Lugano Switzerland Best Places | Lake Lugano, Swiss Italian Lakes 4K
Lugano is a city in Switzerland, in the Canton on Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, on Lake Lugano, or Lago di Lugano. This video shows the best places to see in Lugano and the surrounding area, including Monte San Savatore, Gandia and by boat on the lake.

Lake Lugano is south of the Alps in both Switzerland and Italy, along with its neighbouring lakes Maggiore (also half in Switzerland), Como and Garda, form the region commonly known as the Italian Lakes.
Lugano was once part of Milan. It was taken by the Swiss Confederation in the 16th century. At the heart of the city is the old town, with colonaded and cobbled streets, 17th and 18th century buildings, the Piazza della Riforma and the Cattedrale di an Lorenzo, or Cathedral of Saint Lawrence.
Parks and garden walkways line Lake Lugano and are some of the best places to see. The Parco Ciani and Villa Ciani are east of the old town, between it and the lido.
West of the city is Monte San Salvatore, 912m and offering sweeping vistas of the lake. A funicular takes you up.
East of Lugano, villages cling to the rock and line the lake shore. The Seniero di Gardina is a beautiful garden path between the villages of Castagnola and Gandria. It is one of the best places to walk near Lugano. The Sentiero di Oliva takes you through olive groves, testifying to the warm climate that is almost Mediterranean.
From Gandria, a ferry takes you back to Lugano.

Travel Switzerland in APRIL? What you NEED to KNOW!
April is a tricky month. It’s Spring and yet still sort of Winter! April is the month with the messiest weather and thus you will need to plan well ahead! In April the weather may change suddenly: It may be sunny and then it turns cloudy, it rains or even snows! Thus, you always would need a plan B for this month. April is the start of the blossom season, the flowers and trees are going to bloom and show beautiful colors. For this, April is definitely the best month as it marks the peak of Spring. Yet, April can be cold, mild or warm, depending where you are at. In Ticino it is mostly going to be warm, Spring over there is ahead of the rest of Switzerland, while up in the Swiss Alps it’s still cold and Winter season. There will be a lot of snow and you even can go for skiing. Many ski resorts will still be open, although not all slopes will be accessible, as there won’t be as much snow as during January or February. The more April is passing, the more it’s turning warmer and the snow will melt. April is a month of culture: There will be various festivals: The Sechseläuten in Zürich, one of the biggest cultural events of the city during the year or then the Easter processions at Mendrisio. The Easter Processions will be taking place on Good Thursday and Good Friday night. April is a rather low season month when it comes to traveling; the hotels won’t be fully booked and you might enjoy some discount. Busy travel time will be however the Easter Weekend; especially the traffic jam at the Gotthard tunnel (up to 8 hours!). The greens are about to come back during April, but to experience the greenest months of Switzerland, you would have to travel during May to September. The waterfalls will be again more powerful, the peak will be during May and June. All in all, April is a great month to travel but requires careful planning due to the weather!

There are a lot of things to love about living in Switzerlandut there are also a lot of things that are not so great. so today we are talking about three things that I love about Switzerland and two that I do not. Wait I forgot. Today we are also giving away this Bug a Salt gun. Number one. The outdoors. Switzerland is the most beautiful place that I have ever been to. the way the mountains look with the lakes and everything. It is just so pretty. Pictures do not do this place justice. But fortunately, you don't just have to look at pictures in Switzerland there are so many ways to get outdoors. There is hiking there is biking there is rockclimbing everywhere. There are these via ferratas that go up the rock faces also if you are not quite into rock climbing, you can go paragliding. If you name it Switzerland has got it. If you are not into this whole exercising thing you can go on these trams that go up the mountain. or these cable cars or the faries that go on the lakes. There is no reason that you cannot get outdoors in Switzerland it is amazing. If you live in Switzerland and you are not getting outside you are making a bad life decision. Why would you even live in Switzerland if you are not getting outside? that is the number one reason to live in Switzerland. It is so amazing. Switzerland is old. There are a lot of old buildings there are a lot of old towns and old roads, and really old history. If you are from Europe then this is just normal but I am From the USA. And in the US if you just go back a few hundred years history descends into a mystery. We don't really know what was going on in the USA 1000 years ago. History is one of my favorite parts about living in Switzerland. If you are visiting a castle or something it is crazy to think about all of the people that came before you that put in that work to build these structures. We don't remember most of their names. Bellinzona is Switzerland’s southernmost capital town with Italian style architecture, medieval castles, and valley views. It lies on the River Ticino near the Gotthard Pass and it is a gateway to Italy for those traveling from the North.
