Scary Situation in Guatemala Naughty Street
I unknowingly put myself in a sketchy situation in my exploration of Guatemala's Zone 1 or Historic Centre. I start off by exploring the main park, then I make my way to the naughty area of La Linea (you'll see why it's naughty), where you can see the unfortunate reality some people live and work in.

Nuestra misión es explorar cada rincón de Guate y del mundo. En esta ocasión fuimos a estos 5 lugares de Jalapa Guatemala. Jalapa es un destino poco explorado, ya que normalmente se cree que allí no hay mucho para conocer y muchos nos decían de forma sarcástica : ¿qué hacer en jalapa? Nada!
Pues no nos importó lo que la gente nos dijera y descubrimos que hay lugares asombrosos. Fuimos a Laguna del Hoyo (este fue uno de los destinos turísticos en jalapa que más nos impresionó) , Cascadas de Urlanta, Pino Dulce y probamos los deliciosos quesos de San Pedro Pinula.

Lake Atitlan Guatemala is a must visit place when you visit Guatemala 2020. It is the most beautiful lake in the world. This volcanic lake surrounded by three volcanoes, mountains and charming Mayan villages is a top destination when you travel Guatemala.
If you have the chance to visit Lake Atitlan Guatemala 2020 or in the future, we highly recommend you to do it. It is one of our favourite destinations in Guatemala and in the world.
We are spending 8 months travelling in Guatemala, the country where Giorgio was born. Our Guatemala Travel Vlog 2020 (and 2019) Series will bring you to the most amazing places in Guatemala. This Lake Atitlan Guatemala Drone video shows you some of the most beautiful places and views you can find on your Guatemala travel.
In Spanish, Lake Atitlan is called Lago de Atitlan, and it is the deepest lake in Central America. The lake has a maximum depth of about 340 metres. It is situated in the district of Sololá in the western highlands of Guatemala. The lake is 18 km wide and 10 km long. It lies at an altitude of 1,562 m. It is surrounded by the three volcanoes: Volcan Atitlán, Volcan Tolimán and Volcan San Pedro.
The lake is located about 50 kilometres from Antigua Guatemala, which is also a popular and beautiful travel destination in Guatemala. It easy to travel from Lake Atitlan to Antigua Guatemala.
The lake is surrounded by many villages and towns in which Maya culture is still prevalent. Traditional clothes are still worn by many Mayan people.
Lago de Atitlán is an endorheic lake, feeding into two rivers. The lake basin is volcanic in origin, filling an enormous caldera formed by an eruption 84,000 years ago.
The towns and villages around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala are: San Juan La Laguna, San Pedro La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna, Panajachel, Jaibalito, Santa Cruz La Laguna, Tzununá, San Pablo La Laguna, Santiago Atitlán, Santa Catarina Palopó, San Lucas Tolimán and San Antonio Palopó. Each town is unique and you should visit them all if you have the chance. San Juan Guatemala and San Pedro Guatemala are neighbouring villages but completely different. We recommend you to visit San Juan Guatemala 2020 and also San Pedro Guatemala 2020.

Guatemala : Au coeur du monde maya
Issu du mélange entre la culture maya et la culture des colons espagnols, le Guatemala a gardé tout son charme et sa beauté.
Tikal est une ancienne capitale d’un état conquérant qui fut l'un des royaumes les plus puissants des anciens Mayas.
Forte de la transcription d’une longue liste de rois, dont pour la plupart les tombes ont été découvertes, ainsi que leurs sculptures monumentales, leurs temples et leurs palais, Tikal est une des cités mayas les plus connues.
Le site nous transporte dans le riche passé Maya ; et la Gran Plaza, la Grande Pyramide du Monde Perdu, ou la place des 7 temples sont l’occasion d’un voyage dans le temps.
Rejoindre Livingston sera l’occasion d’un voyage en bateau sur le Rio Dulce. La faune y est impressionnante et on y croise par exemple de grands pélicans, aigrettes blanches et grises, perroquets Aras, aigles, tortues ou encore des iguanes.
Livingston rayonne par la diversité de sa population. Mayas, Indiens, Latinos et Garifunas se partagent les rues. Différentes ambiances se côtoient : des ruelles paisibles et secrètes, on peut rejoindre l’artère centrale plus dynamique et vivante.
Le lac Atitlan, d’origine volcanique, offre un splendide paysage. Les villages environnants sont encore imprégnés de la culture traditionnelle.
Le village éponyme est d’ailleurs peuplé essentiellement d’indiens. San Pedro et San Juan, deux hameaux avoisinant le lac, sont extrêmement appréciés des voyageurs pour leur ambiance festive et paisible à la fois.
Antigua, connue pour son architecture de style baroque et de Renaissance, est une ancienne cité coloniale, encerclée par les volcans d’Agua, de Fuego et d'Acatenango.
La Semaine Sainte est particulièrement impressionnante dans cette ville où les processions et tapis de fleurs habitent les rues.

IXIMCHE RUINS The Ancient Guatemala 4K | TECPAN Mayan Temple 2021
Our first time to visit a ruins and we were amazed how beautiful and peaceful this place is! We were sent back from civilization to the ancient times! It was an amazing experience to learn about the Mayan people and their culture in the past. Indeed, Guatemala has the treasures that are very unique, well preserved and can still be enjoyed by young generations nowadays.

*Por tierra: Puedes tomar un taxi en el aeropuerto, preguntar si hay shuttles privadas o colectivas o si lo deseas puedes rentar auto. O puedes aventurarte y tomar un Chicken bus (10 quetzales) en caso de que lleves equipaje muy, muy ligero.

Quetzal. De preferencia cambia tu dinero en el aeropuerto.
-Qué hacer en Antigua Guatemala
*Subir el Cerro de la Cruz y disfrutar de la hermosa vista que se tiene desde ahí, si llevas auto tendrás que pagar 5 quetzales por el estacionamiento. Aquí podrás ver toda la ciudad de Antigua y el Volcán de Agua.
*Visita el Convento de Santa Clara: Ubicado muy cerca al lavadero público está el Convento de Santa Clara que vale la pena visitar. Es un sitio nostálgico, que al haber quedado en ruinas por el terremoto que acabó con esta ciudad lo hace un sitio perfecto para las fotografías y llevar a cabo eventos sociales como bodas o quince años.
Entrada: 40 quetzales turista extranjero
*Conoce la Fuente de los Pescados en la Iglesia de la Merced:
Esta fuente es la más grande de Antigua Guatemala y esta tiene un diámetro de 27 metros y una forma de libro acuático que puedes ver completa desde el techo de la iglesia.
Esta iglesia es muy cotizada para realizar bodas y eventos sociales, es uno de los pocos edificios que soportaron el terremoto de 1773 debido a su robusta arquitectura.
*Tómate la foto en el Arco de Santa Catalina
Este punto turístico sin duda es el más famoso y fotografiado de toda Antigua. Y es que la composición que se forma con el arco, el volcán y su calle empedrada es algo que quieres llevarte en tu memoria por siempre.
Anteriormente se usaba como pasillo para las monjas reclusas en el Convento de Santa Catalina y así evitar el contacto con la gente de la ciudad. Actualmente el arco pertenece al municipio y el convento o lo que quedó de él es un hotel.
*Pasea por la plaza central, la Catedral y el Mercado de Artesanías El Carmen
Tanto en ciudades como pueblitos siempre encontramos una plaza central donde sus habitantes van a pasar una rica tarde en compañía de familiares, amigos o con la pareja y en Antigua no es la excepción. Durante nuestro recorrido nos tocó disfrutar también del sonido de la marimba y ver cómo la gente bailaba y se divertía. Cerca se encuentra el Mercado de Artesanías “El Carmen” donde encontrarás gran variedad y no podrás decidir fácilmente qué llevar, ya que el detalle y los colores atraen muchísimo y vas a querer llevarte todo.

Antigua Guatemala | Central America Travel Vlog | Things to do, weather, food, and more
See why Antigua is one of the must-see places in Central America in our travel vlog. A UNESCO world heritage site, for more than 200 years Antigua served as the seat of the military governor of the Spanish colony of Guatemala- a large region that included almost all of present-day Central America. First, we talk about the glorious weather in Antigua and some of the positioning of the city at an elevation of 5029ft. Then we walk to the very heart of Antigua: Parque Central (Central Park) with the fountain of the sirens at its center. Then we take a short walk to the Santa Catalina Arch, arguably the most famous landmark in all of Antigua if not all of Guatemala. The Santa Catalina Arch is not just a pretty tourist attraction, it was originally built with a very specific purpose. After lunch at the delicious Rincón Típico, we have a sweet treat at the Choco Museo (chocolate museum) while learning a little bit about how chocolate is made. Then it's off to another of Antigua's famous tourist destinations: the Convent of the Capuchinas (Convento Capuchinas). Like much of the historic city, the Convent of the Capuchinas was damaged during an earthquake many years ago, but it is still the perfect place to escape to when you want some peace and quiet. Lastly, we finish our day with some delicious Guatemalan coffee and catch a procession preparing for the famous Semana Santa. Unfortunately, Semana Santa (holy week) was canceled this year so we feel lucky to have seen this.
