A orillas del Río Quinto, en la provincia de San Luís, se encuentra Villa Mercedes. En esta entrega te ofrezco la parte céntrica de la ciudad en una mañana temprano.
Villa Mercedes, fue fundada a mediados del Siglo XIX como un Fortín Constitucional para extender el territorio del país hacia el sur hasta orillas del Río Quinto. Previamente se había formado una posta hacia 1706, donde acudieron personalidades importantes de aquella época, así en 1824 albergó al Cardenal Giovanni María Mastai Ferretti, quien luego sería el Papa Pío IX y en 1833 a Charles Darwin mientras realizaba sus travesías por éstas tierras.
Durante este periodo, diversos malones aborígenes provocaron su abandono y refundación en varias ocasiones, aunque en 1752, se inició el acto que comenzó con el desarrollo del pueblo que terminaría con la ciudad actual. Luego, en 1856 se originó el Fortín Constitucional durante la gobernación de Justo Daract, para frenar a los ranqueles, indígenas que habitaban la zona antes de la llegada de los colonizadores.
También se llamó Río Quinto hasta 1861, momento en que recibió el nombre con el que se la conoce hasta el presente.
Con la llegada del ferrocarril a finales del siglo XIX, recibió una importante afluencia inmigratoria europea y sirio libanesa.

On the banks of the Quinto River, in the province of San Luis, is Villa Mercedes. In this installment I offer you the central part of the city on an early morning.
Villa Mercedes was founded in the mid-19th century as a Constitutional Fort to extend the country's territory south to the banks of the Fifth River. Previously, a post had been formed around 1706, where important personalities of that time attended, so in 1824 it housed Cardinal Giovanni María Mastai Ferretti, who would later be Pope Pius IX, and in 1833 Charles Darwin while he made his journeys through these lands.
During this period, various aboriginal raids caused its abandonment and refoundation on several occasions, although in 1752, the act that began with the development of the town that would end with the current city began. Then, in 1856, the Constitutional Fort was created during the government of Justo Daract, to stop the ranqueles, indigenous people who inhabited the area before the arrival of the colonizers.
It was also called Río Quinto until 1861, when it received the name by which it is known to this day.
With the arrival of the railway at the end of the 19th century, it received a significant influx of European and Lebanese Syrian immigrants.

Why Albania ???????? is Making Weird Buildings? | Tirana
Albania ????????a country known for so many things it’s difficult to choose.
From amazing beaches to cute Balkan-style villages and towns like Berat and Gjirokaster, the most delicious food and the cutest and most welcoming people.
This is my first time here and before I get deeper into the country, I came to visit Tirana, the capital of Albania.
Tirana is an ancient city full of culture, with thousands of coffee shops. Yeah, for some reason people REALLY like coffee here ???????? and they make some of the best coffee I’ve ever tried.
Anyhow, this video is about something that caught my attention in Tirana, and it’s the fact that everywhere you walk there are new buildings being constructed, but not just regular buildings, very cool architectural buildings.
Tirana is a seismic area so the buildings are not very high, but in contrast, they put big efforts into creating something unique. All the new buildings have special colors, shapes, and concepts ???? it’s very interesting to see a city making efforts to create a sense of uniqueness in their infrastructure.
You can see these efforts also in the walking street lights, which are uniquely shaped as a “T” for Tirana.
So far I am really loving this country ❤️????????
