Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a man-made reservoir located at the Colorado River and is approximately 24 miles from the Las Vegas strip located in Las Vegas, Nevada and Arizona.

Swim, boat, hike, cycle, camp and fish at America’s first and largest national recreation area. With striking landscapes and brilliant blue waters, this year-round playground spreads across 1.5 million acres of mountains, canyons, valleys and two vast lakes. See the Hoover Dam from the waters of Lake Mead or Lake Mohave, or find solitude in one of the park's nine wilderness areas.

The lake has remained below full capacity since 1983 due to drought and increased water demand. As of April 2020, Lake Mead held 42.97% of full capacity with 11.3 million acre feet, up from 10.4 million acre feet in 2019 and the low of 9.8 million acre feet 2016. It has been smaller than Lake Powell (the second-largest US reservoir when both are full) since 2013.

Hoover Dam & Lake Mead Vacation Travel Video Guide

Modern time wonder Hoover Dam & Lake Mead in the USA.
Located in the South Western region of the United States, Lake Mead is surrounded by the Mojave, Great Basin and Sonora deserts. It contains 35 billion cubic metres of water and was created as a result of a massive construction that was built on the Colorado River: the Hoover Dam.At a length of 177 kilometres, the idyllic Lake Mead is an essential water supply for the hot desert regions of both Nevada and Arizona. The Hoover Dam, which rises majestically above the Black Canyon, extends for more than 380 metres and generates the electricity that supplies the glittering world of Las Vegas’s Casinos in addition to various parts of Southern California. Once seen, it is understandable why this gigantic, awe-inspiring dam has been declared an Historic National Monument.

???? According To Briggs

If you enjoy these videos I would love to hear about it. We look at the best and worst cities, states, towns, and neighborhoods in the United States. Occasionally we do other countries. Most of the time focus on the negative side of locations. That is just what people want to see.
If you only want some happy positive information about a city, town, or state, I would suggest looking up local mortgage and real estate companies or maybe the locations website. They are trying to sell you something so it will be nothing but sunshine, rainbows, and a bunch of smoke up your skirt. They won't tell you about crime, poverty, or the insurance you'll need because of natural disasters. I will.
