Positano is the most famous and iconic village on the Amalfi Coast, the spectacular strip of coastline with the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea to one side and the peaks of the Lattari Mountains to the other. The coastline stretches for 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Naples (Napoli) and north of Salerno in the southern Italian region of Campania. The entire Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with highlights including Positano as well as the equally picturesque towns of Amalfi and Ravello.
Take a dip in the crystalline waters off the coast, admire the dramatic cliffs by sea on a mini-cruise, relax over a romantic dinner overlooking the water, and stroll along the narrow, twisting lanes under a lush canopy of wisteria and lemon trees. These are the unique charms that make Positano one of the top destinations in all of Italy for those who want to sample the country’s timeless la dolce vita atmosphere.
Where is Positano?
Positano is the first town you reach on the Amalfi Coast when arriving from Naples, and it's about a 20-minute drive from the Sorrentine Peninsula and about 30 minutes from Capri by ferry. After Positano, the next towns are Praiano, Conca de' Marini, Amalfi, and the other villages along the coast.
You can reach Positano by bus from Sorrento or Amalfi (there are two stops: La Sponda and Chiesa Nuova). There are also ferries in the summer from Sorrento and Capri.
Positano, a village built from the bottom to the top of an Italian hill on Monte Comune, in the province of Salerno, by the sea. It is absolutely breathtaking to see these houses one above the other because at first glance we only see these houses and no more vegetation, when in fact there are citrus gardens and palm trees.
During your walk in the village, your steps may take you down a sloping lane and at the end you see the sea, and just like many visitors, you will have the impression that the lane falls into the Wed, it’s really surprising! Visiting the village requires courage for some and in addition to wearing good shoes, because it is made up of numerous stairs or steps that cross the streets.
We can sometimes feel oppressed as the houses are so close to each other and so high. Despite these faults for some, Positano has a charm of its own and proof of this is because the village, in summer, is crowded with tourists and artists have made it their place of creation.
Positano, thanks to its port, was a flourishing village in the 16th and 17th centuries, then the inhabitants deserted this region to go to the United States to experience a better life. The village lived only from its fishing then tourists arrived in the middle of the 20th century and since then it has drawn its main wealth from tourism because its coast is one of the most beautiful on the Amalfi Coast. Faced with the influx of rich tourists, luxury boutiques are set up on the street and the village is experiencing a surge in prices which does not make the inhabitants happy.
On the village square “Piazzetta des Moulins” you will find the church which is mentioned in the legend of the Madonna.

【太平洋フェリー きそ 1等和洋室】名古屋→苫小牧 日本最長航路40時間
愛知県名古屋港から北海道苫小牧港までを運航する太平洋フェリー「 きそ」に乗船してきました。
「きそ」は全長199.9メートル、全幅27メートル、最大速力26.73ノットです。
船内の色鮮やかなインテリアや南国風の植物や動物のオブジェが旅の気分を盛り上げます。
乗船時間は約40時間、フェリーとしては日本最長の航路です。
途中、仙台港に寄港時、一時下船しました。
フェリーには、レストラン、大浴場、ゲームコーナー、売店などの施設があり、長時間でも楽しめます。
今回の部屋は、ツインベッドの1等和洋室に滞在し、長時間でもリラックスできる旅でした。
天候に恵まれ日の出の様子を見ることができました。また、2日目の午後には、姉妹船「いしかり」とのすれ違いも見ることができました！

A Walk Around The Mion Museum at La Posada
In this short film, Sian shares with us some of her best-loved paintings in the remarkable collection housed in the Mion Museum at La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona.
Tina Mion is one of the most gifted contemporary American artists painting today. Her wide-ranging subject matter, her incredible technical accomplishments, and vivid, emotionally-resonant work mark her out as a true original. Her work as an artist dovetails beautifully with the epic process of restoration her husband Alan Affeldt and she have undertaken at La Posada, turning it from a doomed wreck to a thriving enterprise at the heart of its community.
Sian starts by viewing one of Tina’s most famous pieces, A New Year’s Party In Purgatory For Suicides. As Tina points out in David Hertzberg’s documentary on her work, Tina Mion: Behind The Studio Door, Dante reserved the second circle of hell for suicides, and the act of suicide remains the focus of much social and religious taboo. The painting features both famous and unknown suicides, and Liberace, who’s just come along for the party. These characters exist in a liminal space, the door standing ajar between one year and another. Sian finds it impossible to view them without both compassion, identification and sorrow welling up in her heart. The presence of the artist herself in the picture, heralding her band of suicides with a noisemaker, makes a wry and yet strangely hopeful comment. In the end, our lives are our own to dispose of, and in that, lies a great freedom.
After this, we move on to Tina’s Death Spoons work. Here, we are offered lives and deaths of women who have been marginalised, falsely accused, imprisoned, and above all, blamed and scapegoated. They bear the ancient weight of the sinner eater, and this picture serves to place them in the ignoble tradition of projecting on to the most vulnerable all our society cannot bear to admit in itself.
Sian singles out the portrait of Florence Harding from the Ladies First series of paintings to linger by. She is struck by what an impressive and moving portrayal this portrait offers of the actuality of grief, not its idealised form. Grief has the power to warp, to destroy and to crush, as do the sacrifices women make for their partner’s ambitions. This picture offers us a beautiful but sombre image for the price of power, motherhood and loss.
The final painting Sian considers is the remarkable Piñata Self-Portrait. In this, the artist hangs suspended after her viscera has been beaten open with the piñata stick. From her open body there is a graceful fall of objects, each imbued with the illuminated significance of the symbols we dream in and that express our deepest selves. Tina is masked, wearing a painted carapace that protects at least a part of her being from the exposure of the creative act. Sian experiences the self-portrait as a whole as a unity that pulsates with the one universal that makes life in all its suffering possible - love.
Tina Mion is an internationally renowned artist, who has been creating art that is both beautiful and powerful all of her adult life. She has work in collections all over the world, and has lectured and taught widely. Her work is used in university classes on American History and death and dying. An insight into her process may be found in David Hetzberg’s documentary about her work, Tina Mion, Behind The Studio Door, which was an official selection in many film festivals in the USA and Canada between 2012 and 2014. She has exhibited three times in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC.

This time, I stayed at Spa & Hotel Maihama Eurasia in Maihama, Chiba Prefecture, where Disney Resort is located!
The charm of this hotel is undoubtedly the 7 types of baths for men and women, 3 types of saunas, and 2 types of bedrock baths. If you are a guest, you can take a bath as many times as you like♨️. After working up a good sweat in the public bath, you can lie down on a reclining chair in the relaxation room or enjoy the Disney fireworks that go up every day on the rooftop terrace.
There is a breakfast buffet that everyone from children to adults can enjoy in the morning, and it is a wonderful hotel that can be enjoyed by the whole family before heading to Disney or after going to Disney!
There is a free shuttle bus from Maihama Station to the hotel, and you can come and go freely at intervals of 3 buses per hour????.
