Hall to Nabburg, Bavaria
We were heading north. This short film covers two days through Bavaria, starting at the Austrian border near Mittenwald, home of so many great stringed musical instruments. The entrance into Wasserburg is a bit special (2m30s). Coming into Nabburg (5m00s) was nice, too.
Think of the video as a simple accompaniment to the music. This Daft Punk piece is well suited to easy travelling.

Über dem Lauterachtal thront seit dem 10. Jhd. die Burganlage von Kastl. 1098 wurde beschlossen, die Burg in ein Kloster umzuwandeln.
1103 erfolgte die Gründung und 1129 wurden der Chor und die Egidiuskapelle geweiht. Die Bauarbeiten für die Klosterkirche wurden Ende des 12. Jhds. beendet. Durch ständige Umbauten und Erweiterungen erhielt die Kirche ihr heutiges Erscheinungsbild. 1782 ging sie in den Besitz der Malteser über.
Die Basilika wird seit dem Jahr 1808 als Pfarrkirche genutzt. Ein spätgotisches Hauptportal, ein vierjochiges Tonnengewölbe, der Stützenwechsel von Säulen und Pfeilern im Hauptschiff, die gotische Steintumba in der Vorhalle, was einst das Grab der verstorbenen Prinzessin Anna war, machen die Kirche zu einem echten Schmuckstück.
Prinzessin Anna war die Tochter König Ludwigs des Bayern und verstarb 1319. Die Mumie des eineinhalb Jahre alten „Kastler Kindes“ wurde bis Ende 2013 konserviert und kann wieder besichtigt werden. Außerdem birgt die Vorkirche den Sarkophag des Feldherrn Schweppermann.

Overseas PCS to Vilseck/Grafenwoehr, Germany. Government leased off post housing, 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms. Specifically this is the Steinfels community, but the housing layout is very similar to those in the Mantel community. Steinfels is a sub area of Mantel. 25 min from Vilseck and 10 minutes from Grafenwoehr.

Before heading off to Fall break, I got the chance of going to Berlin with my classmates. Even though not everyone was in the video, I got to say they made my experience one of the best in Germany so far. Also thanks to our geography and biology teachers for supervising a bunch of teens for two days. I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend my time in Berlin with.
After Berlin, I headed over to Kiel to visit my host brothers and his roommates. I stayed in Kiel for a few days, chilling, sightseeing and experience the college life of Germans. The following week, I went to Ireland with my host parents. Also thanks to my host parents for paying for my trip to Ireland and for the things that they have done for me in the past months. Two and one half weeks of break was so great or in German it would be sehr schön

Station gemacht. Freunde von uns haben hier ein Gästezimmer bezogen.
Von hier aus haben wir Ausflüge z. B. nach Schwandorf und in den Naturpark Höllohe gemacht.
Das zeigt das Leben und Wohnen der Menschen in der Oberpfalz der vergangenen Jahrhunderte.
Hoch über dem Fluss Naab thront die Altstadt von Nabburg.
Sehenswert ist der Kunst- und Wasserweg am Hammersee.
Die letzten Stunden haben wir in Regensburg verbracht.
Freilandmuseum der Oberpfalz
Das Freilandmuseum in der Oberpfalz liegt in Neusath-Perschen bei Nabburg. Es halt allerhand zu bieten: Alte, wieder aufgebaute Bauernhäuser, alte und seltene Haustierrassen und nicht zuletzt ein sehr schönes Wirtshaus.
