1. Christ the King, Poland
Christ the King statue in Świebodzin, Poland is 52.5 meters (172 feet) and is considered the tallest statue of Jesus in the world, including the mound and crown. It was completed in 2010, built by a Polish priest Sylwester Zawadski, with a cost of over USD 1.4 million of donations from the locals.
2. Christ the King, Portugal
Inspired by Rio’s Christ the Redeemer statue, Christ the King was built between the years 1959 – 1969 in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a symbol of gratitude by the Portuguese, for being largely untroubled during the Second World War. The statue itself is just about 25 meters tall, but stands on a 269-feet tall pedestal on a cliff over the Tagus river, and this makes it the tallest monument of Jesus in the world.
3. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro
Everyone knows this iconic statue of Jesus towering over Rio in Brazil. The 30-meter was constructed between 1922 and 1931 and is now one of the seven wonders of the world and probably the most famous monument of Jesus in the world. However, it is just the 5th biggest statue of Jesus Christ in the world, with a height of 30 meters (98 feet – not including its 8-meter or 26-feet pedestal). The arms of the statue are spread wide, spanning a distance of 28 meters (92 feet). It has lightning rods on the arms, head and hands because it is hit by lightning 12 times every summer on the average.
4 . Cristo de la Concordia, Cochabamba, Bolivia
The second largest statue of Jesus in the world, Cristo de la Concordia (Christ of Peace) stands at a height of 33 meters — one for every year of Christ’s life — and is just a few centimeters higher than the Christ Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. To reach the statue, visitors have to climb 2,000 steps up the hill, and on Sundays, visitors can climb to the arms of the statue for breathtaking views.
5 . Christ of the Abyss, Key Largo, Florida
Christ of the Abyss is a 2.6 meter submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ in Florida and is just one of three created by the Italian artist Guido Galletti who designed it. It is held in place by a 9-ton concrete base and was submerged in 1965. It is a highlight for swimmers, scuba divers and the local glass-bottom boat tours.
6. Cristo Rey, Colombia
Built in 1953, the Cristo Rey is a statue 26 meters tall in the Cerro de los Cristales in the village of Los Andes, west of the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. It is located on top of a large mountain in the city and only fit visitors can climb to the top to get a taste of the panoramic views it brings. Others will have to hire a cab if they desire to reach the top.
7. Monument to the Divine Savior of the World, El Salvador
Built in 1942, this monument has Jesus standing on Earth, which is on top of a tall concrete base. It is located in San Salvador City in El Salvador. It was damaged to some extent in an earthquake in 1986 but was repainted and restored in 2010.
8. Jesus de greatest, Imo state, Nigeria
Imo state in Nigeria is known for its grand gestures using statues. After a 43-year-old businessman, Obinna Onuoha, had a dream in 1997 to build a giant statue of Jesus, the ‘tallest statue of Jesus in Africa’ commenced construction in 2013. Unveiled three years later, the statue stands in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Abajah village in Imo state. Made of white marble, the statue stands at 8.53 metres (28.0 ft) tall and weighs 40 tons. It is the tallest statue of Jesus in Africa and one of the tallest statues in Africa.
9. Christ of Vũng Tàu, Vietnam
This huge statue of Jesus began construction in 1974 and was completed in 1993. It is 32 metres (105 ft) high and standing on a 4 metres (13 ft) high platform, making it a total of 36 metres (118 ft). The arms outstretched to a total of 18.3 metres (60 ft). One impressive thing is that it has an internal 133-step staircase allowing visitors to climb inside.
10. Christ the Redeemer of the Andes, Chile – Argentina border
A sign of peace, Christ the Redeemer is located right on the border of Chile and Argentina and was unveiled in 1904 to mark the peaceful resolution of a border dispute between the two countries.

1 - Puente del Inca
À primeira vista, parece tudo feito pelas mãos do homem. Ao olhar mais atentamente, percebemos que a paisagem em tons de ocre é mesmo obra da natureza. A Puente del Inca surpreende pela grandiosidade da ponte natural sobre o Rio Caves. São 48 metros de comprimento e 28 de largura, encantando os turistas. A pouco mais de 180km de Mendoza, seguindo pela Ruta 7, a curiosa formação geomorfológica impulsiona a vida do pequeno povoado (com menos de 200 habitantes). A paisagem é completada pela Cordilheira dos Andes.
2 - Cerro de La Gloria
No alto do Cerro de La Gloria (ou Monte da Glória), o conjunto de imagens de nome “Ejército de los Andes” tem como ponto alto o General San Martín sobre o cavalo. É uma homenagem aos 100 anos da travessia da Cordilheira dos Andes, pelo exército a comando do general, em busca da independência argentina. Outros momentos desse capítulo argentino também estão representados. É quase como em um livro de história.
O Cerro de La Gloria está localizado dentro do Parque General San Martín. A vista é digna da importância do monumento; do alto é possível ver toda a cidade de Mendoza e ainda apreciar um lindo pôr do sol.
3 - Mercado Central
No Mercado Central de Mendoza, pequenas lojas vendem as mais deliciosas iguarias argentinas, tudo regado a um bom papo com os vendedores. É, sem dúvida, um dos melhores lugares para experimentar a culinária local. Tudo simples, sem requinte e de encher os olhos e o estômago!
4 - Museo del Area Fundacional
Fundada em 1561, Mendoza sofreu, exatamente 300 anos depois, um forte terremoto que destruiu toda a cidade. Hoje reconstruída, Mendoza busca preservar parte dessa história no Museo del Area Fundacional. Mais do que um museu, o prédio é o berço da cidade. Na área você poderá ver escavações de antigos prédios soterrados e destruídos pelo terremoto.
5 - Museo del Pasado Cuyano
Na casa que pertenceu ao ex-governador Don Francisco Civit, declarada Monumento Histórico Nacional, funciona hoje o Museo del Pasado Cuyano. Em quatro pátios que compõem a casa você conhecerá mais sobre a história dos povos das províncias de Mendoza, San Juan e La Rioja. Ambientes que reproduzem a vida desses povos no século XIX - período da colônia - são o principal foco do museu.
6 - Museu Histórico General San Martín
Em homenagem a General San Martín - o grande libertador da Argentina, Chile e Peru - foi construído o Museo Histórico General San Martín. Lá podem ser vistos seus objetos pessoais, além de armas e uniformes do Exército Libertador, e cenários de época. O museu é pequeno e fica em uma das avenidas mais arborizadas de Mendoza, chamada de Alameda e construída a pedido do general.
7 - Parque General San Martín
Basta abrir uma pontinha de sol e os moradores de Mendoza correm para aproveitar o Parque General San Martín. Passando pelo imponente portão de ferro, acesse uma das mais belas regiões da cidade. A área, de 400 hectares, abriga várias praças, lagos, chafariz, parques infantis e espaços para piqueniques e churrascos. Além do zoológico, há o Museu de Ciências Naturais e Antropológicas, o anfiteatro onde acontece a Festa da Vendímia, o Estádio Provincial Malvinas Argentina, a Universidade Nacional de Cuyo e até um clube de golfe!
8 - Parque Provincial Aconcágua
Na Cordilheira dos Andes, a 6.962 metros de altitude, está uma das maiores atrações de Mendoza. A “sentinela de pedra” - como é conhecido o monte Aconcágua - é tão imponente que parece mesmo tomar conta de toda a província. O ponto mais alto das Américas atrai montanhistas de todo o mundo. Em busca de superar limites, eles encaram as paredes de gelo e realizam uma das mais perigosas escaladas do mundo.
OBS.: O Parque Provincial Aconcágua permanece fechado na maior parte do ano, devido à periculosidade das trilhas. Ele costuma estar aberto entre novembro e fevereiro, mas a data exata varia todos os anos.
9 - Plaza Independencia
A Plaza Independencia é a maior praça da cidade. Cada ponto da praça guarda uma boa surpresa: feira de artesanato, palcos de apresentações artísticas, fontes luminosas, o Museu Municipal de Arte Moderna, o Teatro Municipal e quiosques de comidas típicas são algumas delas. Espetáculos de música e teatro também surgem quando menos se espera.
10 - Puente Picheuta
A 21km da vila de Uspallata a pequena ponte de pedras e argamassa já foi passagem oficial entre Argentina e Chile. Parte do cenário de um dos mais importantes eventos da história daqueles países, atualmente é cartão-postal e parada obrigatória para quem faz o “tour de alta montanha.

El Monte Calvario y su Vía Crucis fueron inaugurados en Tandil el 10 de enero de 1943. Su Vía Crucis es tercero en importancia a nivel mundial, y es para Tandil uno de los lugares más característicos. Indiscutiblemente, es hoy para Tandil el principal ícono religioso espiritual para la ciudad, en semana santa, época en la que peregrinos y turistas colman el lugar, no debe olvidarse que este espacio conforma además un importante valor patrimonial.
Mount Calvary and its Way of the Cross were inaugurated in Tandil on January 10, 1943. Its Way of the Cross is third in importance worldwide, and is for Tandil one of the most characteristic places. Unquestionably, it is today for Tandil the main spiritual religious icon for the city, at Easter, a time when pilgrims and tourists fill the place, it should not be forgotten that this space also constitutes an important heritage value.
O Monte Calvário e seu Caminho da Cruz foram inaugurados em Tandil em 10 de janeiro de 1943. Seu Caminho da Cruz é o terceiro em importância em todo o mundo e é para Tandil um dos lugares mais característicos. Inquestionavelmente, hoje é para Tandil o principal ícone religioso espiritual da cidade, na Páscoa, época em que peregrinos e turistas preenchem o local, não se esqueça que esse espaço também constitui um importante valor patrimonial.

Hoy los llevamos a comer en nuestro restaurante favorito en Argentina: Del Mar! Descubrimos este restaurante por casualida durante nuestra visita a Las Grutas, y fue aquí donde comimos los mejores pescados y mariscos de todo nuestro viaje por Patagonia. Tanto nos gustó que volvimos a comer ahí al día siguiente!
Y también tenemos que hablar de Las Grutas como destino turístico. Muchas veces cuando viajamos, pedimos recomendaciones de lugares para visitar y un destino del cual muchos nos venían hablando es Las Grutas. Las Grutas es un pueblo balneario en la provincia de Rio Negro al noreste de Patagonia, y es destacado por poseer las aguas más cálidas en la costa Argentina, lo cual lo convierte en un destino muy popular durante los meses de verano!
Cuando visitamos Las Grutas el año pasado, nos sorprendimos al encontrar un pueblo pintado de blanco y azul, algo que nos hizo acordar mucho a la isla de Santorini. Estamos en Grecia sobre el Mar Egeo, o en Argentina sobre el Mar Atlantico?!
Tal vez el único error que cometimos fue llegar a Las Grutas justo al final de la temporada, sin saber que muchos de los hoteles, restaurantes y operadores turísticos, ya estarían cerrados por el resto de la temporada. Pero si tuvimos mucha suerte al descubrir ‘Del Azul’ , el restaurante del chef Leonardo Perazzoli. En este video los vamos a llevar a comer ahí, por que este restaurante es una de las razones por la cual tanto disfrutamos nuestra visita a Las Grutas!

¡Hola chicos! Somos Samuel y Audrey, una pareja de vloggers viajeros de Canadá. En este canal compartimos nuestros videos de viajes y comida mientras recorremos el mundo.
Nuestro viaje más reciente fue a Argentina, donde pasamos tres meses viajando por el pais y visitando lugares en las provincias de Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Chubut, Rio Negro, Neuquén, y Mendoza. Nos enamoramos con la belleza del país y estamos ansiosos por compartir con ustedes los lugares que concocimos.
Argentina es un país con tanta diversidad: desiertos, selvas, montañas, glaciares, tundra y más! Y ni hablar de la comida: asados, pizzas, pastas, milanesas, vinos, alfajores y medialunas! La pasamos más que bien!
Nuestro viaje a Argentina incluyó los siguientes destinos en orden cronológico: Buenos Aires, Sierras de Córdoba, La Cumbrecita, Villa General Belgrano, Mar del Plata, Puerto Madryn, Península Valdés, Trelew, Gaiman, Dolavon, Esquel, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Trevelin , El Bolsón, Lago Puelo, Cholila, Villa La Angostura, San Martín de los Andes, Bariloche, Las Grutas y Mendoza.
Este no será nuestro último viaje, así que dejennos saber que otros destinos tenemos que visitar en el país. Queremos escuchar sus consejos de viaje y experiencias en Argentina. Gracias de nuevo por mirar esta serie de viajes en Argentina.
