Walking around inside and outside of the main exhibition hangar of the Moorabbin Air Museum.
Plenty of historical artifacts there including some unique pieces. Well worth the visit for anyone interested in aviation in general and particularly in history of the Australian aviation. About 3 hours should give you the time to look at everything and read every material there is.
Their souvenir shop is pretty good, the staff there is fantastic, although at the time of my visit (November 2023) there was no cafe, only a vending machine.

The Australian National Aviation Museum is an aviation museum at the Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne, Australia. It was originally named the Moorabbin Air Museum. The Moorabbin Air Museum is an aviation museum at Moorabbin Airport located 24 km (14.9 mi) south from the Melbourne CBD, Victoria, Australia. It was founded in 1962 as the Australian Aircraft Restoration Group, in an attempt to maintain a World War II-era Bristol Beaufighter aircraft.
It has since become a museum, with a large aircraft collection. The collection consists of nearly 60 aircraft and 25 engines.
Over the years the Moorabbin Air Museum has been recognised by a number of awards, the most prestigious of which was a Certificate of Merit in the 1985 Museum of the Year Awards. Apart from the preservation of aircraft, the Museum's other great accomplishment has been the number of young members who have gone on to careers in aviation or museology; the experience gained while at the Museum standing them in good stead in their working lives.
In September 2021, the Museum was granted a lease on land opposite the current site, increasing total size by around 4000sqm. A new facility will be built there as part of Stage One of the Community Heritage Precinct, and will finally see all aircraft undercover and protected for the first time in the Museum's history.

Visit to the Australian National Aviation Museum | 'Incomplete' VLOG 1 | Melbourne Diaries
Here's my first vlog!
Did an unplanned visit to the Australian National Aviation Museum last weekend and it was amazing! If you live in or around Melbourne and if you are in to aviation, especially if you are in to classic aircraft, this is a must visit place. Its very affordable and well worth it. Biggles, who was our guide(all included in the ticket), made the experience very enjoyable and complete.
Ticket prices were: Adults $10, Kids $5, Concession $7
The reason I called this an 'incomplete' VLOG is because a lot of the footage I took that day ended up corrupted. :( I still hope that you enjoy this and please comment any tips on how I can improve my vlogging and what content you'll like to see in my channel.

Melbourne’s well-known shopping centres also include a variety of discount shopping outlets. If you’re sick of paying full retail prices and looking for a bargain, then plan a visit to DFO Moorabbin.
DFO is a great spot to shop for big brands at low prices – with big bargains and big savings up to 70% off all year round.
The Moorabbin DFO is the largest factory outlet in Victoria and you will find the biggest range of brands at this centre.
Here, you will find stores of all kinds of brands including Cotton On, Guess, Jacqui E, Just Jeans, Bonds, Portman and Diana Ferrari. At this outlet, you’ll find everything from clothes to shoes, to children’s wear, homewares, bedding, sporting goods and accessories. Locals often find DFO as one of the best places to shop for discounts in Melbourne.
