The name is derived from the Ancient Greek word ἄκρον : ákron signifying a summit or high point. Having grown up in Akron...didn't go to the Falls often or at least as I remember...so not very familiar with the city...not sure where major landmarks were or the city center. Hope to comeback and do a proper tour walking around when I can come back up from Columbus.

Gorge Metro Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. USA l ThatGuyJunJun
In today's video...we are at Gorge Metro Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. USA. Part of the Summit Metro Parks system...the Gorge Metro Park trail lies along the Cuyahoga River and is between two other connected trails...Glens Trail and the Highbridge Trail. The Gorge Trail is 1.8 miles long (2.9km) and has some highlight destinations like a fishing dock, a dam, and a large cave structure. There are restrooms, picnic sites, and an open-air shelter and is pet friendly. Most of the main trail is well maintained but there are some trail parts that are categorized as primitive, which means uneven, steep, and narrow terrain. It's a beautiful park...especially in the Fall...surrounded by the changing foliage alongside the Cuyahoga River. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for coming along!

We takes the kids to the Haunted Car Wash in Medina, Ohio. The Rainforest Car Wash off I-71 in Medina, Ohio transforms itself every weekend in October as a spooky Halloween attraction that the entire family will love. The Haunted Car Wash is a great way to socially distance and still have a frightfully good time for Halloween 2020.
To go through the haunted car wash it is $20 a car. Being a weekend event, the line can get pretty long, but it is worth the wait.
Blankets of colorful soapy foam cover your car as demon clowns approach your car while you drive through the terrifying tunnel of suds!
This is a great opportunity to clean your car and have some great fall fun with the family!!!

What can rubber buy you? If you're Frank Augustus Seiberling - this massive estate and world-famous gardens. This is the estate of the founder of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Take an inside look at this Tudor revival manor with 95% original contents left behind by the family that called it home for 40 years. The first time I heard of the place was from a gardening book showcasing the estate's 550' long birch allée. The gardens are spectacular - well worth a visit indeed.

Peninsula to Brandywine Falls bike ride at Cuyahoga Valley NP
Connecting two of the most popular areas of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this 9-mile bike ride takes you from Peninsula to Brandywine Falls. It uses the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, the Old Carriage Trail and the Summit Bike & Hike Trail.
I started at Lock 29 and arrived at Brandywine Falls about an hour and a half later. along the way I passed Stumpy Basin Wetland and boardwalk, the Boston Store, multiple locks from the canal era, beautiful forests and fields.
Brandywine Falls is 65 feet tall and one of the most-visited areas of the national park. It can easily be called the best waterfall in Northeast Ohio.
The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail is one of the best bike trails in Ohio at stretches 110 miles from Cleveland to New Philadelphia. The Summit Bike & Hike Trail is 34 miles from Bedford to Portage County and it was one of the first rails-to-trails conversions in the nation.
If you're spending time in Peninsula in the national park, consider that you can rent a bike at Century Cycles, follow this bike route and see an incredible waterfall! I hope you enjoy the ride. - John

I had to take a trip this fall to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Cuyahoga Valley is Ohio's only National Park and the trails are undeniably a reason to visit the park. Both hiking and biking trails available to meet visitors searching for any speed.
I started the trip at Boston Mill Visitor Center and walked around the town of Boston Ohio before heading to the Ledges trailhead.
I needed to explore a variety of Cuyahoga Valley National Park Trails and started with the Ledges Trail. The Ledges Trail at Cuyahoga Valley is a loop that travels through a the Ledges or a gorge close to the Icebox Cave. The Icebox Cave is currently closed to rehabilitate the bat population, but that still leaves plenty to explore on the Ledges Trail.
I ended the day at the Ledges Overlook, a popular sunset spot since it is high and looks west over Cuyahoga Valley.

Eat n Park Closing at Chapel Hill
The Ea'n Park here in the Akron area, near Chapel Hill Mall will be closing on February 17th. We stop in one last time for the breakfast buffet, and I recall all of the times I'd ever been there, mostly.
I called the corporate office to ask why the locations were closing so abruptly. The message at the being was a voicemail from the public relations department at Eat'n Park after I requested to speak with the CEO.
Eat'n Park was one of the original sponsors of Mister Rodgers.
