3 days in AGRA, INDIA! (10 things to do & scams to avoid)
It's our first time as foreigners in India and we're checking out some of the best things to do in Agra! We take our first Indian Railways train to the city, where we encounter some of India's best sights, but also the most intense scams & touts we've experienced in our travels so far. We hope you enjoy as we guide you around the best (and worst) that Agra has to offer!
Things to do in Agra (featured in our video!):
1. Take the Indian Railway! It's a must experience for any trip to India! We booked second class on the Gatimaan Express from Delhi to Agra!
2: Take an Indian food cooking class! Lots of Homestays offer them! (including our accommodations, shout out to the Orchid Retreat fam! Totally recommend them & its walking distance to the Taj! :D)
3. Take a tuk tuk (auto rickshaw)! It really does give you the full India experience... but we recommend having your hotel call a reliable one for you and NOT hopping into one that approaches you! (learn from our mistakes!!!)
4. Visit one of the markets! We recommend the Kinari Bazaar, but there are supposed to be a lot of great ones to visit!
5. Visit the Shahi Jawa Masjid! It's a short stop and super close to the Agra Fort!
6. See the Taj Mahal! (need I say more?)
7. Head to the Tomb of Akbar the Great! It's less crowded with tourists and a stunning Mughal masterpiece!
8. Visit the Guru ka Tal (or any Sikh temple) to experience Langar and learn a bit more about Sikhism!
9. Visit the Agra Red Fort! It's another hugely popular spot and a massive fort you could easily spend hours exploring!
10. See the Baby Taj Mahal! It is lesser-known but is supposed to have some beautiful artwork in tact. (don't get sick and miss it like us!)
We debated if we should include the scams because we still had an amazing time in Agra and don't want to present it in a bad light or make any generalizations. However, we got a unanimous (114-1) vote on an Instagram poll to include them. We think other tourists should know what to expect and how to handle it if they encounter them on their own trip. We did not include (or even film) MANY of the hassles/minor scams, but our general advice is to get away ASAP and head towards a crowded area! Most scams are petty in nature, but be sure to be situationally aware and use common sense. Hope this helps! :)

Indian street food - In this video, I will take you on a street food tour in Ahmedabad where I will show you Indian curry as you've never seen before.
To start our Indian street food tour, we went to a 120-year-old thali restaurant in Ahmedabad to have one of the best vegetarian Gujarati-style thali you could possibly eat.
To continue our Indian street food tour in Ahmedabad, we headed to the old town for insanely delicious mutton keema samosa and spicy mutton kebabs.

After that, we went to a restaurant that completely blew me away. They sell Indian curry like you've never seen before. The best street food experience I've had in Ahmedabad.

Tiger Dance Puli Kali is a colorful recreational folk art from the state of Kerala.[1] It is performed by trained artists to entertain people on the occasion of Onam, an annual harvest festival, celebrated mainly in the Indian state of Kerala. On the fourth day of Onam celebrations (Nalaam Onam), performers painted like tigers and hunters in bright yellow, red, and black dance to the beats of instruments like Udukku and Thakil. Literal meaning of Pulikali is the 'play of the tigers' hence the performance revolve around the theme of tiger hunting. The folk art is mainly practiced in Thrissur district of Kerala. Best place to watch the show is at Thrissur on the fourth day of Onam, where Pulikali troupes from all over the district assemble to display their skills. The festival attracts thousands of people to the Thrissur city. Pulikali is also performed during various other festive seasons.

Vietnam - Another South East Asia destination, Vietnam is becoming more and more accessible for tourists. Learn about the history of the country whilst in the cities but head out along the coastline, visiting smaller cities and towns for a different perspective.
Dubai and the UAE - Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait offer a whole different experience to South East Asia. Mama Bhagne Pahar:
It is a pair of almost spherical natural boulders of granite rock, one balancing on the top of other. The balancing of the rocks are so surprising that it is a famous landmark in West Bengal.The site has a number of boulders splintered across the place. It is the extreme eastern part of the Chota Nagpur plateau where the granite is gray and composed of glassy quartz pink, gray feldspar and black mica. At the base of the rocks is a temple of Shiva entitled Pahareswar.
Bakreshwar:
It is a popular pilgrimage destination. Located in Birbhum, Bakreswar is known as one of the 51 Sakthi Peethas of India. Bakreswar is famous for its Bakreswar temple which is dedicated to lord Bakranath (Shiva) and goddess Kali. The temple is believed to be erected at the spot where the forehead and brows of Goddess Sathi fell. The main temple of Bakreswar is surrounded by many small shrines which are dedicated to lord Shiva. There is a Temple Tank and Sacred Tree. Bakreswar is also known for its eight hot springs which has varying temperatures. The hottest of these springs is called Agnikund and it has a temperature of about 80° C. It is believed that the water of these springs have healing properties. A big mela is held every year on the day of Shiva-Ratri.
Massanjore:
The main attraction of the region is the huge dam built on the Mayurakshi River. Explore the exquisite natural surrounding of Massanjore by enjoying a leisurely walk throughout the region. You can also visit the nearby picturesque villages inhabited by the tribals. Plus, the boundary of Jharkhand is also not very far from Massanjore. The colossal dam of the Mayurakshi River and the immense water body has made Massanjore an ideal tourist spot, which is perfect for enjoying a weekend tour. You can locate Masanjore in the way from Suri to Dumka. It is specially the unpolluted environment of Massanjore, which has a positive effect on the health of the tourists.
