.

Mt. Nebo - The Highest Peak of the Wasatch Range in Utah - Travels With Phil

Mount Nebo is the highest mountain in the Wasatch Range raising up almost 6,700 feet above the valley floor in the nearby town of Mona, Utah. We fly over it, and travel along the Nebo Loop National Scenic Byway to see it from below. Interestingly, Mt. Nebo's highest point is often listed at different elevations. I have seen it range from 11,753 to 11,933 feet, depending on the source. Regardless, it is very prominent and impressive.

The Mt. Nebo National Scenic Byway is a photographer's dream with numerous overlooks and wildlife viewing opportunities. The byway crosses the national forest between Nephi and Payson, climbing to over 9,300 ft. and offering views of the Utah Valley and the Wasatch Mountains. A unique scenic sandstone's startling red color contrasts sharply with the mountain greenery. We'll see forests, valleys and the geological site called the Devil's Kitchen. I have visited the area many times over the years and in different seasons. It has always made or interesting views. - Travels with Phil copyrighted by Phil Konstantin -

We Visited All 29 Counties in Utah!! Here’s what we loved about our Utah road trip!

We’re still stuck in Utah waiting for our double decker bus to be finished so we decided to visit all 29 counties in Utah and find out what each county has to offer. As it turns out, Utah is an amazing place to visit and live!

This took us about 3 weeks and we are still going out and exploring even more in Utah each week. One of the best things about visiting each county in Utah is that we went off the beaten path and didn’t just visit the Mighty 5 National Parks in Utah.

Our tour of Utah was a ton of fun, but we’re still getting used to the cameras and filming so please forgive us for the less than perfect video. We promise we’ll do better next time.

Here’s a quick look at every county in Utah we visited, in order, and what we loved about each of them: (keep in mind, we visited each county in Utah during the summer months, visiting Utah in the winter provides a totally different experience).

2) Salt Lake County - Natural History Museum of Utah and Temple Square.

11) Morgan County - Devil’s Slide
12) Daggett County - Flaming Gorge, Red Canyon Overlook, Ashley National Forest
13) Uintah County - Vernal, Dinosaurland, Dinosaur National Monument, and Fantasy Canyon.
14) Duchesne County - Kings Peak and Starvation State Park
15) Juab County - Nephi, Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge, Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum
16) Millard County - Delta (birthplace of Chrissy Teigen), Topaz Museum, Sunstone Knoll, Lace Curtain, Tabernacle Hill Lava Tubes *thanks to the Exploring Utah Facebook Group for these recommendations in Millard County!
17) Sevier County - Fremont Indian State Park Petroglyphs and Rock Art, Cave of 100 Hands

MAP OF UTAH

hello my friends. this is a map of beautiful utah.

Utah covers an area of 84,899 sq mi. It is one of the Four Corners states and is bordered by Idaho in the north, Wyoming in the north and east, by Colorado in the east, at a single point by New Mexico to the southeast, by Arizona in the south, and by Nevada in the west.

One of Utah's defining characteristics is the variety of its terrain. Running down the middle of the state's northern third is the Wasatch Range, which rises to heights of almost 12,000 ft above sea level. Utah is home to world-renowned ski resorts made popular by light, fluffy snow and winter storms that regularly dump up to three feet of it overnight. In the state's northeastern section, running east to west, are the Uinta Mountains, which rise to heights of over 13,000 feet. The highest point in the state, Kings Peak, at 13,528 feet, lies within the Uinta Mountains.

At the western base of the Wasatch Range is the Wasatch Front, a series of valleys and basins that are home to the most populous parts of the state. It stretches approximately from Brigham City at the north end to Nephi at the south end. Approximately 75 percent of the state's population lives in this corridor, and population growth is rapid. hey, please comment if you have been to utah. continuing...

Western Utah is mostly arid desert with a basin and range topography. Small mountain ranges and rugged terrain punctuate the landscape. The Bonneville Salt Flats are an exception, being comparatively flat as a result of once forming the bed of ancient Lake Bonneville. Great Salt Lake, Utah Lake, Sevier Lake, and Rush Lake are all remnants of this ancient freshwater lake, which once covered most of the eastern Great Basin. West of the Great Salt Lake, stretching to the Nevada border, lies the arid Great Salt Lake Desert. One exception to this aridity is Snake Valley, which is lush due to large springs and wetlands fed from groundwater derived from snow melt in the Snake Range, Deep Creek Range, and other tall mountains to the west of Snake Valley. Great Basin National Park is just over the Nevada state line in the southern Snake Range. One of western Utah's most impressive, but least visited attractions is Notch Peak, the tallest limestone cliff in North America, located west of Delta.

Much of the scenic southern and southeastern landscape is sandstone, specifically Kayenta sandstone and Navajo sandstone. The Colorado River and its tributaries wind their way through the sandstone, creating some of the world's most striking and wild terrain. Wind and rain have also sculpted the soft sandstone over millions of years. Canyons, gullies, arches, pinnacles, buttes, bluffs, and mesas are the common sights throughout south-central and southeast Utah.

This terrain is the central feature of protected state and federal parks such as Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion national parks, Cedar Breaks, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Hovenweep, and Natural Bridges national monuments, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (site of the popular tourist destination, Lake Powell), Dead Horse Point and Goblin Valley state parks, and Monument Valley. The Navajo Nation also extends into southeastern Utah. Southeastern Utah is also punctuated by the remote, but lofty La Sal, Abajo, and Henry mountain ranges. thanks for listening. please subscribe for the best maps and for the love of utah. #utah #utahmap
