Traveling to #okara City Pakistan | History and Beauty of #okara City

Okara is a relatively new #agricultural city during the period of British rule there was a forest of Okaan where the city has been re-built, and from this the name of the city was derived. During British rule, the area was part of #Montgomery District and contained a large saltpeter refinery. There are many textile mills in Okara. The predominantly Muslim population supported the Muslim League and the Pakistan Movement. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the Muslim refugees settled in the Okara District. In 1982, the city became the headquarters of the newly created Okara District. Okara has had a railway line since 1892.
Okara is known for its cattle breed known as Sahiwal and a water buffalo breed known as #Niliravi. It is very rich in livestock population and production. Livestock Production Research Institute #Bahadar_Nagar Farm is a very large government farm near Okara. The farm has many cows, buffalo, bulls (for reproduction), goats and sheep.

Beauty of Astore Valley | Travel to the Pakistan | Places to Visit in the World | Vlog in Urdu

The beauty of Pakistan's northern areas is a sight to behold, where nature reveals its splendour in various forms. From the majestic mountains and glaciers of the Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindu Kush ranges, to the serene lakes and streams of the valleys and plateaus, the northern areas of Pakistan offer a diverse and captivating landscape for tourists and adventurers alike. Here are some of the highlights of this region:

- Mountains: The northern areas of Pakistan are home to some of the highest and most spectacular peaks in the world, such as K2 (8,611m), Nanga Parbat (8,126m), Rakaposhi (7,788m) and Tirich Mir (7,708m). These mountains are not only awe-inspiring in their size and beauty, but also challenge the climbers and trekkers who dare to explore them. The mountains also provide a habitat for rare and endangered wildlife species, such as snow leopards, brown bears, markhors and ibexes.
- Streams: The northern areas of Pakistan are blessed with abundant water resources, as many rivers and streams originate from the melting snow and ice of the mountains. These streams add life and colour to the valleys, as they flow through lush green meadows, orchards and fields. Some of the famous streams in the region are Swat River, Hunza River, Gilgit River and Neelum River. The streams also offer opportunities for fishing, rafting and kayaking for the visitors.
- Lakes: The northern areas of Pakistan have some of the most beautiful and serene lakes in the world, such as Attabad Lake, Saiful Muluk Lake, Shangrila Lake, Rama Lake and Sheosar Lake. These lakes are formed by glacial meltwater or landslides, and reflect the colours of the sky and the surrounding mountains. The lakes are ideal for boating, camping and picnicking, as well as enjoying the tranquility and freshness of nature.
- Snow: The northern areas of Pakistan experience snowfall in winter, which transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland. The snow covers the mountains, valleys and forests with a white blanket, creating a contrast with the blue sky and the green vegetation. The snow also attracts tourists who enjoy skiing, snowboarding and sledding in places like Malam Jabba, Naltar Valley and Murree.
- Cool breezing: The northern areas of Pakistan have a pleasant climate in summer, as the cool breezes from the mountains provide relief from the heat of the plains. The cool breezing also carries the fragrance of flowers and fruits, such as apricots, cherries, apples and walnuts. The cool breezing is refreshing and invigorating for the body and mind of the visitors.
- Lush greenery: The northern areas of Pakistan have a rich diversity of flora, as they lie in two biodiversity hotspots; Mountains of Central Asia and Himalayas. The region has a variety of forests, grasslands, alpine meadows and wetlands, which host a range of plants and flowers. Some of the notable plants in the region are pine trees, deodar trees, juniper trees, birch trees, wild roses, lilies, orchids and edelweiss. The lush greenery adds beauty and charm to the landscape, as well as provides food and shelter for many animals and birds.
- Animals: The northern areas of Pakistan have a remarkable fauna diversity, as they harbour many endemic and threatened species of animals. Some of the mammals found in the region are Himalayan brown bear, snow leopard, markhor, ibex, marmot, wolf, fox, jackal and hare. Some of the birds found in the region are Himalayan monal, chukar partridge, golden eagle, lammergeier, peregrine falcon and hoopoe. Some of the reptiles found in the region are cobra, viper, monitor lizard and tortoise. The animals add life and diversity to the ecosystem, as well as attract wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
- Tourism: The northern areas of Pakistan have a lot to offer for tourists who want to experience nature's beauty at its best. The region has many attractions for sightseeing, such as ancient fortresses (Altit Fort¹², Baltit Fort¹²), historical monuments (Shalimar Gardens²), religious sites (Faisal Mosque²), cultural festivals (Shandur Polo Festival²), museums (Lok Virsa Museum²) and markets (Raja Bazaar²). The region also has many activities for adventure lovers, such as hiking, trekking, mountaineering, skiing, rafting, paragliding and camping. The region also has many facilities for accommodation, transportation and communication, making it easy and comfortable for the visitors to explore and enjoy the beauty of the northern areas of Pakistan..
