Who's ready for another unique stay?! A few weeks ago, we packed our bags and planned another fun getaway, this time to a cozy off-grid camping cabin in the woods.
If you're not the biggest fan of camping, this might be the right fit for you because a camping cabin does offer certain comforts like a real mattress and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm at night! But you still get the nature experiences with evening campfires, forest hikes, and everything else that comes with a camping trip.
One of the things we really enjoyed about this particular place was the forest art trail, which is exactly what it sounds like. This property has a big hiking trail that loops through the woods with lots of little treasures along the way. Pictures ceramic sculptures, fairy houses, and forest creatures hidden at the base of tree trunks or looking down from tree branches - it felt like a treasure hunt.
The tiny cabin we stayed in is actually meant for 4 people, so this is a trip you could do with friends. The one thing to keep in mind is that you do have to bring your own bedding, so sleeping bags, pillows and perhaps a warm fleece blanket.

Driving Through Noel, Missouri Old Retro Gas Station Disappearing Small Towns in Midwest America

Driving through Noel, Missouri on highway 90 and 59 south, the backroads to Fayetteville, Arkansas. Me and my brother were out exploring and videoed some old parts of the city of Noel along the way. The town has several closed businesses, including an old burned down historic building in the middle of downtown. The town has been known as a huge tourist destination in the past. There is also the remains of an old gas station that appears to be from the 1950s? It reminds me of a building off the Jetsons' cartoon!

Clinton, Missouri has long prided itself as being a progressive and innovative community and our history shows it. Our Historic Square is a Registered National Historic District and features 85 buildings of Victorian and Italianate styling. These structures are spread over approximately 10 blocks. The jewel of downtown is the Henry County Courthouse, which was constructed in 1893. Its gracious greenspace and beautiful limestone construction make it a must see on your visit.
Clinton, Missouri was founded in 1836 and its first structure was a hotel/bar built of logs in the NE corner of the square in 1837. Clinton was a major pathway and trail for pioneers traveling west. Clinton is named after New York Governor Dewitt Clinton, who is best known as a major supporter of the Erie Canal.

???? Drive America's Highways for 2 miles west along the historic mother road in Springfield, Missouri.
We start the video turning on to E. St. Louis Street (Route 66) from National Ave. Driving west, we soon reach Downtown Springfield and it's historic town square (that functions as a roundabout). Continuing west out of downtown, now on College Street, we make a quick pit stop at the new Birthplace of Route 66 Roadside Park before continuing west to end the video at the intersection with the Kansas Expressway.

“Liberal was founded in 1880 by George Walser, an anti-religionist, agnostic lawyer and former state legislator who wished to create an atheist, freethinker utopia. It was named after the Liberal League in Lamar, Missouri, which Walser was a member of at the time.[citation needed] Walser purchased 2,000 acres (8 km2) of land and advertised across the country for atheists to join his town, which would have neither God, Hell, Church, nor Saloon.
Walser organized a reformed school system that sought to promote liberal education free from the bias of Christian theology, and had instructional classes on Sundays to replace religious services. The Free Thought University was founded in 1886 with a staff of seven teachers providing regular lectures and hosting intellectual debates. The arrival of the railroad triggered a population boom, bringing the town to 546 residents by 1890.
Christian practitioners began arriving in Liberal soon after it was founded, but were initially met with resistance by Walser. They quietly bought homes within the town and began holding religious services, which were interrupted by Walser, and the Christian group later moved to nearby plots of land after being evicted. A new town, named Pedro, was established in 1884 by the Christians after Walser erected a barbed wire fence around Liberal. Walser eventually relaxed restrictions on saloons in 1887 and churches in 1889, and he later converted to Christianity before his death in 1910.
The local population peaked in the 1910s and declined for much of the 20th century. A major drought in 1980 triggered an exodus of businesses and residents. Today, Liberal is part of a solidly conservative electorate that encompasses all of Barton County.”
