Nigeria, plateau: The Jos Plateau

Subscribe please!!!

Nigeria is overall amazing!!! The people are the friendliest people in Africa. I experienced that first hand when I visited the Plateau state, Jos. I was receive as a Son.

Jos Plateau, formerly Bauchi Plateau, tableland in Plateau State, central Nigeria, distinguished by its high bounding scarp and by bare grassland and embracing Africa’s chief tin-mining region. Its central area covers about 3,000 sq mi (8,000 sq km) and has an average elevation of 4,200 ft (1,280 m); the surrounding high plains often exceed 3,200 ft. The adjoining highland area on the east is occasionally designated the Bauchi Plateau.

The plateau has a cool rainy climate and is the source of numerous rivers, including the Kaduna, Karami, and N’gell, which feed the Niger River; the Mada, Ankwe, Dep, Shemanker, and Wase, which flow to the Benue; the Lere, Maijuju, and Bagei, which supply the Gongola; and the Kano, Delimi, Bunga, Jamaari, and Misau, which intermittently nourish Lake Chad.

Visit this wonderful city and you won't be disappointed.
the weather in Jos is just the best as compare to Lagos!!

MUSA, MOST EXCITING DRUMMER BOY OF BAUCHI-festour

An engagement with a dexterous drummer boy from the toro area of bauchi state, nigeria. Toro is a Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Toro. It has an area of 6,932² and a population of 350,404 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 740

Bauchi State is a State in northern Nigeria. Its capital is the city of Bauchi. The state was formed in 1976 when the former North-Eastern State was broken up. It originally included the area now in Gombe State, which became a distinct state in 1996.
The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University is located in the capital city Bauchi.

What is now known as Bauchi was until 1976 a province in the then North-Eastern State of Nigeria. According to the 2006 census, the state has a population of 4,653,066.
Bauchi state has gone through tremendous transformation over the years. During the colonial era up to independence, it formed part of the Bauchi-Plateau of the then Northern Region, until the 1967 state creation exercise, when the Bauchi, Borno, and Adamawa provinces constituted the former North-Eastern State.
With the creation of Bauchi state in 1976, then comprising present Bauchi and Gombe states, it included 16 Local Government Areas. The number of Local Government Areas in the then Bauchi state was increased to 20 and later to 23. However, in 1997 when Gombe state was created out of Bauchi and additional local governments were created in the country, Bauchi state was left with 20 Local Government Areas as shown below.
Sharia law was adopted in June 2001.

This is Guinea Bissau, Africa You Don't See on TV #GuineaBissau Africa Ep. 6

Guinea-Bissau is a tropical country on West Africa’s Atlantic coast that’s known for national parks and wildlife. The forested, sparsely populated Bijagós archipelago is a protected biosphere reserve. Its main island, Bubaque, forms part of the Orango Islands National Park, a habitat for saltwater hippos. On the mainland, the capital, Bissau, is a port with Portuguese colonial buildings in its old city center.

The distance from Jegue border to Bissau is about 130km. It takes about 3 and half hours drive due to the poor state of the roads. Which is surprising because along the way there's about 5police stops where you will have to pay for the road at every stop. It's also advisable to have a 4 wheel drive especially during rainy season.

So let's talk a little bit about Guinea Bissau. Did you know that Guinea Bissau official language is Portuguese but is spoken by only about 11% of the population. The local dialect is creole
2. The main form of foreign exchange is Cashew nuts. Some people call it the cashew coast of Africa
3. 80% of the population is employed in Agriculture with cashewnuts be in my the major two ethnic groups being Fulani being at 28% and balanta at 23%,

The 200 year old Emirs palace in Bauchi state, Nigeria || Blessyn Kure

Bauchi State is a Northern Nigerian state formed in 1976 and is home to an estimated 7.3 million people with about 55 tribal groups with the majority tribes as Sayawa, Jarawa, Karekare, Kanuri, Hausa and others.
Bauchi has gone through tremendous transformation over the years but one thing has been constant… The Emirs palace, notable for its magnificent edifice made from mud built in the 19th century.

The Emir of Bauchi’s palace was built by Muhammadu Durugu popularly referred to as Babban Gwani, a 19th century master builder from Zaria who was famous for building mosques and palaces in Kano, Katsina, Bauchi and Zaria.

It’s tall defense walls and designs serves as both a source of security and as a large space for people during important state activities like Friday prayer or the Durbar.
