Safari Africa Mikumi, Zanizibar, TANZANIA ????????
Safari Mikumi National Park is one of the southern national parks in Tanzania,Africa. Its open landscape and abundant wildlife are often compared to the well-known Serengeti. The safari park borders the Selous Game Reserve to the south and the two areas form a unique ecosystem. There is a greater chance of encountering lions climbing trees here than in the other parks!
Wildlife in Mikumi National Park.
The safari park has a wide variety of animals. But most visitors come to this national park to spot the “Big Five” – cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino. Hippos also live in two mud pools and are one of the highlights. These mud pools are located just 5 km north of the main entrance. And the hippos are accompanied by an ever-changing flock of waterfowl. So Mikumi has an abundance of wildlife making it a great place to stay in Tanzania - you will enjoy it!
The Mkata Foodplain is a vast area in Mikumi safari National Park that is great for wildlife viewing. This is where lions survey their grassy kingdom, keeping an eye out for herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo to pass through. They can often be found on the flat-topped tops of termite mounds, or sometimes even lurking in the trees during the rains.
Giraffes strut along the isolated stands of acacia trees on the edge of the Mkata River, an island of shade also favored by Mikumi's elephants. This Mkata plain is perhaps the most reliable place in Tanzania to view the mighty Eland, the world's largest antelope. The equally impressive kudu and sable antelope are also often found on the miombo-covered foothills of the mountains that rise on the border of Mikumi safari National Park.
Africa Mikumi safari is a fantastic place for bird lovers as it is home to more than 400 different species of birds! The Mkata River in particular offers a majestic view of the fishing Greater Openbills. Marabous, the red-billed oxpecker, black-bellied bustard, collared francolin, cattle egret, guinea fowl, hornbill and crested pygmy fisherman are also widespread in Mikumi National Park. And the most colorful species are the Cape Pipit, the Forked Roller (or Forked Rake) and the Juggler (a species of bird of prey). European migrants are also common in Africa safari Mikumi National Park during the rainy season.
Besides the safari in kenya this is the best safari in the Africa and you should definitely visit it when you are on the island of Zanzibar.

Mikumi National park, Tanzania
2 Days Mikumi Safari.
We arrived to Dar es Salam in early morning with Turkish airlines. Watu Safaris picked up us on the airport around 6:00 and we headed to Mikumi national park. After we arrived to the park (around 14:00) we checked in into the tourist cottages located inside the park and we have afternoon drive where we saw lot of animals and watched sunset next to the hippo pool, which was overcrowded by animals thanks to the dry season. Next day we had morning drive finished with lunch in Mikumi wildlife Camp, where you can still watch animals thanks to the nearby waterhole. After lunch we headed back to Dar Es Salam.
