Nakhon Si Thammarat (นครศรีธรรมราช) is both a province and city in Southern Thailand. It’s more of an off the beaten path destination that not a lot of people visit, however I think it’s a wonderful city where you can really get a taste of Thai culture and it has an amazing mixture of incredibly delicious Thai food and attractions that you can do.
In this video I’ll give you a full tour of Nakhon Si Thammarat, we’ll eat at some of the best Thai restaurants in the city and visit some of the most famous attractions all in a single day of food and fun!

Nakhon Sawan Thailand Gateway To The North The Heavenly City
Nakhon Sawan city and province is one of my favorite locations to visit in north central Thailand and in my opinion is superior to many of the over rated famous tourist traps like Chiang Mai city farther north. Oddly totally ignored and forgotten by many guide books and travel channels.
Some of the best and cheapest Thai food found anywhere in Thailand prices range between twenty to fifty baht can be found here in numerous locations throughout the city.
Transportation throughout the city by Songthaew from 6am to 5pm is at a set rate of 10 baht no so having to deal with dodgy and corrupt transport that is so common in many tourist areas. Just hand the driver 10 baht once you arrive at your location.
If you are looking for your typical tourist trap party town with foreign food, massage shops, girly bars and motorcycle rentals you will likely find this city and province very boring. I suggest you head directly to your nearest tourist slum.

But there are also so many different types of tourist attractions that we don’t really know why it’s not busier with tourists.

ARE WE CRAZY!? We climbed Khao Nor mountain in NAKHON SAWAN - Thailand
It was a challenge, but we did it! We climbed Khao No mountain in Nakhon Sawan!
Endless stairs, slippery rocks and steep ladders took us to the top in 45 minutes.
Come early because the metal ladders get boiling hot! We got even blisters on our hands.
Also don't try to attempt to climb when it's raining, it might be too dangerous! Chances are you slip and fall,...
Once up there, the view was incredible!
One more thing,..The monkeys in the street below didn't follow us, they were only curious during the first few meters :-) They stay close to the little stalls where tourists buy food for them,...

HEAVENLY CITY - Nakhon Sawan - Origin of the Chao Phraya river - THAILAND
Welcome to Nakhon Sawan, a city 240 km north of Bangkok.
Here the Ping and the Nan river come together to form the Chao Phraya river.
The monument is called Pasan and you can visit it free of charge.
The city park is called Paradise Park and is a wonderfull place to hang out after working hours.
We went to April's Brasseries and to the Analog Bar for a drink and some food. Both are located next to park.
We enjoyed this city very much and will definitely return in the future!

THE BEST MOUNTAIN HIKE IN NAKHON SAWAN
Baldy Brian in Thailand climbs Khao No in Nakhon Sawan province. Khao No, Khao Kaeo is a group of limestone peaks that can be clearly seen from the Phaholyothin Road,45 km from Nakhon Sawan city, The climb up to the mountain, starting from Wat Khao Nor, takes around one hour and requires a reasonable amount of fitness to complete.
It is recommended to start this climb late afternoon when the sun is on the opposite side of the mountain and it's a little bit cooler. Be sure to make it down by dusk so you can join the locals watching millions of bats leaving the mountain for the evening; it really is a spectacular sight to see.

Mae Wong National Park (Thai อุทยานแห่งชาติแม่วงก์) is a national park in Thailand. This park lies in Mae Wong and Mae Poen Districts of Nakhon Sawan Province and Pang Sila Thong District of Kamphaeng Phet Province, in the west of Thailand. It was declared a national park on 14 September 1987 as the 55th national park of Thailand.
Mae Wong National Park is in the Dawna Range. The park is rugged and hilly along the Dawna Mountain Range, especially on the north and west. With the highest peak, Khao Mo Ko Chu at 1,964 m. above sea level it is one of highest mountain ranges in Thailand. Three main rivers, of which the Mae Wong River is the biggest, drain the park. Notable places in the park are Mae Krasa, Mae Rewa, Mae Ki Waterfalls, Mokochu Peak, and Chong Yen.
