Hemos regresado a la hermosa Provincia de Monte Plata, conocida por muchos como la Provincia Esmeralda y Olímpica de la Patria. En esta ocasión para redescubrir sus atributos naturales y culturales, de la mano del proyecto Aldeas Digitales de la FAO.
Este proyecto busca agrupar en una misma plataforma a los productores y actores del Turismo Sostenible en la provincia, para ayudarlos a tener acceso al mercado digital y sus millones de usuarios.
Es una manera de beneficiar a los locales, brindándoles nuevas herramientas para facilitar su inserción al mundo cibernético. In this Documentary, I take you along for an adventurous journey around both Puerto Plata City, as well as checking out outlying beach towns. This trip is partly done by GoPro in the streets and by air with drone while visiting and interviewing various expats and tourists along the way.
The quick visits or drone sights include the Malecon with its beach bars / restaurants, the sculpture of Neptune, malls of Jumbo and La Sirena (Supermarkets), the new Amphitheater, Fortaleza San Felipe (fortress), the statue of General Gregorio Luperon, the light tower, the Teleferico (cable car) and Mt. Isabel, Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club, Ocean World Adventure Park and Marina, Fun City Go Kart park, Sosua bay with Playa Alicia and Sosua beach, Encuentro, Kite Beach, and Cabarete beach.

Santuario Santo Cristo de los Milagros
La Iglesia del Santo Cristo de los Milagros está ubicada en el pequeño pueblo de Bayaguana a unos cincuenta de Santo Domingo, la capital de República Dominicana.
Cuenta la leyenda que una imagen de Cristo tallada en madera fue encontrada en las playas de Yaguana en 1606. Luego de este descubrimiento la madre de la niña que encontró la escultura que estaba ciega recuperó milagrosamente la vista. La escultura fue llevada a la Iglesia de Bayaguana.
En cada uno de sus diecisiete vitrales se cuenta la historia de Jesús de Nazaret. Desde el día de la Anunciación hasta su Resurrección, un verdadero Vía Christi.
Esta obra de 2,927 metros cuadrados posee tres niveles, recoge toda la vida de Jesús y la época post Cristo. Es una excelente opción para visitar en Navidad.
La iglesia del Santo Cristo de los Milagros en Bayaguana es un templo dedicado al patrón San Juan Bautista, uno de los principales atractivos de la provincia Esmeralda.
Como llegar:
Salto Alto
Salto Alto es un lugar ubicado en los límites de los Haitises a unos 17 Kilómetros de la provincia de bayaguana. Para llegar a salto alto debes de primero de visitar el Municipio de bayaguana y llegar a Sierra de agua.
Comenzamos nuestra ruta pasando por Santa Cruz
seguimos por el Balneario Los pomos
esta vía de acceso esta en muy buenas condiciones, alguno que otro bache, pero muy buena. El Accesos a Salto Alto se hace a través de una finca que es privada se paga 100 pesos x persona.
En el lugar predomina la Roca Caliza, La Roca Marga Gris que está en la base de la cascada, esta en un tipo de roca sedimentaria blanda compuesta por calcita y Arcilla y la vegetación latiforeada. Recuerda no contaminar el lugar bien o mejor de lo que lo encontraste
Una maravilla de lugar, 3 cascadas en una. Para toda la familia.
El acceso, aunque no está asfaltado, es apto para cualquier vehículo.

Monumento natural salto de Socoa – Monte Plata
El monumento natural salto de Socoa está ubicado en la ruta del parque nacional los Haitises, dentro de las verdes y hermosas montañas del municipio de sabana grande de boya, provincia monte plata. Se puede llegar por la autopista del nordeste, aproximadamente 60 kilómetros de la autopista de las Américas (45 minutos desde santo domingo).
Este balneario tiene una cascada de uno 20 metros de altura que culmina en una piscina natural de aguas cristalinas y frías en el que se puede dar un rico baño, este es uno de los emocionantes lugares naturales de esta región. Una gran cantidad de personas acuden a admirar la belleza de sus aguas y el hermoso bosque húmedo tropical que rodea la zona.
Este salto está dentro de la zona con mayores recursos ambientales de la República Dominicana y está considerado como uno de los lugares ecoturísticas más maravillosos del país, es un balneario ideal para el disfrute familiar o en compañía de amigos.
El Salto de Socoa se encuentra en una propiedad privada, por lo que hay que pagar una entrada de RD$50 por persona y si quieres estacionar dentro de la propiedad, no cercana al salto, te cuesta unos RD$100.00 pesos.
El recorrido para llegar al salto incluye un sendero con escaleras hacia el balneario y se recomienda ir con calzado apropiado ya que la zona tiene gran cantidad de piedras.

For Punta Cana, March and July are the most popular months for tourists to visit.
September and October are the most unpopular months because they are the peak months for the Caribbean hurricane season.
Rainfall and temperatures make March, April and July ideal months to visit Punta Cana.
Rainfall also makes October, followed by May and November as the worst months to visit. September is not far behind.
However, prices for resorts tend to decline in the fall because of the bad weather.
The Punta Cana weather forecast usually calls for warm and beautiful days, but there are times when it is not so beautiful.
This resort enclave in the Dominican Republic is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean. In fact, the country is known for its all-inclusive resorts and beautiful beaches.
Because of the resorts and beaches, visitors often stay on property for the entire vacation and take advantage of Punta Cana's typical Caribbean weather.
AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
The average monthly high temperature is less than 85 degrees Fahrenheit and average low is less than 74 degrees, the World Meteorological Organization says.
On a day-to-day basis, however, the actual temperature can vary widely.
Temperatures stay in a narrow range throughout the year with an average high of 87 degrees in August and September compared to an average high of 82 degrees in January and December.
Water temperatures remain warm and comfortable as a result.
Temperatures that stay above 80 degrees during the day year round make Punta Cana an attractive Caribbean destination even during the winter.
AVERAGE RAINFALL
Rainfall in Punta Cana is normal for most places in the Caribbean. The monthly average is 3.6 inches, while typically it rains about 9.5 days during month.
Rainfall jumps to nearly five inches in May, which is the month with the second most rain during the year.
October sees the heaviest average rainfall with six inches total. June, August, September and November also have higher than average amounts of rain.
February and March have the least rain, averaging about 2 inches each. It rains less than seven days a month, another low point for the year, in February through April, which makes the spring time a good time to go.
