Red Oak II, just outside Carthage, Missouri, is a truly magical place to visit. Artist Lowell Davis took old buildings, restored them, and moved them to his farm to create a living outdoor art museum. I can't do it justice in this description, so you'll have to see the video for yourself. And if you're ever near Carthage, it's a must see just off Route 66!

Woodson County, Kansas, is located in the southeastern part of the state and was created 6 years before Kansas became an official state. It has lost almost 70% of it's population from it's peak over 100 years ago and we explore around the county to find out why. Part 1 is focused mainly on the eastern half of Woodson County and we find some really interesting places! I counted about 10 ghost towns and a bunch of unique cemeteries.

Enjoy this walk in Neosho, MO! The name Neosho is generally accepted to be of Native American (most likely Osage) derivation, meaning clear, cold water, referring to local freshwater springs. The springs attracted varying cultures of Native American inhabitants for thousands of years. It was also ideal for the later white settlers, who founded the city in 1833. It was incorporated as a municipal government in 1878. Nicknamed City of Springs, Neosho has long served as an agricultural center and, since 1888, is home of the Neosho National Fish Hatchery, the oldest in the National Fish Hatchery System. It is known locally as the Gateway to the Ozarks, and since 1957 as the Flower Box City.
