Thiruvarur (Tamil pronunciation: [θɪrʊvɑːruːr]) also spelt as Tiruvarur is a town and municipality in Tiruvarur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Tiruvarur district and Tiruvarur taluk. The town was one of the five traditional capitals of the Chola empire, with one of the emperors of the dynasty, Kulothunga Chola I, having it as his capital. The town is believed to be of significant antiquity and has been ruled, at different times, by the Medieval Cholas, Later Cholas, Later Pandyas, Vijayanagar Empire, Marathas and the British. The town is known for the Thyagaraja temple, and the annual chariot festival held in the month of April. The temple chariot of the Thyagaraja temple, weighing 300 tonnes (660,000 lb) and measuring 90 feet (27 m) tall is the largest temple chariot in Tamil Nadu. Thiruvarur is the birthplace of Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Syama Sastri, popularly known as the Trinity of Carnatic music of the 18th century CE.

A wast area over 20 acre's portraying all the goodness of nature,a big grassland and a play area. Opposit to this is the mesmerizing talk of the town which is the Kodaikanal lake. This place has an amazing variety of boating options from which you can pick to your liking.
We then went to chettiar park that looks like a little replica of Bryant park with a little nursery from where you can purchase plants, saplings and seedlings.
And we wrapped up for the day and went back to our stay. Relaxed and had our dinner by the campfire.
DAY 2
After refreshments and breakfast we checked out of our stay and headed to Moir point that's built as a tribute to Moir. This place has an insanely amazing view of Kodaikanal and it's beauty.
Next was the line forest where the majority of 80's & 90's Movies romance, Stunts and fight scenes were filmed.
You can enjoy the view as it is or go on a horse back.
Then we visited guna cave where we were expected to trek down for around 1000 metres.
Next was the pillar rock a mesmerizing beauty with mist around then we headed to green valley view point which will also be our final stop where we will be dropped off.

Description
Venni Karumbeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located at Koilvenni in Tiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Shiva, as the moolavar presiding deity, in his manifestation as Karumbeswarar. His consort, Parvati, is known as Soundaranayagi. The historical name of the place is Tiruvenni.
Also interestingly, worshipping at this temple is said to cure diabetes, and devotees offer sakkarai Pongal, and feed ants by sprinkling a mix of sugar and rava, by the inner wall of the temple precincts. The belief is that as ants eat away the sugar, which reduces diabetes.

This Shivasthalam is about 26 Kms from Thanjavur on the way to Needamangalam via Saliyamangalam and Ammapettai. Immediately after Ammapettai, one has to get down at Koil Venni bus stop and take a branch road going towards north for about 2 Kms to reach the temple.
