The most energetic and vibrant day in the Sicilian city of Catania! In this episode, we dive headfirst into the fish market frenzy of Catania, explore the gorgeous cathedral and venture a little outside the city to visit the majestic lava coastline and the special towns of Aci Castello and Aci Trezza! We eat the famous Catania dish of Pasta alla Norma under the colorful umbrellas and find a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the city and Mount Etna!
Catania is the second-largest Sicilian city after Palermo. It was destroyed to the ground seven times by volcanic eruptions and earthquakes from Mount Etna. The most recent catastrophic events in 1169 and 1693 forced the inhabitants to rebuild the city from scratch. The origin of the city dates back to 730 B.C. during the first arrival of ancient Greeks and this was the beginning of a long series of invasions and conquests.

The Yard Hostel . The best in Italy?
ENG:The Yard Hostel in Catania is the best hostel I've ever been in my country.
Really close the central street the Via Etnea it's in a courtyard. Owned by 3 guys and a dog that have tastefully furnished it . Great rooms with a big space , a nice bar and an agreable living room with an old juke box.
ITA:The Yard Hostel a Catania è il miglior ostello in cui sia mai stato nel mio paese.
Molto vicino alla via centrale la Via Etnea è in un cortile. Di proprietà di 3 ragazzi e un cane che lo hanno arredato con gusto. Camere fantastiche con un grande spazio, un bel bar e un piacevole soggiorno con un vecchio juke box.
