In fact, it shares some characteristics of southern states. Despite being one of the smallest states in the country, it has an outsized influence on national politics, for one thing. About the only thing that is similar to other northeastern states is that New Hampshire has a population of educated residents. It's a weird state, ya'll. Their wood grilled food mixed with the rustic tavern feel is reason enough to give Merrimack a visit.

Previously at the mouth of Merrimack River in Salisbury Beach State Reservation, continuing this river at the historic Mill City of Lowell. The Merrimack stretches 188 km (117 miles) between Franklin, NH and Salisbury, MA exiting into the Atlantic. Lowell, incorporated in 1826, is the 4th largest city in Massachusetts and is known for its textile mills powered by the river during the Industrial Revolution. Much of the city is preserved by the National Park Service (so very limited flying above the city). Coverage remained just above the river. Discover & Enjoy!
