It is a memorial to Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi at the site where he was assassinated as a result of a suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, in Tamil Nadu, India on 21 May 1991.
Designed by K T Ravindran, it was built by the Central Public Works Department and was opened up in 2003 by Gandhi's widow Sonia Gandhi and former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam.

Kallar is a place located in the foothills of the Nilgiri mountain. The name Kallar originally evolved from the name of the River Kallar. Kallar Horticulture Farm is the most playing role in Kallar. This place is a perennial source of gravitational water from Kallar stream flowing from Coonoor along the hill slopes. Kallar literally means Kal – “Stones” and Aaru – “River”.
It is an astonishing natural beauty with Kallar waterfalls implementing, it attracts thousands of tourists from in and around Coimbatore. This place receives an average rainfall of 1200 mm. Spread over 70-80 rainy days. The main attractions are The Black thunder theme park, Kallar river and the Kallar horticulture farm.
The State Horticultural farm (Kallar) established in 1900 with a total area of about 22 acres. Kallar Horticulture Farm is part of the State Horticultural Farm under the Department Of Horticulture. It lies about one km from the first hairpin bend where the Mettupalayam-Udhagamandalam road enters the ghat section. People call this place “Museum of Crops” as it nurtures a myriad variety of horticulture crops.
Being the horticulture farm it has major plantation crops like Jack graft, Lime layers, Pepper, Clove seedlings, Nutmeg Crops, silver Oak, Mangosteen, Arecanut seed, Coffee, lichi and some minor fruits and ornamental plants. The farm produces high quality of tree species, fruit trees other economic crops and also serve as an educational centre for many students.
Some of the unique crops of the farm includes Mangosteen (known as the queen of fruits), Durian (believed to have aphrodisiac property) to help overcome problems of infertility, Litchi, Rambutan (hairy and non-hairy variety), Velvette and Malay Apple, Surinam Cherry, Longsat, Eggfruit and avocado (butter fruit).
Due to Massive Landslide, the farm affected in the year 2006. They also sell saplings of 32 items including ornamental plants, areca nut, lime, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.
THE HORTICULTURE FARM ALSO HAS A SALES COUNTER FOR SEASONAL FRUITS, VEGETABLES, PICKLES, JAMS, MASALAS, ETC.

Arakkonam - Takkolam New Detour Line | Open To Traffic | Short Travel Review And Info
This video was about Arakkonam to Takkolam new detour line update. From last week new detour line was open to traffic. I travelled in Train No : 56005 Arakkonam - Chengalpattu passenger train. During my travel observed that trains towards Chengalpattu started to operate in new detour line instead of old route. But still the train was hauled by Tondiarpet(TNP) WDG - 3A 12661 Diesel Loco only.
Good news is, the new detour line was connected to Chennai - Katpadi line as well as Arakkonam - Renigunta line too. More interesting thing is new detour line was connected to Melpakkam by pass line too. In future, trains from Renigunta can directly reach Arakkonam - Takkolam new detour line without entering Arakkonam station . As of now train No : 16351/16352 Mumbai - Nagercoil Bi Weekly express, Train No : 11043/11044 Mumbai LTT - Madurai Weekly express, Train No : 56041/56042 Tirupati - Puducherry daily passenger train as to go loco reversal at Arakkonam station for running in new detour line. In future either of above express trains might skip Arakkonam station and operate via Melpakkam bypass line i guess.
As far as speed limit is concerned it was restricted to 75 kmph now. In future once the track get settled speed limit might be increased for the new detour line. After more than 10 years, long delayed electrified new line was finally open to traffic.
This new detour line was 2 kms long than the normal route.

As per media reports EMU trains to Arakkonam will be extend from Tirumalpur by the end of this month.
