Mettupalayam is located in the foothills of Nilgiri hills about 35 km north of downtown Coimbatore and about 50 km north of Tiruppur, Mettupalayam is the third largest town in the district. It is important for the Nilgiri ghat road.

It is a nice outing for the family with kids with various Water Sports on the foothills of Ooty, near Mettupalayam,45 KM from Coimbatore. They offer a lot of water rides and dry rides along with a lot of other games. There is a lot of water games some rides are very risky and some are very enjoyable. The waterfall and sea wave enjoyable. The food is quite decent and reasonable. There is no need to take food.

Coimbatore is the nearest main city and place from where you can start your journey for Ooty. Coimbatore has railway station and airport as well. From Coimabtore to ooty, the total road distance is 80 Kms and it takes 4 hours to reach Ooty from Coimbatore.

1. Adiyogi Shiva Statue :
Adiyogi Lord Shiva Statue at Isha Yoga Center of Coimbatore is the largest bust sculpture in the world, Designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and weighs around 500 tonnes. The 112 foot tall statue of Lord Shiva is located at the foothills of Velliangiri Mountains and inaugurated by Narendra ModiJi as well as part of official Incredible India campaign.
2. Marudha Malai Hill Temple :
The Marudhamalai hill temple is located at a towering height of 500 ft in the highland on the Western Ghats.
15 kms away to north-west of Coimbatore city, the temple has an excellent invigorating atmosphere. Vehicles are allowed to pass through the Marudhamalai temple and the devasthanam has granted three buses from the low slope of the hill to get through the temple on top.
